Within a few minutes, both of their cereal bowls had been emptied. "I'll do the dishes." Minene quietly said, before she took the dishes and headed toward the sink. Tiffany simply watchedher, mentally taking down notes in her head. Yes. This would most definitely work out. She had herself a test subject, and her test subject had a place to stay, food to eat, and a warm place to sleep. First, they would go out shopping to get Minene some actual clothes to wear, then they would begin the test trials. How long this woul dlst, she didn't know, but she was gonig to take advantage of this to the fullest...

The Ascatian cruiser resided within the murky shallows it had originally settled down in the day prior, surrounded by calm water. The turtle the explorer had come across stood on the moist dirt a few yards away from the ship, its eyes resting on the crescent winged vessel. Galaak sat in his chair, going through his studies once more, images flashing on his screen and disappearing seconds later as he went onto a new subject. He had been like this for a while since his ship landed, silent and focused on his work. He was wondering if he should tell Kala about his lonesome tendencies. He had been alone for quite some time in his ship... apparently he grew fond of the lifestyle...

After a tense moment, Sam sighed and opened the door, embracing the surprised woman on the other side. "Lydia my dear," he said, all but pushing her inside, "you need to work on your habit of scaring me to death." "Keeps you on your toes," she retorted without missing a beat, smoothing her lab coat. "You're lucky Sam, it's a bit of a slow day so I've got a short break." She looked around for Atlas. "I trust your friend has seen Dean and the others already?"

Kala had settled down in a small patch of forest near Galaak's larger ship, having to rely on his shuttle's small size rather than a cloaking device to remain hidden. The thick shrubbery around the ship, and the lack of water, made it difficult to easily spot. Kala remained inside, looking over the control systems to check and make sure that everything was in order. After all, Zakai's sabotage could have caused far more trouble than just an engine failure...

"Aww, not your friend anymore, Lydia? I'm hurt" said Atlas as he walked out from round a corner as he eyed the girl, a sly smirk on his face as he leaned against the wall, arms crossed...

"That's a matter of perspective," Lydia said with a shrug. "As it stands though, you've known Sam longer than you've known me. In any case; how are they faring?" Her question was directed at the room as a whole, the brunette giving her pager a quick glance, knowing time was limited.

"Better, now that we've administered some muscle relaxant into their systems. However, I could use a hand in that regard. Do you think you could get a steady supply of Cisatracurium Besylate, and a few IV drips, brought down?" said Atlas as he checked his watch. 11:45 AM...not bad progress so far...

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

It had been a while since Aya had left the Golden Donut. It was very cold this morning; she had to roll up the windows in her squad car and turn on her heater. Otherwise, the morning was extremely uneventful. All she had done so far was drive around town, looking at anything that seemed suspicious. So far, however, she hadn't needed to do a damned thing.

Aya had pulled into a rather busy intersection when a radio came in. She answered.

"Aya, there's been a break out in the los Diamantes jail! He's on his way out into the city! Cops are looknig for him all over!"

"Alright, I'm on it," Aya replied. Well, at least she had somethnig to do....

Mortum struggled to find a way out of his prison. The guards were on him like flies on excrement. His lightning quick reflexes kept him safe from gunshots, and he had managed to get over the fence. Now, all he had to do was escape into the swamp for a little bit....

Unfortunately, that seemed to be impossible. Police had been called on, and he was being hunted for all across the area. A chopper was also called in. Thankfully, he was hidden for now.... but he had a long way until the outskirts of the city.

He worried not about his blade anymore. He remembered it was enchanted to return to him by nightfall. But he had bigger worries- he could feel his knight's form weakening. If he didn't change back soon.....

