As the warriors neared, the comparatively small size of the tunnel forced them into single-file, the Raveners spraying torrents of acidic material at the lead creature, melting away its lower jaw and one primary claw. As the creature neared, one Ravener lashed out with its scythe-like limbs, hacking off the pointed end of one of the creature's legs, causing it to stumble, the confined space not allowing it to lift said limb high enough to use it as a weapon. Behind them, one of the gargantuan Mawlocs reemerged in the tunnel-or, at least, a portion of its body that fit-gaping maw unleashing a thundering shriek...

As the Warriors continued their suicidal charge, a Tiger Bug burst into the tunnel behind the Raveners, its pincer-like mandible slicing through flesh and bone in one snap, wrenching one of the Tyranid creatures in two...

The remaining three Raveners shrieked in surprise, diving into the side of the tunnel while the Tiger Bug was distracted, the warriors kept at bay by their crippled companion clogging the tunnel. The tunnels dug by each Ravener were much smaller then the arachnid creatures, allowing them to escape without immediate interference. The Mawloc lunged forward, colliding with the closest warrior, its toothed maw shredding the creature into a pile of limbs and blood in seconds, sliding forward as its girth smashed the arachnid creatures into the sides of the tunnels. Another Mawloc emerged behind the first, jaws parted wide in a loud hiss...

".....1,183...programs? 1,183 Geth...in the single platform" said Serephir, glancing at Grievous, somewhat surprised by the revelation. getting back to the matter at hand, he glanced towarsd the Geth. "Back in the Covenent base you shot down our enemies...Geth among them. why?" inquired the General...

Grievous merely shrugged at Serephir as the Geth continued. "They are not a part of us any more. We are the true Geth. They are heretics. You fought them when they joined with the Old Machines."

The Warriors retreated from the Mawlocs, unable to do much to the massive Tyranids. Instead, they retreated back into the earth, vacating the tunnel, the Tiger Bug dragging the remains of the Ravener with it...

"You mean the Reapers? So the majority of the Geth don't support them?" said Serephir, honestly interested in the revelation...

The Geth shook its head. "No. The Geth are building our future. The Old Machines, the ones you refer to as Reapers, offered to provide technology to our cause. We declined." "But wouldn't that technology help you further your goal?" Lissarkh asked. "Yes. But we do not want assistance. The process is as important as the result. We wish to achieve our own future. The heretics disagreed. We understood their reasons, and we let them leave peacefully."

"Admirable opinion. but what were you doing there?" asked Serephir...

The Mawlocs, not about to let their prey get away, burrowed after them, their many legs pulling them quickly through the earth, steadily gaining on the Tiger Bug, which was slowed by its dragging of the corpse...

"We were searching for the reason the heretics had joined with the Covenant," the Geth replied. "Different as they are from us, they never have joined with organics before." "They joined Saren," Lissarkh hissed. "Incorrect. They joined Nazara, the Old Machine you know as Sovereign. They believed it to be a god, and Saren was its emissary. We were curious as to why they had joined with organics, when the Old Machines were planning on annihilating all organic life in the galaxy. We created this mobile platform for the explicit purpose of studying organics, and figuring out what the heretics were doing. We found what we were looking for in the Covenant databanks. The Covenant are working with the heretics and the Old Machines so that they are the only sentient life remaining in the galaxy. However, we doubt that they will survive the coming extermination by the Old Machines when their usefulness ends."

The tunnel's wall exploded again, this time in front of the Mawlocs. The new hole that had been created seemed to produce a stream of liquid flame that sprayed across the Tyranids' faces. The Tank Bug hiding in the new, wider tunnel was incapable of entering the Tyranid tunnel, but was more than happy to simply fry the creatures from the safety of its own tunnel...

Serephir sighed. "I knew it" he said. "Do you have any information on locations? bases that could be attacked, are there any Reapers currently in the galaxy?"...

"We do not know," the Geth replied. "We have spent very little time outside of the Perseus Veil, Serephir-General." "Are you sure you've never met this Geth before, General?" Lissarkh asked. "It seems way to willing to tell you anything you want."

Serephir shook his head. "I think i'd remember a friendly Geth that talked" he said. glancing towards the Geth, he said "How do you know me?"...

"We do not know you, but we know of you," the Geth replied. "Through unencrypted extranet broadcasts and data sources. You are Serephir. General. Vardian. Human. You oppose the heretics. You oppose the Old Machines, just as we do. Cooperation benefits mutual goals."

"Wasn't aware the media got that much information regarding the Reapers" said Serephir. "What suggestions can you give us on where to go next" he added...

"It is mostly transmissions from Trandosha and other affiliated systems. We watch you." "You watch us specifically, or you watch organics?" Grievous asked. The Geth paused, then replied, "Yes." "Which?" the cyborg pressed angrily. "Both." Turning back to Serephir, the Geth continued, "We do not know of any particular place to begin searching for information. You may risk entering Covenant-controlled space, however."

The lead Mawloc roared as the flames scorched its face, the two quickly changing course, each diving into the side of the tunnel, quickly disappearing from sight. Though its armor was damaged and one of its eyes was made useless, the injured Mawloc could still fight, being mostly blind anyway, instead relying on complex sensory organs...

OOC: It was fire, not acid.

The Tank Bug stayed where it was, while the remaining Arachnids retreated into their nesting area. The Mawlocs would be cut to pieces if they tried to attack the nest...

OOC: <_> Sorry.

The ground beneath the tank bug trembled slightly, the Mawlocs carefully digging away all the dirt beneath their target...

Feeling the rumbling through its sensitive legs, the Tank Bug decided to flee for the time being, heading through the tunnel it had made, back to the nesting area...
