Zombie Outbreak RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Riker sighed and folded the map up, wishing he had some type of company, or at lest a Native New Yorker. That would be more helpful than a dirty old paper map that was on it's 'last legs.' (Meaning it could possibly rip and spit apart at any moment)

Now it was time to come down and move on. There were four zombies near the ladder and all of them were acting like drunks after a party so it should be fairly easy to escape from them.

He started to climb down the ladder, finally stopping just out of the reach of one zombie who was trying to get at him. Than he simply jumped off and over the head of said zombie and proceeded to do a slow jog away from the area, though he smartly looked behind him to make sure that none of the zombies suddenly went rabid and came bolting at him in shocking speeds. There were plenty of times he had encountered zombies that ran more like rabid wild men than anything else. Those were the main guys he often watched out for....

Despite it's small, shriveled head, the Charger, with a beastly howl, collapsed, releasing the man from its grip. Nick raced over to the man, but he knew it was far too late. The man was dead, his neck and spine snapped from the Charger's pummeling. "D*mn Chargers... Well, looks like Whitaker's gone for good..."

Vergil sighed. it was a shame. still, it didn't matter. another man was another waste of resources. they'd benefit from whatever he had stocked with him....provided they could live long enough to get to it. "No sense wasting time here...let's keep going...see what he has stocked up"...

as Riker exited the alley, a hand reached out, taking a firm grip of his arm and yanking him back and behind a car, concealing him from the street. Jose made a gesture of silence, bringing a finger in front of his mouth, then pointing through the car window. on the other side, roughly 15-20 zombies could be seen standing almost idley, swaying from side to side occasionally as if the had trouble maintaining balance. Jose then pointed further down the road, a truck parked in front of the car they currently hid behind. he then silently mouthed the word 'cover', and gestured for him to follow, moving forwards as silently as possible...

When Riker felt someone.... Or something grab his arm and jerk him, the first thing he did was jerk out a long nasty-looking black coated blade with a saw hooks in the back and a blade that was half serrated, than he realized who had grabbed him. It was...... a man. A normal breathing and very much alive human being. When he looked through the car window, he realized he had been very close at exposing BOTH of them to death. With the living dead's positions in mind and understanding Jose's best attempt at body language. He followed him as silently as possible, though keeping his knife on hand just in case...

Nick nodded, leaving the man behind and looking into the room. It was small, and had a single gun rack on the far wall near the window. The rack itself was mostly empty, except for what appeared to be an old scoped M14 rifle. On the ground, apparently dropped by Whitaker when the Charger attacked him, was a Desert Eagle Mark XIX, which Nick picked up, saying, "Niiiiice!"

The Slasher, arriving at his destination, decided to not do the typical climb up. Rather, he simply limped into his nest building, then up the stairs. He slammed the dead infected into a wall, then eagerly descended upon it with a fierce, hungry growl.

Vergil walked into the room, looking around, closing the door behind them as some mild protection, before walking over to the gun rack. he picked up the m14 and checked it's clip. empty. he then checked the chamber. mangled. "this rifle's useless" said Vergil irritably. "see if you can't find some ammunition or something" he added...

Jose passed the truck, and an SUV parked on the corner of the street. he pressed against the wall and looked around the corner, seeing the street was almost empty with the exception of one zombie feeding one a corpse. he signalled to the man to follow, and turned the corner, leaving the back end of the SUV to conceal their escape from the zombies...

After a short search, Nick found some extra clips for the pistol in a foot locker near the room's bed. The rounds were .50 caliber AE rounds, which gave the gun a lot of kick, though not much in the way of stealth. "We can take some undead freaks down easy with this," Nick said, holstering the gun in his jacket pocket.

Riker followed carefully and closely, it kinda reminded him greatly of his trips to Africa when he did Mercenary work. Except it's taking places right here in New York, With little to no resources, and the enemy is literally the living DEAD! Not a good number of soldiers and fellow mercenaries so damn high that even when they got blown in half, they never cried out in agony....

He could not help but wonder.... What would have happened if he stayed in Africa just when these walking bunch of roadkill started to show up, would things have gone differently for him? Would he have a lot more supplies, food and equipement even in a place not known for such than in this city?

"You done with my gun?" asked Vergil as he looked over his shoulder at Nick, meanwhile checking the room for anything else of value in terms of ammunition. the man had only recently been killed. following Nick's claims that he was a 'gun nut', there was bound to be at least SOMETHING of value here aside from the wrecked m14 and the Desert Eagle...

"Hey dude, you know anywhere safe nearby?" whispered Jose to the man he was walking with, the eerie moans of the creatures that now inhabited the wrecked city covering it up so that nearby zombies would have difficulty overhearing him...

