Space E-war

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Karan, after along period of silence, said grimly "Bias, considering the floods habits, I think the aliens would thank us for delivering the fatal blow before the flood reaches them.... Besides. Containment is the number 1 priority. We cannot risk the flood spreading. We contain them, THEN we kill them..."

A voice interupted him "S.A Starlight on the line. Within targeting range of aliens, commander." Karan replied "Disable them. If the flood do get on board we don't want them escapeing."

A staggerly huge distance away from the battle, the S.A Starlight floated through space... the thick semi'circle like battle ship angling its aspect towards the battle. The ship was shaped like two cresents perpendicular to each other, the vertical one being much smaller than the other, possessing most of the crafts weapons.

A slideing panel opened up on its left side, a logn rectangle slideing out. Suddenly three long barrels shot out of it, locking into place. the weapon clicked a few degress to one side, then begun swinging back. A blast of flame eurupting from each barrel orange lights zipping away into the darkness of space.....

mere seconds past as the plasma shells completed their journey at faster than light speed. A huge explosion suddenly spread across the Executioner's shield, another one eurpting out of nowhere almost right away. One final shot came through, this one zipping through the flames and hammering into the Executioners hull....

It was best to damage the formidable ship before the flood could get a chance to pilot it. With something that big under their control, they would be much more dangerous.

three low booms were heard within the Executioner as the impacts hit the shields, damaging them somewhat, the holes in them swiftly closed as the shields went into Advanced Defense mode, adjusting to handle the force of the blows while the onboard repair systems worked on repairing what minor damage had been done by the blasts. "Commander. Activate the long distance scanning systems. find out who fired at us and return fire immediately" came the Admiral's voice, sitting calmly in place as the computers aboard the Flagship scanned through security records from the outside, the direction was quickly established. as the long distance scanners were activated, the attacker was swiftly spotted. 10 large barrels were revealed from within the Executioner's streamlined hull, and the ship began returning fire, barrage after barrage of red plasma beams being fired at the attacker...

split seconds later, the barrages began colliding with the hull of the Starlight, pounding into it's shields, the hull soon following as the steady battering penetrated the shields protecting it...

"General. it seems they are using Very Long Range Artilliary. Please advise on a course of action" said the Admiral. "Send a radio broadcast to them requesting identification. keep the long range scanners active and hold fire. redirect part of the PSC's power to the shields, make sure they're capable of withstanding whatever form of weaponry they decide to fire. have the fleet ready to destroy them if they continue to attack" said Serephir. "Sir...scanners indicate the long distance attackers may not be connected to the ones just outside of the planet's atmosphere" responded the Admiral. "Contact the long distance attackers first. perhaps their attacks were innacurate and aimed at the others" responded Serephir. it was an unusually diplomatic take on events considering they were being shot at, but they didn't want to risk unnessecary war with an unknown race, especially with the potential scale of matters. Vardia was a thus far neutral faction on an official scale. the last thing they wanted was to get on the wrong side of a larger alliance of factions. sighing, the Admiral gave the order...

"This is the H.V.M.S. Executioner of the Vardian Star Force. Identify yourself and identify cause of hostility immediately" came the Vardian Admiral's voice over a transmission directed at the Starlight, only hoping the General knew what he was doing...

The Starlight weaved in and out seemlessly, most of the shells missing, the battle ships shields only just wide enough to protect the ship, allowing it to keep maneuverability. The rim of the horizontal crescent glowed for a moment and then a bright green lance of light shot out, slicing into the executionors shield. The giant range of the weapons making targeting difficult, but the Executionors larger size compensated for that. Another burst of shells struck the flagship, targeted towards the rear of the ship, the explosions different now, bright red lava like flames licking across the shield with incinerateing heat...

Karan growled to bias "Excellent. The aliens are preoccupied. We should be able to move in undetected and eliminate the flood."

"No response, General" said the Admiral over the radio. "Continue to fire, Admiral. if they are unwilling to identify themselves or stop, we'll have no choice but to outright destroy them. have the ships guarding Geonosis come to Trandosha. have them fire with the Executioner at the attackers, and, should the ones closer to the planet continue their offensive, have the fleet redirect fire at their capital ships. have the Goliath, Gigante and Posiedon land at Grievous' spire. i'll operate the troops' action from then onwards" said Serephir. the Admiral nodded, saluting the Vardian General before the hologram faded, Serephir's screen closing as he looked over at Grievous...

"My Lord, probes have confirmed an attack" The Grand Admiral swiftly reported as he looked towards the Dark Lord of the Sith who was in his usual spot. With news blaring..the Imperials were quick to see what was going on. Whatever attacked Grevious had a chance to attack them.

"Attack?" Revan asked. There was no attack in action by Imperials as of now. The massive Imperial 501st Armada was ready to move should it be needed. Grevious's forces however were getting pounded.

Holograms from the probes near Trandosha was showing signs of the battle. "It seems my Lord..Grevious has dome something. As for those..things..those things resemble those creatures back at the temple" Piett responded, his eyes narrowed as he scanned through the data.

