Realms of the Dragons RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

They had flown all over the area..the lucky dragon escapped. John did not wish to push his luck..they had taken some losses and it was time to return to base. The CFA-44 flew around, the lights on its wingtips were now flashing purple. The other pilots narrowed their eyes and after several moments, they all gotten the question. They were gonna return back to base..Two confirmed kills and a downed bogey. They would return later to look for the target and destroy it..

John wanted to speak, he wanted to celebrate with his other pilots but they retained their disiplince. No words were spoken..the combat data was filmed by the jets and soon, this data would be given to others so more possible ways of fighting the dragons would become possible.

Their statergy and plan was rather basic..using lights and beacons to warn each other and give orders without risking using easily vocal communication. Had these been differnet pilots..it would be much difficult and perhaps each pilot sent on that mission would die. John sighed..radar was clear and soon, moving just above the speed of sound..the remaining American Fighters accelerated towards base.

Missiles and fireballs flew through the air, destroying eachother as the two clashing beings repositioned themselves. Frank narrowed his eyes at the dragon across from him, the Ka-50's rotters humming the only sound around them. The red behemoth roared, rocketing forward as it fired a few balls of flame from its maw. Frank maneuvered the helicopter into a barrel roll, easily avoiding both the fireballs and the dragon itself, swinging around behind it as four missiles launched from the chopper's wings. The dragon looked back at the missiles, but discovered the attack too late, the anti-tank missiles exploding against its hide, open wounds appearing on its back, sending it hurling toward the ground. Not waiting for the behemoth to recover, Frank powered the chopper forward, the cannons firing a stream of bullets into the falling dragon's open wounds, further damaging the beast, but surprisingly didn't damage the spine, which was now an open target without the thick scales protecting it.

The dragon swung around, covering its face as the bullets sank into its scales, but couldn't pierce them. Pulling the chopper into hovering, Frank stopped momentarily, firing missiles from the chopper, the twin missiles swerving toward their target, which squeezed its wings together after one giant flap, the missiles zipping past the red behemoth. Frank clenched his teeth, pulling back the chopper, making it dunk under the incoming dragon, which flew overhead. Suddenly, the missiles plowed into the dragon's back once more, the beast howling in pain as its spine snapped from the explosion, plummeting toward the ground, the explosions overhead making the Ka-50 shake, but Frank quickly gained control once more. "Dodge that ya b*stard..." Frank said, relaxing as the helicopter hovered in place. "Very nice Frank! A bit long to kill the damn thing, though. Be quicker next time." a voice said over the radio, a few other helicopters appearing in front of him. "Ahh, but I made it last that long on purpose, Rico, I wanted a fight, not a slaughter." Frank said, smirking to himself. Frank himself was from Russia, as with Rico and a few others in his small group, others being from America and the UK, but together the group had moved around the remains of Europe, moving from the remains of military outposts, refueling and resupplying their machines, as well as taking out any threats along the way...

a loud thump was heard as the Wyvern landed in the main hall of a massive scientific arms facility, a massive hole in the dome above it, the metal mangled from the attack of a larger Dragon, a decent sized hole in the otherwise fairly intact dome. the Wyvern landed on a large slab of concrete that had fallen off the wall, onto what could only be assumed to be a large statue, as the slab lay at an angle, allowing for the Wyvern to slide down to the floor. it looked around. a few chittering sounds marked the presence of several small Dragons. the Wyvern began to explore, it's eerie yellow eyes staring out into the darkness of the unlit halls around it. this was a massive facility, and, from what he had seen, was a major source of weapons and fuel for the survivors who used to frequent it. if enough humans still new about it, it would make for an interesting source of entertainment...

Frank and the group of helicopters pressed forward, searching for yet another abandoned base, to refuel and maybe find some food and water. Even though they had more then enough fuel and supply of weapons to last another day, it would be foolish to leave a base without refueling completely. Soon they spotted a large domed military base, a large hole in the dome, but was otherwise fine. Frank descended slowly, landing the helicopter, as did his companions, a large distance from the base. If something did dwell inside, which was a common thing, they wouldn't want their only means of transportation damaged. Above, three Hinds moved on with the group, the massive assault helicopters ready to blow apart anything that came out of the base...

