"Good night, don't let the compies bite," Jenkins said, hopping into his own bunk. Dodgson did the same, staying near the door in case he needed to get out quick. Barnes shook his head and stood outside the door to the living quarters, rifle in hand, watching the corridor. He couldn't wait for the morning. If they managed to get to that outpost in one piece, they could quite possibly find a radio and get the hell off this island before their only transport left...

The night seemed to pass quickly, if not quietly, as the sounds of the island's prehistoric inhabitants were almost always present, alien roars and bellows echoing across the island. Barnes stood and stretched, checking his watch. It was very close to sunrise, so now was a good a time as any. With a loud bang, Barnes slammed the door open into the living quarters, hoping to jostle everyone awake, and barked out, "Up and at 'em, ladies and gentlemen! Check your gear and get ready to move! We don't have all day!"

Persephone's eyes snapped open as she got up out of the bed. She yawned, streaching her hands and arms out, before she went over to her bag and checked up on it. Last night's sleep had been something she had needed desperately, and now, she in top shape, though still lazy. THankfully, nothing had been rummaging around in her pack, so her crossbow pieces were all still there, and the snacks and her water bottle was also... most importantly, however, there was still the same amount of room in the bag...

"****, morning already?" Maxwell stretches and cracks his neck and back.

"Slept like a rock last night..." he says as he picks up his backpack and his weapons....

Barnes began pulling out MREs he had taken from the mess hall last night from his backpack and handed one to each person. "Keep these for later, or eat on the go if you're hungry now. We're not waiting for you to fill your stomachs if we an help it." Dodgson grimaced at his own MRE, stealthily putting it into his jacket pocket. He got up and did his best to smooth out his wrinkled, battered suit and re-tie his tie. Jenkins got up as well, stretching his arms above his head in a massive, exaggerated yawn, before putting on his grimy lab coat and standing up, quickly waking himself up...

Riley sighed, got up and grabbed his gear and took an MRE after hesitating. He walked out of the building, AK in hand, looking around a bit cautiously...

Hiero silently jerked in his bed at the loud noise and got up insticivly reaching for a sharp object before realizing it was just the captain. He quickly streched, got up collected his things and slung his backpack and Rifle over his shoulders, standing at loose attention.

Persephone took her on MRE, opend it up, and began to eat it. Better to get through the bland stuff now than later on... she thought as she quickly ate through it, while following the others...but not before grabbing her pack and putting it on her back.

"Alright, Doctor Jenkins," Barnes said. "What's the plan to get to that outpost?" Jenkins straightened himself up and cleared his throat. "Well, instead of hiking across the island, I know a faster route." "Yeah, last time there was a faster route, there was a whole lot of BS that went with it..." Jack muttered under his breath. Jenkins glowered. "ANYWAY, as I was saying, there is a river that runs the length of the island, and I know there is at least one cargo tram at the nearby dock. Dodgson and I both know how to pilot the ship, and we can make it all the way to the outpost with no problems from land-based predators!" Barnes arched an eyebrow at the term "land-based," but shrugged it off. They wouldn't have been stupid enough to make an aquatic animal, would they? "Alright then, I guess that's our game plan for now. Lead the way, Doc, and get us to the river ASAP. I'd rather not have to deal with... Sue if I can help it." The name "Sue" just didn't fit right with a massive Tyrannosaurus rex. Jenkins smiled. "Onward, comrades!" he shouted dramatically, marching out of the living quarters with purpose...

Maxwell follows closely behind Jenkins.

"I'm just hopin' that the river isn't home to any unpleasant critters. Probably not, but if there are, I'd suggest we keep our guns readied at all times."

He soon slings his shotgun over his shoulder, ready for action...

Persephone followed Jenkins as well, her hand in her pocket, holding her magnum. It was odd, really. Normally, she would of used the crossbow far more, but... she had been too lazy to put it together. Plus, the magnum worked fairly well against the dinosaur here, from what she saw... But that wasn't all she was thinknig about. It was also the river ride Jenkins had said. There was something in the back of her mind from a book she had read when she was younger, something that told her that a river ride wasn't the best option... At first she thought it was perhaps of crocodiles in the river, but she wasn't sure... After all, why would a crocodile attack a ship?

