Jenkins stepped ahead of the group after holstering the pistol in his lab coat, saying, "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, just another hallway or two before we--" he paused, as did Barnes, Dodgson, and just about everyone else who heard the noise: an owl-like hooting, echoing from down the corridor. Dodgson immediately backed up, and Barnes' rifle snapped up to his shoulder, but Jenkins held up his hands. "Wait, wait, I think it's just Clarence!" Barnes arched a brow, momentarily confused, before he remembered the surreal conversation from earlier, when they had first made it to the research facility. Clarence was the name of Jekins' "pet" Dilophosaurus. The name sounded familiar, and as he lowered his weapon, he finally got a good look at the creature. Clarence slowly walked around the corner farther ahead, snuffling along the ground like a dog, the remains of a Compsognathus in his hooked jaws. Raising his head, the Dilophosaurus hooted again, cocking its head curiously. Jenkins approached the Dilo slowly and calmly, saying, "Ah, Clarence, how good to see you again! I was afraid those neanderthals had blown you away without a second thought!" The Dilophosaurus merely chittered in response, gulping down the rest of his meal, but acted surprisingly non-aggressive. Barnes shook his head and focused on the task at hand. "Alright, as nice as this happy little reunion is, we've got work to do, Doctor. Get rid of your pet lizard so we can get out of here, alright?" Jenkins frowned, but he didn't argue. "Alright, alright. Everyone follow me. Don't act aggressive towards Clarence, or you'll provoke him. Just ignore him as you walk around him, like so." Jenkins demonstrated by walking casually around the 20-foot-long carnivore, the dinosaur merely staring at Jenkins as he walked past. Barnes moved forward next, weapon lowered, but at the ready, in case the animal decided to attack regardless. However, just like with Jenkins, the Dilophosaurus ignored Barnes, other than giving him a cautious sniff. Dodgson shook his head and skittered around Clarence rather quickly, making the Dilophosaurus raise its head in surprise. Jenkins hissed, "I said calmly, Lewis! Jesus, you'd think you'd never seen a Dilophosaurus before!" Clarnece, however, did not attack, merely stepping closer to the corridor wall, away from the humans, scratching his S-shaped neck with a foreclaw. "Well, excuse me for not enjoying being right next to a voracious carnivore bred to be used as a soldier!" Barnes sighed, and pulled the two angry men away from each other. "Shut it, both of you. Everyone else, come on. And whatever you do, don't piss off the lizard, got it?" Jenkins and Dodgson glared and fumed, but said nothing...
