The moment the Spino rose out of the water Hiero looked up with the satchel charge in his hands and the remote trigger in the other. If it came down he'd rather die in an explosion than be eaten. Fortunetly it went after someone else and he finally let his breath go. "Commander I have a Semtex satchel charge, if we can somehow attach it to that thing maybe we can drive it off or better," Shouted Hiero, he knew the dangers and wouldn't proceed on his own this time.

Barnes winced as the Spino dragged one of the mercs under, before turning to Hiero. "Good idea. Toss it when--" The boat rocked again, and Barnes stumbled backwards, knocking into the railing and nearly falling over the side. The Spinosaurus' head emerged again, right over the stunned Lieutenant, bringing its powerfully muscled forelimbs to bear this time. Each of its fingers were tipped with a gigantic, meathook-shaped claw. Barnes barely managed to roll out of the way as the predator slammed a claw into the deck of the ship, denting the metal and nearly puncturing it with a single blow. "Throw the satchel! NOW!" Barnes shouted, firing up at the Spino's thick-scaled chest, which didn't seem to do much to the beast...

Persephone was unloading arrows like a madman, loading them up from her backpack and firing them at the Spinosaurus. She was skilled with it, and for good reason; most of her work as a mercenary was with the crossbow, and she had learned how to fire it as fast and as accurately as possible, and now she was aiming for the beast's eys, throat, and it's mouth... no creature liked having an arrow stuck at the back of it's throat...

Max aimed for the beast's eye again, but he missed and ended striknig the thing's snout. firing again, he struck its crown this time, dead in between its eyebrow ridge...

Riley put his hands over his head as the spino's claws dug into the boat, almost right next to him. He quickly got up and dove to the other side of the ship, grabbing his gun and turning, firing right at the beast. He managed to nail it right in the eye with a shot from his AK...

The Spino's pain-addled screech was deafening as the AK round pierced its left eye. In blind rage, the creature flailed madly, smashing the boat to the side as it hastily dove underwater again to relieve the stinging pain of its fresh wounds. Barnes sighed with a mixture of frustration that the Spino had retreated before the satchel could be thrown, as well as relief that it HAD retreated at all. He shakily got to his feet, grunting, "I'm getting too old for this sh*t..."

Riley stumbled backwards once more, but managed to stay up this time. "Hiero, the moment that ****** rises up from the water again, blow it's *** sky-high!" he shouted, reloading his half-empty gun...

Persephone nealy toppled off her feat as well, but this time, she managed to stay up, without going near the railing. She loaded up another arrow, scanning incase the Spinosaurus were to come up again... If it did, she'd nail it dead on...

Max stumbled back to his feet, nearly losing his shotgun with the beast's second disappearence.

"We need to make SURE it doesn't," Riley responded to Maxwell, before walking further away from the edge of the boat...

Rick had managed to hit the Spino with a burst from his Carbine when the head had emerged, but although some of the shots did hit it, only two of them had come close to the eye and even then, they had hit the scales beneath the eye. The merc kept his gun ready, despite seeing the creature lose it's left eye. He fully alert, watching the sides carefully for any part of the creature to emerge from the water...

"Oh, I think we've taken care of that little problem for the moment," Barnes said, hefting his rifle. "Everyone keep an eye on the water, in case it comes back before we get ashore..."

While all this happened the shock at the Spinosaurs sudden reappearence caught Hiero unawairs and accidently dropped the trigger, though thankfully it was not primed. While all that had happened Hiero went chasing after it and grabbed it just before it slide off the side and into the murk. Hiero then rushed to the center of the boat again and preformed all the preperation steps nessisary. "Alright... the charge is primed the next time that thing comes up I'll do my best to stick it," he said hurriedly.

There was a rustling as David made his way through ferns and bushes, ears on alert for any sound that didn't match his or Jacob's movement through the undergrowth. The trees were dark colored with moss and vines thriving on them. The dirt was soft and moist. It all seemed so primeval, fitting for a realm that belonged to beasts from the distant past. The sound of the flowing river helped guide David as he moved through the jungle. If there was a boat house, it would not be too far away from the main facility and would be along the river. He pushed through one last line of plants, coming to a branch of the river heading farther into the jungle. Looking down its length, he saw a black metal building, isolated and worn. It was wide and had a rounded metal roof. A fence surrounded it and on the waterfront, two large doors were shut. "Well this looks promising" he said aloud...

"Let's hope it's what we're hoping it is and not some random holding pen or something. After seeing Jenkins' office, I'm starting to wonder whether real world logic can be applied here" said Jacob as he walked towards the structure, scanning it and it's surroundings for signs of movement. With a bit of luck they wouldn't have to smash through the fence to get at what was behind it...he didn't want to waste his resources on trivial things. As well equipped as he was, that equipment was finite...

After a short while of walking, David came what seemed to be the gate, the steel retaining a silvery finish despite the time of abandonment and cease in maintenance. Running along the top of the fence was double coiled barb wire. Clearly, it was high quality material and meant to be strong, explaining the lack of electronic mechanisms. The entrance was kept locked by a simple metal latch that crossed the width of the gate and slipped into a slot on the other side. David lifted the latch and pushed the gate open with only the smallest hint of a squeak from the hinges, stepping into the compound...

The compound had certainly seen better days. Overgrown foliage wrapped the fence in a green, vine-strewn embrace, attempting to do the same to the structure proper. It wasn't directly on the river, so it clearly wasn't a dock for a ship. In fact, in looked more like a garage of some kind...

As Jenkins led the boat further, the jungle began to close in around them once again, leading into the root-choked mangrove swamp. The scientist at the helm sighed with relief. His plan didn't go perfectly, that much was for certain, but at least he could play it off like a freak accident. Animals were unpredictable, after all...

Jacob walked into the building, following David, closing the gate behind him as he moved into the building itself. As he entered, he was met with the smell of stale air, the dust floating in a thick cloud, giving substance to the shards of daylight piercing through the more or less intact windows. looking around, Jacob found himself in what looked like a miniature workshop, the door at the end exposing them to the larger chamber that made up the majority of the building...

David made a whistle that resounded in the still air of the building. It was a garage indeed, spare parts and tools lined up on the walls. Tanks of gas were lined up neatly in one corner of the structure with workbenches nearby. Cables and rope were hanging by hooks in the wall. David's focus was caught, however, by the vehicle residing at the center of the facility. A Humdinga 4X4 given a brown camouflage paint job. Mud coated its undercarriage, telling a story of good use before disaster struck. Its front end was facing a ramp that led down into a murky pool of river water that welled up behind the large doors. "We came for a boat, and we got something that can go over land and the water. My my, what a sight..." David said, before breaking out into hearty laughter. He walked over to the driver's side and leaned over the door, checking the gauges and for any signs of damage.

Jacob chuckled. "Try not to tempt fate too much though. We can celebrate when this mess is done and overwith" he added as he started looking around for anything useful in the abandoned garage...
