Zombie Outbreak RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Jose, oblivious, kept going, looking around for a promising place to stop and rest...somewhere they'd be safe from the monsters that now ruled the city...though that was a concept he knew was all but impossible...they'd have to make due with somewhere fairly safe...somewhere quiet...somewhere they could easily barricade...

Vergil had, after a few minutes of work, opened up and cleaned his gun, as well as having done some minor surface work on the others, and was more or less done, doing the final touches and reassembling the parts of the gun he had had to remove for maintenence. "hey Nick. anything you have that might need some cleaning? anything unusual on that Eagle of yours?" he asked as he was assembling his gun. it was too far to his safehouse for him to take the gun cleaning equipment with him...he'd make due and come back if he saw a serious need to...he doubted there were many survivors left at all, let alone someone who could use gun cleaning tools...

Nick examined his gun more closely. "Nah, don't think so," he replied. "It just has engravings on it, probably by Whitaker." He cast another glance out of the window. The zombies had concentrated on the street a bit more, having probably been lured by the Charger's attack earlier.

Although Riker was confident he was just seeing things that did not exist now, he wisely drew out his Glock. If that 's**t' just so happened to be something very real and very dangerous. No zombie would ever know he had shot and even possibly killed it, due to the suppressor attachment. Which made the gun almost completely silent. The only thing he feared was if it was something alive and real, was it small enough to be knocked down by the .45 ACP rounds? Could it survive and entire clip?

He decided to get it off his mind in the only way he could think of in this position right now. A whispering chat. "So...... What are you that allowed you to make it this far? I mean..... Were you a detective? Ex-military man? ....... A serial killer or mobster?"

Charles, reacting fast, picked up a branch laying under a nearby tree, charging after Alec, before bashing the branch against the coil wrapped around his chest, trying to force the strange appendage to release Alec...

Alec gasped with the hit and coughed "Try to slam the tip of that into the base of the coils!" He motioned to the tongue that lead to the zombie it belonged to. If it was impaled or sliced off, its grip would be broken in seconds...

The Smoker's grip slackened a bit, but the tongue swiftly re-tightened, and Alec continued being dragged towards the lanky-looking zombie...

Charles, readying the branch, jabbed it at the coils, the jagged end of the limb slicing into the appendage's flesh, as Charles began to heave it up and down, making the wound wider and wider...

The Smoker made a coughing, gagging howl of anger and released Alec. The zombie coughed and wheezed a few times as it slunk off into the shadows, trying to find another suitable ambush spot, leaving a small cloud of putrid green smoke behind it...

Alec shuddered before getting back onto his feet, muttering "Dirty b*tch..." To himself. He looked to Charles and said "Damn man- you really saved my a*s back there"

"Your welcome. Now can we please get out of here? I've never seen a zombie that gives up so easily." Charles replied, dropping the branch, looking around nervously...

"Who knows what that gas is gonna bring running..." Alec said, looking at the nxious vapor that dispersed in a brisk breeze that blew through. "The plan's the same, get into that maintainance shed!"

The Berserker, having finished his grisly meal of a fallen assimilator, wanders out from the dark alley and wanders the streets, looking for his assimilator allies.........

Jose avoided chuckling at the comment to avoid drawing attention, though most of the danger had passed. "Military? man, i was a construction worker...well...to be honest i was alotta things..at one point a gangbanger...plumber...electrician...was studying for Architecture when this...nightmare started. to think...one disaster blew apart all my dreams of wealth, family...happiness..." said Jose, trailing off, saddened as he remembered what he had almost gained...

"good. in that case let's get going" said Vergil as he closed the bottles of various gun blu-er and other cleaning materials, putting them all in the box by the bed. "we need to find the key to this thing. it'd be handy to have a guaranteed place to come back when we need to repair and clean our weapons...i can't carry all that with me...my safehouse is a bit of a way away...there's no doubt we're going to be running at some point" he said as he looked over his shoulder at Nick...

Nick shrugged. "Check under the bed or something. I sure as hell don't know where the key is." AAt the mention of a safehouse, he arched a brow. "You mean you HAVE a safehouse? That would've been a good thing to mention earlier, you know..."

"Well, earlier we'd've ended up having to go through the monster i was running from in the first place....trust me...you DON'T want to do that" said Vergil, before pulling a small pen-light out of a small pocket, opening it and flashing it under the bed for a second, making sure nothing was hiding underneath, before ducking down and searching. no luck. getting up, he lifted the matress. no luck there either. finally he checked the cabinet from earlier. on the top shelf, a small key could be seen, tied to a small chain necklace. obviously Whitaker had the right idea in mind with that. Vergil took the key over to the box and locked it, then put the key around his neck. "Are we set? anything else useful you see in here?"...

Nick simply shook his head and walked towards the door. "Let's get out of--" he was cut off as he opened the door. A grotesque, bloated zombie stood in the hall, obviously having been waiting in ambush. With a hideous gurgle, the creature barfed, spewing a stream of disgusting, yellowish-green bile onto Nick, who stumbled back, shouting, "Ah, sh*t, I've been gooed!" The Boomer waddled into the room, trying to go after Vergil with its claws. The bile, though already sliding off Nick's clothes and body, was luring every zombie that could smell it towards the room...

Vergil kicked the creature back, hard, knocking it back into the hallway and several feet away, before firing at it once in the forehead, slamming the door behind him and locking it with the deadbolt, not believing his luck that the key was there. he went for the cabinet, saying "Help me get this in front of the door!"...

The Boomer exploded with such violence after being shot, blood and bile covered the floor in side and outside of the room, as well as the outside of the door, only serving to intensify the stench of of the zombie-luring slime. Nick, quickly wiping the rest of the goo off his clothes and face, shoved the cabinet hard, pushing it closer to the door. The characteristic moaning of multiple zombies echoed throughout the building as a number of Shamblers worked their way upstairs...

Deciding that since Jose allowed him to hear his past jobs and careers. He might as well let him hear his. Though they are not as numerous. "I was a corrections officer in another state, was working there for.... Eight years, still keep the service revolver with me. You wonder why there would be a prison where the guards are allowed guns but if you saw the inmates caged there. You would not be surprised. I also went to Africa a lot. Either to hunt big game or..... Do 'jobs' for certain types of people..." The ex-mercenary trailed off at that part. Wondering if he should really tell Jose about that part of his life or not.

The Berserker wiffs the air, catching a wiff of the bile. The starving zombie decides to pursue the smell, bellowing loudly, heading the the direction of Vergil and Nick's hiding place........

Victor decides to look for other people, having been alone since his encounter with the assimilators. Picking up his magnum and his pack of cigarettes and food, Victor begins to head outside of the department store when he hears the berserker's roar. Knowing the beast had caught a scent, Victor heads towards the direction of the roar, ready to teach the beast a lesson.