"There was a reason I ordered that temple and its surface destroyed. Prepare for assault" Revan ordered.

"My Lord..on whom?" Piett then asked. Revan did not clarify..

"All of them" Revan simply commanded. It was time for the Imperials to stop playing war games..the famed signature Armada was armed with newer and much more deadlier Star Dreadnoughts. Piett thought for a moment..before responding.

"While we can take advantage after that battle..there is some problems..as you can see..a massive flagship by the looks of it is defending Trandosha. Its not Grevious..but instead, one of Grevious of their allies.." Piett added.

Revan turned back as he watched the data..still wondering if he should proceed and join in the fray..

The green beam continued to sweep across the executioners shield.... The beam dulled for a moment, almost fading from view before a white surge of energy flooded into the shield suddenly lighting the shield itself ablaze...

A number of the vardian shots missed oddly, the Starlight constantly using decoys to disrupt incoming fire. Some of the shots missed naturally. In terms of position, the Starlight had a huge advantage, with the executioner shilhouted by a planet and at the worst aspect possible.

For now, the Starlights plasma artillary kept the fire up, the fire sapping the shields energy away.

as the shots of the Starlight deflected off the Executioner's shields, the fires swiftly extinguished by the lack of fuel, some of the shots bouncing back in the same direction they came from, the Executioner's artilliary continued to fire mercilessly, the beams going from a simple Red Plasma beam to advanced Ion and Particle blasts, the blue beams zapping at the craft with pinpoint accuracy, the wall of beams beginning to hit their target. with the exact range determined, a small, supersleek capsule was released from the surface of the craft, all stealth systems activated as it slipped into hyperspace...

And with that, the ion cannon had done its job, every single particle making up the Exectioners shield annihilated by the huge chain reaction.... The laser had failed its job in breeching the shield so the ion cannon could tag the ship itself, but the shield was enough of a prize. Another burst of plasma shells rained in, each one crashing into the side of the executioners hull, explosions ballooning out of the impact zones.

The Starlights nano shields had been severely damaged, the rear shields deactivated to spare nano bots to keep the front ones active, seeing as no attacks were incoming there. Besides, the pursuit cruisers could cover it if needed.

"ADMIRAL! the shields are down! the destroyed them in a single shot!" said the Commander, panic obvious in his voice as a series of booms shook the flagship slightly. "put the shield generators on full power. we need to be able to regenerate the shields faster than they can damage them. Computer! has the record on the events leading to the shield's destruction been recorded?" said the Admiral calmly. "Yes, Admiral. scanners indicate Particle Ionising capabilities in one of enemy Cannons. the shield's substance was ionised and subsequently obliterated with conventional fire" said the Computer. the Admiral nodded. he had hoped that this kind of technology wouldn't have been developed outside of Vardia's former Empire's forces. apparently, he was wrong. "Activate the point defense guns. if this is anything like what the Saradian Empire used to use, that should help neutralise the effects of this beam". the problem was there were very few of those in the Executioner's defenses. perhaps 10 in every mile's worth of the hull. the chances of them preventing the beam's attack entirely were relatively slim if it had more than one of those Cannons...

Meanwhile, a sleek capsule emerged from hyperspace, followed by 13 others, which attached to the stern of the attacking craft...

"Boa-Strike ready, sir" said the Commander. "Commence fire" said the Admiral. hitting a switch at the control panel, a large cannon emerged where the 10 used to be, the cannon itself resembling a spear with a bore at the front. a loud boom was heard as the cannon fired, a rich yellow beam firing right in the direction of the attacking craft, boring through the shields as it swiftly closed in on the hull of the attacker, it's accuracy perfect, inevadable...

Bias bobbed again. "Gladly! My Sentinels will help in the eradication of the Flood menace. Shall we depart?"

Grievous looked back at the hologram. "I will lead the ground forces against this... parasite. OOM-6 will have my fleet operate, and assist your Vardians."

After a confused pause, the Jiralhanae fleet opened fire on every ship at once, sending Energy Projectors and Plasma Torpedoes in practically every direction towards the enemy ships. One Assault Carrier broke away from the fleet and barreled its way through the enemy ships, losing its shield and taking a hit to the starboard side, but it kept going towards the planet. There didn't seem to be any Sangheili ships, so Nerus, in his flagship, the Tenebrous, focused on simply destroying the Flood infestation down on the surface, even if that meant destroying everything else as well.

Meanwhile, at the base on Trandosha, all hell had broken loose as the TGDA forces focused on fighting off the Flood attackers, which swarmed inexorably towards them. They could have escaped through the cave system, but they had been blocked off there as well. Red-eyes stampeded out of the tunnel, attacking anything in sight, angered by this disturbance in their territory...

The Starlight was thrown back by the shockwave of the weapons impact against the shields, the nano bots being fried instantly, the only thing between the Starlights armoured hull was a horde of nano bots, desperately sacrifcing themselves.

