Hiero swore in Viet. and backed away, in a weezy voice "I don't need your help I'm..." he was cut short as another bout of coughing seized him. He fell back against a wall as he clutched his sides, after the coughing subsided he reached into his backpack and brought out an ebbie pen (a sort of portable seringe). He uncapped it and stuck it into his chest. After five minutes of breathing he seemed to regain his strength just before falling back into the wall in pain. In his head he thought "As much as I hate myself for showing weakness in front of them, it's better here than when the monsters find us," then he spoke; "I won't slow you down, let us continue," he said as he stood back up fighting the pain that came with both the attack and the drugs.

Persephone looked at Hiero for a brief, split second, before looking away, a rare, almost nonexistant emotion for the woman showing itself on her face, but only for a few seconds: Sadness. It was something Persephone was unaccustomed to, but when she felt pity for someone, it struck her hard and fast. She didn't like seeing someone else in pain, with her being unable to do something about it... she wanted to help out, but she was certain she didn't have anythnig that could help out Hiero. She let out an almost unhearable sigh, one of irritance...

"Hold on a second, d*mmit!" Barnes growled, stopping Hiero with a hand on his shoulder. "Just what the hell was that? I didn't see anything about you have any medical issues in your personnel file!"

Jacob arced his back as he dropped out of the vent, landing in a crouch before straightening, moving through the room. "Well well. So far no bodies, but it's rather obvious that someone went to a lot of effort to make sure nobody could get the data on what went on here" said Jacob as he scanned the room, eyeing the door to Jenkins' office. Surprise surprise...I wonder if the good Doctor's home...then again, if he is, he knows we're here thought the man as he walked towards the door...

"Awfully convenient that only Jenkins knows about the stuff stored on the computers..." David added to what his partner said from the air duct. "Even more so that his office didn't trashed. I wonder why" He said sarcastically, rolling over within the vent and sliding himself out legs first. He dropped down into the lab and landed in a crouch. He stood up quickly and headed over to the door as well, on full alert and ready to raise his rifle at a moment's notice to destroy a threat, both dinosaur and human...

Hiero diddn't bother fighting back so instead he decided to test the mans ability to come to his own conclusions. "Techniclly I'm not sick, but what do you think happens when someone has taken a 9mm through a lung and miraculously survived by hobbling to the nearest private practice in Nang-po, China?" he said in a low gravelly voice having to still stand and speak while under a great amount of pain.

Barnes paused. "Jesus Christ... didn't you just go to a better medical center later on? God knows you had plenty of time!"

"And what if that gunfight had been the result of rather unlawful conduct," he stated with a face as cold as stone. "I'm not proud of everything I've done in my life but I have never intentionally harmed an innocent and I wouldn't then."

as Jacob reached the door, he drew his side arm, aiming at the door, firing once over where the deadbolt on the door would be, the bullet plunging through the wood, splintering it and smashing through the lock underneath, the man firing one more time for good measure, before kicking the door in...

Barnes shook his head in irritation. As much as he hated to admit it, this was wasting their time. "Max, pick him up and help him. Carry him if you have too. Hiero, swallow your d*mn pride. Thinking you don't need help is the fastest way to get eaten. Come on, we've stopped enough already, we need to keep moving!"

Jenkins' office was rather plain-looking and, compared to Lab C, very clean. Clearly the good doctor had been using the place for some time after everyone else was killed. He had a polished wooden desk littered with the usual things: a mug with pencils in it, a few scattered candy bar wrappers, and, of major interest, a working computer, completely undamaged. To the right was another door, this one identical to the one leading into Jenkins' office, and apparently leading into the room with the one-way window...

Hiero diddn't argue he knew the medication would take some time to take affect and allow him to stand on his own. Still he carried his backpack and walked for the most part on his own with one hand on his fellow merc's shoulder.

David rushed past Jacob, rifle raised. He turned from side to side in a sweeping motion as he entered the room, making sure there wasn't anything in the room despite the previously locked door. Once he saw the room was clear, he lowered his gun, taking in the fine details of the doctor's office. Upon seeing the computer, he said to Jacob "Well its good to see that he could **** around on facebook over the months"

Unbeknownst to the two mercs, David's rush into the room triggered an invisible laser tripwire along the floor just inside the door. In response, the steel door to the right opened with a muted hiss. Clearly, it was part of some security protocol, but since nothing else seemed to happen after that, whatever was inside the lab was probably gone. In fact, it was impossible to tell, as the inside of the long room the door had revealed was cloaked in pitch darkness...

Barnes paused when he heard a muted buzzing... coming from Jenkins' lab coat. As he turned, he said, "Um, what was that?" Jenkins seemed startled as well, pulling a small black device from his belt. "Oh, this? It's a personal pager I made, connected to my office's security system. It buzzes if there's an intruder. I guess our two little friends found my personal quarters, eh?" "Wait, your office? We could have had vital information from your computer!" Jenkins quickly shook his head. "Oh no, unfortunately, I had deleted the information when those other men attacked the facility to prevent it from being placed into the wrong hands. Government protocol and all that." Barnes stared hard at Jenkins, whose face was a complete blank. He had a good poker face, Barnes admitted. Finally, he sighed in frustration. "Well then, let's keep moving. We don't have any reason to linger any longer." As the group continued, Dodgson pulled up alongside Jenkins and whispered, "I thought you didn't have a security system installed yet..." Jenkins shrugged. "Well, nothing as exotic as using the animals as test subjects for protecting my office, like you suggested, but basic measures were in place. Of course, without security guards, they don't really matter, and it won't do those two much good anyway..." Jenkins shrugged it off, but Dodgson was still suspicious. He knew Jenkins well, and the man, even if no one else could tell, was at least a tiny bit agitated about this little revelation. We'll see soon enough, won't we?... Dodgson thought, continuing on...

"I'd take a guess at him doing a lot more than just '******* around with Facebook'" said Jacob as he walked in, rifle aimed at the suddenly opened door, looking through the Night Vision scope, finger trained on the trigger.

"Yeah...but what the man does when he's lonely is his business alone" said David with a chuckle as he headed over to the computer, intent on seeing if there was anything of interest on it. He didn't think Jacob would need cover heading into the newly exposed room. The chances of any dangerous animal being inside it were extremely low. With his gun's scope, the darkness couldn't hide anything from him

The computer was either powered off or simply asleep, and was likely password-protected as well. Jacob's night vision scope revealed the inside of the lab, which appeared to be fairly basic. However, the none-too pleasant stench of rotting flesh nevertheless assaulted the noses of the two mercs, and the faint outlines of several forms farther back in the room could be seen on the floor, too far back to make out any real details, even through the scope, though the shapes were undeniably human. Or at least skeletons...

Max helped Hiero along as best he could, keeping his shotgun steady at his side. Upon hearing what Jenkins was saying, he felt.... uncomfortable.

"I think we should try to meet up with them anyways. Some extra firepower is better than nothing, after all, even if they're filthy cowards. At least then they can feed something else if they flee again."

The whole time, Persephone was silent, her chin in her hand as if thinking as she followed Jenkins and Dodgson. She was secrety glad that Hiero wasn't sufering from an illness, but his condition still worried her. She did want the other members of her team to be in top condition, but Hiero's problem put a bullet through that idea, but that wasn't her biggest worry, though. In her brain, the rusty gears began to go into overdrive as she looked suspiciously at Jenkins. Something wasn't quite right here... She couldn't place her finger on it, but there was something about the man... someting about his claims that didn't quite add up in her mind...
