IK, those are not in game animations, it's just a scene cooked up by a bored animator. Making animations suitable for in game use is a bit more complicated, as they have to work seamlessly with the code.
It's bizarre how interested in this game I am. I frequently check up on it to see how its going, more so than other games that I'm looking forward to. But to be honest I have serious doubts about weather or not it's going to be any good.
When did they first announce it? Back in Autumn, of 2009. The original plan being to spend a year making a quick multiplayer game in order to raise funds for them to work on their generic epic fantasy game, 'Lightspire.'
10 months later, they announce that they are swapping over to UDK and had replaced all the art assets which they had created.
It's been nearly 1 and 3/4s years, and we have videos of game play now.
The in game animation I've seen is quite impressive and the visuals are nice.
On the other hand, they released a video of the T-rex. And didn't include a single kill. (not counting when they kill the t-rex near the end, I mean the t-rex killing them)
This worries me, greatly. They didn't even show us some sort of crappy place holder kill. You could say they wanted to wait till it was ready, but why then did they make the video in the first place? and why did they show us the crappy shooting and the buggy as hell raptor pounce?
Indie titles are kept a float by interest from their communities, donations, etc. If they've been working as hard as they say they have, then where the hell is all this work?
So I ask you, RPGT:
How do you feel about what we've seen/been told about of Primal Carnage?