Karan's eyes widened and he shouted "By all means! Go GO GO!" He flicked down his goggled and shouted again "Weapons hots! Take out that cannon before it turns the Starlight into slop!" Throwing stealth out the window, the pursuit cruiser's weapons powered up. Its main cannon, stationed on the ships bow, rotated around from its previous target, set up a firing solution, then fired a single shell out, the orange orb hitting its mark, crashing into the large cannon currently pulverising the starlight and explodeing, penetrating into the weapons interior. This was a big set back. That shell was ment for the Flood.

Bias floated away, casually humming to himself. He could simply fly out one of the airlocks of the ship, once he found one.

Meanwhile, on the other ship, Elch sent a message to Karan through his COM. "Sir, permission to take a dropship to the surface of the planet and deal with the Flood more directly."

Nerus ship, which would have glassed the base, had stopped above it for repairs. Of course, the Chieftain wasn't a fool. He was far away from the actual ground, sending troops and vehicles down through a Grav Lift that was very carefully guarded.

In the midst of the massive space battle, thousands of Sentinels appeared from Slipspace. The drones had combined themselves into octahedral formations made of dozens of the machines, combining their shields and weapons power exponentially. They joined in the fight, firing at any ship that wasn't considered friendly. Each beam from one of the Sentinel formations was enough to take out a single ship in one shot.

a rumbling boom could be heard within the Executioner as the blast went into the barrel, causing damage to the generator void within the gun where the component beam generated the blast. "Sir, the Shredder Particle Cannon's been disabled" said the Commander. "Damn...redirect the focus of the guns to that target don't stop until we're sure it's destroyed" he said. he then began giving commands to the other ships in the fleet...

the three Transport Cruisers landed in an open area not far from the spire, Serephir monitoring them from above. "The Admiral can take care of things in space. i'd say it's time we took care of this infestation on the ground" he said, looking at Grievous as dozens of gunships, helicopters and mechs marched out of the three massive Transport Cruisers...

Grievous nodded, finally turning away from the hologram and heading out of the room, back to the shuttle. "Time to teach that parasite that Trandosha is not to be trifled with!"

Serephir followed Grievous, giving an order to the Commander in Charge of the ground forces to prepare to march, and that living troops were to remain on board the Cruisers. dealing with a parasite like this with human beings was risky...it'd be fueling the fire if he took troops in...

Once everyone boarded the shuttle, it took off, heading for the base, but landing outside the walls, amongst the boulders and rocks. grievous climbed out, looking around warily. He had seen the massive Assault Carrier over the base, and wasn't taking any chances.

The Brute forces, meanwhile, had spread across the base, and even outside of it. They knew much more about the Flood than the TGDA, and had spread into large Packs, eliminating small pockets of Flood resistance, but also battling the droids and Trandoshans.

the Vardian mechanised units marched behind the shuttle, swiftly closing in on the base. Serephir watched the base intently, his enhanced vision and multi-purpose vision enhancing eyepatch easily pinpointing various concentrations of enemy troops, which he transferred over to the mechanised forces as he drew his machinegun, hitting a button, covers around the thick body of the gun sliding aside as a long barrel extended forward, the machinegun turned into a sniper rifle, a quiet, high pitched beep indicating it was fully active and ready for use. Jarmun and Jarad had a couple of small caliber machineguns with them, and the other VAMCEB soldiers were well armed themselves, each with a standard issue machinegun as well as their alternate weapons, which were represented as a high caliber gatling gun in Alex's case, a personalised Anti-Armour-Shotgun/grenade launcher in Xander's, and a high speed, Seeker machine pistol in Blaze's, rigged with ammunition that locked onto a target and tracked it...

When the blinding light cleared, the Starlight was revealed, still functional, but severly damaged. Fires poked out of various parts of its hull where external sensors or deck guns had been destroyed. Its trippled barreled cannon was twisted, bent and blackened to no end, sparks flying off it. With a short pulse of its engines, the Starlight continued. Its cannons retracted, their cover slideing over them. A red shell slowly materialised into view as its nano bots flooded out back into place. Its rim glowed green again, two pulses running along its end before colideing near the center, glowing onimously for a moment. A sheering laser fizzled into view, attacking the Executioners engines. Each pulse of laser fire lasted about 3 seconds before retreating back into the glowing portion of the Starlights rim...

Large blue "comets" suddenly arced through the air and over the wall, coming down towards the Vardian mechs with an almost lazy slowness. There several loud thunderclaps as the orbs of energy hit the frontline of the mechs, exploding in bright blue flashes of superheated plasma. Ghosts, hovering forward about a meter off the ground, boosted out of the center gate (which had been apparently demolished somehow) in the base's wall, opening fire on any surviving mechs with their Plasma Cannons. The vulture-like aliens at the controls of the small vehicles cackled madly as they fired on the Vardian forces.

Karan replied to the request "Permission granted Elch. Be careful down there. Going after the flood. See you in another life, brother"

With that, the Cruiser fired its main cannon again, an orange shell trailing off into the blackness of space....