The pilots relaxed. They were back in safe and allied territory. All over radar..patrols of F-35's and F-15's displayed themselves, even if they were over one hundred miles off. Long convoy's with tanks, anti air turrets and SAM's were still heading towards the base which was quickly developing. The jets began to slow down..

"Ground Control..this is LT Commander John Roland, permission to land" John stated into the radio, waiting for the response.. Finally they could talk..the sounds of missles firing, combat noises and the roar of the engines was just driving them insane but they were safe now. It was good to hear his voice again.

"Permission granted..welcome back" The reply was simple yet it brought confidence and relief in the American Pilots. Soon enough in the makeshift airfield..the jets moved into formation..landing one by one.

The base was growing becoming bigger and much more powerful..filled with Anti Air missles and other weapons, designed to kill the dragons. They were several miles out of hostile area..they were clear. While the base commnader must have relaxed by now..he must have been slightly happy that two confirmed kills were accomplished.

hearing the sound of helicoptors and approaching soldiers, the Wyvern made use of it's surroundings. leaping up to the ceiling and disappearing as the creature watched the soldiers...

The group arrived at the main entrance to the base; a small door on the side of the structure. Most carried M4 rifles, a few carrying only handguns, none of which would damage a dragon very much. They would try to flush the dragon out, and let the experienced pilots in the air take care of it. Frank signaled for them to stop silently, then pulled a hand grenade off of his belt. Pulling the pin, Frank chucked the grenade inside, the group moving to either side of the door as an explosion sent dust and debris out of the door...

the Wyvern watched from the shadows as the explosion killed a couple of small Dragons, barely larger than cats. it lay in wait to see the humans that had stumbled upon it's new domain...

After a few moments of silence, Frank eventually signaled for his men to move into the building. Viewing the remains of the smaller dragons, they moved on none the less, knowing the danger wasn't over yet. On many occasions had large dragons used these abandoned bases as homes, and each time they slaughtered them. Frank and the group moved forward, facing different angles, trying to watch every corner of the base at once...

the Wyvern followed intently, making use of his ability to teleport to move to different places in the area without being seen, following the group while using the debris in the area as cover to hide his presence...

Moving through the base, the group finally reached a large room, the room itself acting as the base's supplies. Many packet meals were left, a few being torn open from what they assumed to be the smaller dragons, though it wouldn't exactly be the best food for a dragon. Frank signaled for two of the group to guard the door, while the rest searched the room for anything other then food. Soon they found a working faucet and a medicine cabinet, shoving whatever they could get a hold of into large bags they brought from the choppers...

with the group out of reach to the helicopters outside, the Wyvern decided it was time to strike. hanging off the ceiling of the hall outside the room, it looked down at it's targets, mouth open, it's teeth barely exposed, it's yellow eyes shimmering in the darkness. it made a low rattling growl as a small quantity of saliva dripped from it's mouth and onto the head of one of the guards, before teleporting in front of them, invisible...

Immediately, the man guarding the door, Brock, fired a bullet up at where the liquid had fallen, smacking his comrade next to him as they moved back into the room, shutting the doors, which locked with a primitive system; a large metal slab keeping the double doors from opening. Brock moved over to Frank, tapping him on the shoulder. "We have company..." he whispered, heading off to watch the door, which was now being guarded by three other people. Frank grimaced, knowing this would be a difficult journey back to the outside. "Be ready...If thing is too much for us, I want you to blow the **** out've half of the base...Just wait until we are OUT of that half..." Frank said into a small radio in his hand. "Roger." a voice said, Frank putting the radio away as he picked up the bag, thinking of what would happen...

the next thing to be heard in the room was whispers. uncomprehendable, but loud, almost deafeningly loud. the Wyvern was still outside, looking through a small window on the door from further up the wall...

Frank and the group looked around, caught off guard by the tactic. It wasn't completely unknown, but it was rare...The group had seen dragons of many types, and mind games were used by a few species of the beasts. Frank glanced at everyone, silently telling them to remain calm, making a motion with his hand to his mouth, signaling for them to be silent the rest of the way outside, just by chance that the beast could use that against them. Soon they were all ready, searching for another way out of the room...

the whispers seemed to fade slowly, eventualy falling silent, the only sounds in the building coming from the echoes of the soldiers' movements or the fall of droplets from the ceiling of the building as a result of the condensation of the late afternoon mist, the sun going down...