Nick nodded and gave Vergil his gun back, saying, "Let's hope Whitaker didn't use up all of his ammunition yet."

Riker shook his head while looking around him quickly to make sure they had not been spotted. Than he whispered his reply. "No. I travel more than i hide. If you go hide somewhere and get surrounded. Your f*cked. You can't escape! The only places i ever take a break in are multiple story apartments with fire escapes..." Looking behind his shoulder again with a hand on his Glock.

Vergil looked around, walking towards a closet that had thus far evaded attention. opening it, he smirked. inside, there were several shelves, each for a different weapon of Whitaker's. on the middle shelf was an empty Desert Eagle clip. he grabbed it and tossed it onto the bed near Nick. "you'll need that. i suggest you load it up with some of that ammo you found". on the shelf under it, was a half empty box of 9mm parabellum ammunition...roughly 12 bullets. the kind he needed for his Berettas. he found a Beretta on the table next to the box, and, surprisingly, a silencer. "You weren't kidding when you called him a gun nut...how'd he get a silencer?" he asked, picking the weapon up and checking it. after a few minutes inspection, he decided it was in better condition than the most recent weapon in his armament. the Beretta he got from the car was somewhat dirtied and wasn't quite in perfect condition. in fact, he expected it was liable to jam in it's current state. deciding he was better off with the guns, he took Whitaker's Beretta, removing the silencer and placing it on his own Beretta, the one he had owned as a personal firearm since his police days. placing it in one of the deeper pockets of his coat, he then checked the closet more. he removed the bullets and placed them in the clips he had, reloading his current guns and the handgun in the closet, which was half full. by the end, he had 3 bullets left, which he left loose in his pocket. aside from that, there were some brushes and other gun cleaning equipment. perfect. "Hey Nick. you in a hurry to leave?"...

Jose shrugged. "Well we're gonna need to rest somewhere, man...constantly moving will wear you down, then it's even harder to survive" he whispered as he moved onwards, the Zombie too busy eating to notice them, it's back to it and the sound of it's ripping and tearing at the flesh covering the hissing of the whispers...

Riker shook his head slightly, bearly even shaken by the sounds of the tearing of flesh. "Not really. I'm used to traveling constantly, though of course back than my enemies were trying to shoot, run over or blow me to kingdom come. Not eat me.... Though i do feel somewhat tired. We should look for an Escape ladder or apartment." He whispered as he followed closely.

Nick filled the clip with ammo, replying, "Beats me how he got that. Probably has a license or something." He looked out the window, down at the shamblers that crowded the streets below. "That depends. Are you in a hurry?"

"I need to clean one of my guns. found it in a car and it's in bad condition. if i don't clean it, it'll probably jam soon" said Vergil, showing the salvaged Beretta. "I know enough about handgun cleaning to be able to be finished in about 10 to 15 minutes if i rush it. think you can hold on till then?" he added.

"Okay...but let's find a quieter place than here...maybe further down the street. there's some apartment blocks down there and the place seems quieter here than that last street" answered Jose as he kept going, hand wrapped tightly around the grip of the hatchet. he'd need to find something more adequate than that...it's length meant he had very limited range, and the fact it's sharp edges were so small meant that the area of effect for it left much to be desired...

Riker kept following closely and also kept a alert watch on his surroundings. There were not just drunk and rabid zombies around. He had encountered plenty of strange creatures that defied all sense on this world. Creatures that ate like true gluttons nonstop, monsters that crawled on walls and attacked with long tongues, all sorts of weird, nasty, disgusting, frightening and downright horrible abominations of nature itself!

He kept his reply short, sweet and most importantly of all. Quiet. "Sounds good, i don't like the streets anyway..." The ex-mercenary twitched suddenly when he thought he saw something move. 'Was that a...... No. I'm just seeing s**t...'

Nick chuckled and closed the window curtains. "It beats being out in the open with a horde of shambling undead trying to devour you alive."

Alec whispered "Yes...being out in the open is..unwise...more so at night." In the distance, he spotted a building in the park, made out of concrete painted black. The bare branches of a tree hung over head casting an ominous shadow, as the full moon was just behind it. "Park staff building...I have a feeling it doesnt have staff anymore though, but lets go Charles!" He whispered urgently, breaking into a jog...

As soon as Alec began jogging, there was a wheezing screech, and a Smoker emerged from the shadows to the far left of the two humans. With a sickening noise, the Smoker's tongue shot out, extending an impossible distance and wrapping around Alec's chest, tying his arms to his body, before the end coiled around his neck, threatening to strangle him even as the zombie began retracting its tongue, dragging the human with it...