A few minutes later, the dishes had all been finished, and Minene was taking a shower. Tiffany, on the other hand, was sitting out at the front of the apartment, counting the money in her purse. IF she wanted to get Minene the right kinds of clothes, then she'd need to bring just enough money... not too much, or otherwise, they might go off on an impulse shopping spree, something that Tiffany wasn't very fond of... She closed her purse, took in a deep breath of air, then went back inside... unaware of the giant mechanical scorpion watching from a neighboring rooftop, it's 8 mechanical eyes recording everything...

Mortum had managed to get into the darkness of an alley. The blaring of sirens were audible all over the area. Thankfully, the police hafn't seen him, and the helicopter had been alluded thanks to the taller buildings in this area. Shadowy energies radiated off of Mortum's form, and the armor began to dissolve.

"Thank god," Mortum growled to himself. He would soon be free from this insanity.

Soon, the armor melted away, and Mortum returned back to Maximillion. The cops were still nearby, but Max saw there was an exit at the other end of the alleyway. Deciding not to take anymore chances, Maxwell snuck out from the alleyway, and began to head back home....

"Any information on where he was last spotted?" Aya radioed in. It was never something to shrug aside when a criminal escaped prison. The criminal was possibly dangerous, and most definitely desperate. Who knew what they would be willing to do to avoid returning to prison?

"He was last spotted in the southern sector of the city. He hasen't been seen for a while; the chopper lost his trail. Hopefully he turns up soon; he shouldn't be too hard to spot. I mean, he was wearing ARMOR."

"Hopefully," Aya said. "Over and out."

The officer sighed. This city was falling apart, and fast. Strange things had been happening... things no one could even begin to explain.

"Well well well, what do we have here, a mutant on the run from the police..." an odd voice echoed across the alleyway around Max. The voice itself was odd, sounding neither masculine of feminine, but something inbetween..." Why don't you stop for a moment and relax... they aren't going to be here for a while anyway, and you certainly look like you have the time to talk..."

As Tiffany entered back into her apartment, she saw Minene exiting out of the bathroom, apparently finished with her shower. The shorter girl was now wearing some of Tiffany's old clothes, a green shirt and brown shorts. "That was fast..." Tiffany commented, to which Minene simply nodded. "Ready to go cothes shoppnig for you?"

"Yes." the girl said quietly, with little emotion in it. This caused Tiffany to sigh, before they both went out the door and toward the nearest mall, still unaware of the mecha-scorpion watching them, the machine sending everything it saw to Dr. Craven, who was watching everything with a smile on his face from the safety of his lab.

"Good..." he coughed, ploping a cough drop into his mouth, before reaching for his cellphone. Now that he had confirmed his suspicions, he needed to make a quick phonecall...

Max's hands glow with dark energy and dissapate, as the mutant looks about in the darkness, attempting to locate the source of phantom voice. It wasn't often he was noticed, but when he was, things never went well, staying on his guard, Max spoke out to the androgenous being.

"Who are you, and how do you know of my abilities?" Max growled. He couldn't take any chances. Knowledge like that was dangerous...

Aya circled with the other police cruisers. She was sure he was somewhere nearby; Aya could almost feel a tingling sensation in the back of her mind. She wasn't sure if she imagiend the sensation or it was real, but she nonetheless spoke to her compatriots.

"I have a feeling he's around here, over."

"Hoe do you know? You've never even seen the *******," A policeman radioed back.

"I don't know how to explain it.... but I can almost sense he's nearby."

The officer sighed across the radio. "Alright alright alright. We'll stay here, but if he doesn't show soon, we're looking elsewhere."

"Understood." Aya cut communications and continued examining the area. She looked down a suspicious looking alleyway; she saw nothing, so continued on her way...

'Whoa whoa, hold it, tiger." The voice said. "I'm not here to pick a fight. I know of you powers becuase I saw the little 'incident' that occured last night, with the alien craft and whatnot, plus your little jailbreak. As for who I am..." The voice chuckled as a small figure emerged from behind a trashcan. It was only about 2 or 3 feet tall, and it wore a double-breasted black suit, complete with matching black shoes. However, what really set it apart was it's head. It was red in color, and though the creature was humanoid in shape, it would be incredibly hard to mistake it for a person. With sharp-elf-like ears, and a large head with two horns , it was more like an Oni than a human. " You my call me, Jadis" The demon said, grinning madly, its sharp teeth spreading from corner to corner of its mouth...

