Well, we can wait," the queen soon clicked, before turning to glance at her young. Some clung to the ceiling, others to the walls, the rest taking care of the eggs on the ground at the moment...

Numbers dwindling, the Raveners hiding in the walls of the tunnel began to flee, while the Hive Tyrant at the center continued to fight, blasting apart warriors with its venom cannon, crushing a Tiger Bug's skull with one strike of its rending talons, tail knocking away another group of arachnids...

One Tiger Bug leapt on the back of the Tyrant, stabbing it repeatedly with its spiky forelimbs, screeching madly as it did so...

Jessica had barely made it away from her ship when several Eclipse Troopers stepped out into the open, their assault rifles and machine pistols all pointed at the woman. A couple of Heavies appeared from the rocks as well, before Geero hopped up onto a rock in front of her and aimed his Tempest SMG at her face. "Well, aren't you a pretty little thing! For a human, anyway. It'd be a shame if I had to change that. Why don't you just make this easy for all of us and surrender quietly? We wouldn't want to get your blood all over our new ship!"

Jessica drops her weapon, seeing she can't win against their numbers. She puts her hands up. "Yeah, yeah, have fun with 'your' ship while you can........."

Geero smiled. "Glad you saw it my way. Boys, keep watch over her. I want six of you with me to scour this ship from stem to stern." Geero lowered his weapon and sauntered up to the ship, six Eclipse mercs following. The remaining five, including one of the Heavies, confiscated Jessica's weapon and kept their eyes on her warily...

Dante nodded understandingly and grunted "Understood, that's fine, just don't draw without warning and it'll go like ice. Right, less important rules; avoid eye contact with the locals, don't talk with the locals and don't wander off at any time. I can't stress how important it is that you maintain good discipline and remain as passive as possible. My squad and I are here first and foremost for your protection, do not make that job any more difficult than it needs be. Right, lets go. If you need to you can talk and walk." With that the group turned and moved off, proceeding down a short friendly corridor into the main terminal building. The doors slid open softly. There were many koult going about their business within the building, all of which immediately and deliberately looked away from the expedition party the moment the doors opened. Voices hushed slightly. 2 other suited Koult soldiers were standing in front of the door way, the crowds forming a wide semi circle around them. Dante lead the group into a lift silently, the two other soldiers falling in and forming a triangle around them.

As they moved, Mataka hissed to Taralumee apologetically "Sorry about the soldier types..."

The Sangheili squadron followed the Koult dutifully, and 'Taralumee whispered back to Mataka, "I am a soldier, Mataka. I approve of these rules, so far. Discipline must be maintained for this expedition, and my Special Operations Officer, Zuka 'Zamamee, is known for his... occasional outburst..."

The Tyrant smashes its back against the tunnel wall, crushing the Tiger Bug like an ant, before blasting another at close range, the corrosive venom causing its upper jaw to fall to the dirt...

The Arachnid Warrior wave lessens, but only long enough for a stream of flame to rain from the higher tunnel, melting through the Tyranids below. The Tank Bug, hiding in the tunnel above them, bellowed furiously before sending another deadly spray of fire at the Tyranid forces...

Moving further back out of the tunnel, the Tyranid forces move out of the line of fire, waiting for the tank bug to move down the tunnel...

The Tank Bug roared as the Tyranids retreated, and the Arachnid Warriors attacked again, dropping down from the hole in the ceiling and charging at their foes...

Meanwhile, the Burrower Bug nearby was making its way slowly towards the battle site, trying to hide its approach as much as possible...

A wave of venom cannons, barbed stranglers, and devourers shoot toward the warriors, trapping and butchering them in mere seconds causing a mound of mangled bodies wrapped in barbed fibers to form beneath the hole...

Arachnid Workers, which had appeared at the other end of the tunnel from the Tyranids, moved up to cut away the barbed strangler fibers with their bladed mandibles and forelegs...

The Burrower steadily snuck its way closer, almost crawling through the dirt rather than "swimming..."

The main Tyranid host, which consisted of hundreds of creatures even after its loses, continued further into the hive, knowing the dire situation of the other group, trying to draw the arachnids' attention...

The wave of projectiles continues, blowing apart workers as well as warriors...

Finally near the tunnel, the Burrower Bug let out a terrific surge of speed, bursting through the top of the tunnel and directly over the Tyranids after a few seconds, and smashing through their formation with its massive bulk...

Instead of turning away from the Tyrant's host, the Brain Bug simply ordered more Arachnid Warriors and Tiger Bugs towards the main host as they ventured deeper. The resistance of the Arachnids was becoming stiffer and stiffer as the Tyranids moved deeper, and it wasn't long before a fresh wave of Warriors surged towards them, a Scorpion Bug backing them from deeper in the tunnel...

The majority of the Tyranids parted, pressed up against the walls of the tunnel as the Burrower passed, some unfortunate warriors being crushed under the creature's bulk. Pressing their weapons against the body of the arachnid as it passed, the Tyranids shot corrosive venom into its hide, eating away at its body...

The Tyranid host, seeing their new enemies, immediately engaged, a large number of Hormagaunts and clawed warriors charging to meet the warriors head-on, while the Tyranids behind them fired their ranged weapons at the Scorpion in the distance, venom corroding its tail, face, and claws...

The Burrower's thick hide resisted the acid somewhat, and it swiftly burrowed away, scraping any remaining corrosive materials off its body and onto the tunnel walls. The beast quickly made a U-turn to dig its way back, preparing another ambush...

The Arachnid Warriors fought their enemies viciously, dragging crippled Tyranids back into the swarm to be torn apart, while fresh, uninjured combatants joined the front lines, stabbing and biting the Tyranid forces indiscriminately. The Scorpion Bug, its metallic armor providing some defense against the acid, opened fire on the ranged Tyranids, the plasma beam burning through several at a time and incinerating them...

The armored hides of the warriors made fighting them difficult, while the Hormagaunts swarmed in numbers dwarfing even the Arachnid Warriors, leaping onto their bodies to stab and tear at their hides. The corrosive material, specifically from venom cannons, which had the strength to melt through tank armor, began to rip the Scorpion apart, the top portion of its tail breaking away from the rest after being shot multiple times with the anti-armor weapons, melting away the carapace until the limb could not hold itself up...

A loud rumble shook the area near the second Tyranid force, slowly growing louder...

Jessica sighs and keeps her hands up. She shouldn't have followed the signal, but she'd been in situations like this before...... this time, however, she had no support......

Geero walked into the ship with his men and began looking around, seeing what salvage they could find...

The Warrior charge never halted, pushing inexorably against the Tyranid horde. The Scorpion Bug, however, retreated down the tunnel, out of range of the Tyranids' weapons. Unable to use its tail weapon, it simply turned and fled, disappearing around the corner...

The Burrower Bug struck again, this time from below, only its enormous maw appearing below the Tyranids and gulping several down, before suddenly sliding backwards, disappearing back into its own tunnel...