"Get up. we're moving" said Jacob as he removed the reinforcements on the door, his weapon in hand as he eyed the entrance warily, giving a nudge to his comrade with a foot to get him on his feet. it was time they stopped fooling around. time was of the essence, and he had no intention of wasting it...

Hiero trailed along behind though anyone who noticed could see he was deeply upset over something.

"If you hadn't been as valuable as you are, you would have lost that foot" David said, his eyes still closed. He was fully awake by time Jacob removed the barrier from the door. Being a light sleeper from habit, such disturbances pulled him out from rest with an alertness to deal with the situation at hand. If it were a dinosaur taking apart the barricade, he would have been at his feet already, fighting with his teeth bared. Seeing as there wasn't an immediate threat however, he decided to take a few extra moments to rest his eyes. Now with his partner ready to head out, David opened his eyes and without so much as a yawn, got up and readied his rifle.

"Were I any less considerate I would've left you here for the Raptors" responded Jacob casually as he kicked the door open, stepping out with his gun at the ready, sweeping right and left, making sure the service corridor was clear. he then made his way down the corridor, making a beeline for a certain area of the facility via the service corridors. he'd get to the bottom of this facility's story and he'd get to it soon. and then he'd hunt down the 'doctor'. he would be sure to share a few words with him soon....and pass his regards to his former 'team' while he was at it...

"I would've been their funeral" David said just as callously, though he really was joking. "So what the hell do you think happened to this place? I think its more than clear that this was more than just the dinosaurs getting out of hand"

As Jenkins led the group through the research facility, Dodgson pulled up alongside Barnes and whispered, "Aren't we going to find those two missing fellows first?" Barnes shook his head. "They went AWOL, they're staying AWOL. We don't have time to round up strays. If they had been real soldiers under my command, I might have changed my tune, but as far as I can tell, they won't be missed if they're stranded here. My objective now is to get everyone present alive and safe off this island." Dodgson frowned, but said nothing, which confused Barnes. Why did he suddenly care that they were missing? In all likelihood, he was worried they would stumble upon something he didn't want them to find. Whatever that something was, though, it didn't concern the Lieutenant. They almost had a way off this island, and that was good enough for him...

"So how far is this river, Jenkins?" Max asked. He didn't want to have another fiasco like what happened on the tram on their way up to this god forsaken place....

"My guess is that Jenkins turned on his 'colleagues' and struck a deal with someone. have his colleagues massacred via false information marking them as hostiles, to make him the last fully knowledgeable scientist in the place. he then sparks a breakout and locks himself somewhere safe with alot of food and drink, and lets the Dinosaurs finish off the military team that came here. he becomes indispensable, and as a result can bargain for any price he likes for the info of what went on here. Hiring a skilled Mercenary team to wipe out the security forces here wouldn't've been too difficult. expensive, yes, but not difficult. He could easily have worked it into a 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' deal. have them hit first and get payment later in the form of info. A lot of people want to know what the US military is hiding up their sleeves. they'd jump on the opportunity for information like that. Of course, with the team wiped out, their superiors would haul *** out of here as fast as possible so as not to get nailed with espionage. At the same time, the US military doesn't move in because the nature of what's going on here is obviously extremely controversial and would cause a shitstorm if the media found out. That leaves our dear Doctor alone here living off the base's supplies. He probably knew that after a while the Army would move back in to see what was left. At that point, he feigns insanity, and is taken by the soldiers sent to recover him towards the shore. they escort him there, where his partners wait in ambush. soldiers get wiped out, he gets taken somewhere out of the US Government's reach, and drifts into obscurity. a few months later, another base just like this one pops up somewhere else on the planet, belonging to the people he sold his info to, and he's living in some nice cottage in Sweden, the Alps perhaps. somewhere far away, where he can enjoy his cash and be safe from retaliation" said Jacob as he walked calmly down the corridor, checking the Maintenence map, soon reaching a large ventilation panel on the wall...

"Living in the alps with ******* Clarence, happily ever after" David said with a chuckle as he went along his way. "Christ, if he is planning that ****, then it was a good thing we broke off from the others. Still leaves the question of how we're gonna get our asses out of here" Looking at the air duct, he started to laugh again, though making sure to be quiet enough to avoid attracting dinosaurs. "Well, I asked, and this is my answer"