Max cocked his head at the bizarre creature. What the hell was he looking at? He fought monsters before- mutants created by Holden corps' waste often had to be killed, after all- but this thing seemed different from the others. Not only was it completely different in structure, but it was also sapient. And that smile.... it was somethnig so utterly disturbing he couldn't help but keep staring at the damned thing. He honestly didn't know what to say to this "Jadis". So he tried his best to seem pleasant.

"Ummm..... greetings. Since you seem to already know who I am, my name is Max," the cursed homonid replied.

Jadis nodded its head, as if it were listening to music. " Nice to meet you, Max." It grinned, before leaping ontop of the trashcan to make itself a little taller. "I'll be on my way then, but before that, I have a small question to ask of you... have you seen a witch around here? One with golden-blonde hair, out of place ballgown-like dress, a rose in her hair, with a golden smoking pipe?" It asked, twittling its thumbs around. It knew this was an odd question to ask, but if Max here knew what it was looknig for, and has seen it...

"If I have seen someone akin to that, she escaped before I could question her," Max said. He'd seen wierd stuff before, but never a witch.... in fact, now that he thought about it, he'd never seen someone with powers like him in the 15 years he'd guarded this city... odd.

Jadis sighed, the smile on his face replaced with one that showed irritation. "Is that so? How dissapointing... and here I was thinking you could help me... no matter. We'll be certain to meet again sometime, Max." The demon spoke, before he turned and began to walk away. As he did so, his form began to darken, before he seemed to melt into the darkness, the little cretin now gone...

Max nodded solemnly as the bizarre beast left his sight. Thankfully, none of the police officers were nearby, and those who were seemed to not see him. Thanking his luck, Max headed on his way back home. It had been a long night, a couragous night, an enlightening night. Hopefully, he wouldn't have to do all this breakout ******** again.

That was the worst part of his existence: being a protector, a super being, but being unable to share it. He was unsure if he trully wanted to, even if he was accepted by society, but it was a burden he felt was almost not worth it. However, that would have meant not being able to protect the city he loved.... and that was an obligation he would never look over. COULDN'T look over, even if he tried to.

Aya sighed- a sigh of resignation. He wasn't here. They had circled the are probably twenty times, and he was nowhere to be found. Absolutely no where to be found.

"Let's go look elsewhere," Aya said with a heavy heart.

"Way ahead of you," a fellow officer said over the radio irritably. The squad cars soon went off the look elsewhere... but it was becoming apparent that he would not be found so easily....

Ages of human social growth studied in a matter of hours. While he didn’t know what humanity truly entailed beyond a form of life, Galaak was able to slowly piece together a meaning. From the arts, he knew what compelled the human spirit and what it feared. What brought happiness and what delivered sorrow. In fact, he found it quite funny how similar the emotional drives of the species was to the countless others among the stars. From the fear of death to the enjoyment of life, the people of Earth were in tandem with most far flung races; a finding that lost all novelty with the Ascatian. Only few beings were able to transcend such primitive factors over the course of their evolution but only because said factors no longer affected them. An incorporeal life form that was practically immortal had no fear of death, for example.

Galaak had seen the pattern a great many times. His lifespan would undoubtedly result in even more proof of the convictions of the universe’s inhabitants. He could only hope his future self would make use of his knowledge, as he had done with his past self

"I'll get on that," Lydia replied, nodding. "Anything else?" she asked, shooting a glance at the door on the opposite side of the room. If all went well, they'd have their first set of hybrids before long....imperfect ones, but hybrids nonetheless. It was a start. They could smooth out any flaws with further testing and experimentation.