Frank pulled a large shelf away from the wall, relieving a small doorway, the hallway inside not allowing 2 or more people to stand side by side. "Bingo." Frank whispered to himself, turning around as he signaled the group. Yanking the door open, he gestured for them to go in, unsure where it would lead, but anywhere was better then here. As the last of the group filed in, Frank grabbed the door, pulling out a grenade from his pocket. Pulling out the pin with his teeth, Frank threw it to the door on the opposite side of the room, closed the heavy metal door behind him, following the rest of the group...

the Wyvern watched from the corner of the room as the explosive blew rubble around, the door itself being damaged as a bit of rock flew at it. the Wyvern's now visible form quivered slightly as the rock passed through it, smashing against the wall behind it. it knew where the small tunnel went. it moved a large piece of machinary in the way of the steel door, sealing it in place, and immediately moved to the otherside of the hallway, exploding into a black cloud of smoke which swiftly disappeared, a slight distortion in the air where it had once been...

on the other side was a small office, with one other door leading to a corridor. as the humans got closer and closer to the Corridor, the whispers would return, getting louder and louder as they went...

As the group reached the end of the small passage, the lead, Rico, opened the blast door at the end, raising his gun as the group ran in to combat any threat waiting for them. As Frank came out of the doorway, he surveyed the room; a small office space. The whispers seemed to get louder when he made a move toward the door at the opposite end of the room, Frank thinking over the entire situation. "Brock...When you ran in, you didn't see anything outside of the supply room, did you?" Frank questioned, turning to his comrade. "No Sir, the b*stard was drooling on me. Nothing was above me by the time I looked up, probably moved away..." Brock said, shrugging. Frank shook his head. "I think I have an idea what we're dealing with..." he said, walking forward. "Give me the Saw." Frank demanded, holding out a hand.

"What do you plan to do?" one man said, looking down at his weapon. "Just give it to me." Frank said, his expression showing that he was completely serious about the matter. Handing over the weapon, Frank threw the man his M4, heading toward the door. "No one follow. I'll scream when I need you." Frank said, opening the door. Closing it behind him, Frank walked forward, but suddenly began opening fire at the hallway in front of him. The men inside rushed to the door, peering out of the window, but seeing nothing. Frank moved forward, firing off a burst every few seconds, finally reaching the end of the hall. Turning suddenly to face the new hallway, Frank opened fire once more, sending a stream of bullets forward, some disappearing from sight randomly.

"I found you!" Frank yelled, grabbing a grenade from his belt, the last of which he was carrying. "And I give you this, as a gesture of saying 'Shut the F*CK up'!" Frank yelled, referring to the whispers, throwing the grenade straight at whatever was in front of him, the grenade bouncing off and hitting the wall next to the invisible creature, Frank bolting back down the hallway, racing toward the door...

the Wyvern moved swiftly, having distorted his appearance as he shifted to the other side of the corridor, out of range of the explosive, leaping up and clinging to the high concrete ceiling as the whispers faded, the Wyvern remaining invisible as it did...

he charred, burned corpses of several people seemed to walk forward, blocking the hallway from both sides. some looked like civilians, others like doctors, their charred, blood-stained coats covering their bodies tightly as if stuck on during a fire, some others in dresses, even more in military outfits. their mouthes were rattling and moving wildly as if they were having seizures, bloody foam coming from their mouthes as thet edged forward, seeming to be the source of the whispers. a few words could be heard in their whispering voices as the foam poured freely from their mouthes. "KILL" was one of the words coming from them, though it seemed to be coming from a combination of mouths, each mouth contributing a part of a sound to make the word, rather than the whole word coming from one mouth. "DEATH" was another word that came shortly after. the whispering became more rushed as the flesh on their faces began to fall off, now looking more like flesh covered skulls than rotting scalps, as the group of corpses edged nearer, their whispers of torture and pain filling the hallway...
