The Scarab's anti-air turret swiveled, pointing towards Serephir when he got close. The blue plasma beams fired from it arced towards Serephir as he ran forward.

Arqueek dove behind a rock as a Brute threw a large Spike grenade at him. it stuck itself to the rock and began making a "whoop whoop whoop!" sound. Arqueek instinctively grabbed the explosive in both paws, ripped it free and heaved into the air with some effort just as it exploded, sending a hail of deadly spikes into the underside of a passing Banshee, apparently hitting something vital as it exploded into a ball of blue flame and rocketed towards the ground. The Brute who threw the grenade bellowed and aimed at the Skaven, but was cut down by one of Elch's Ultras. Nodding to Arqueek, the Elite dove back into the fray, sword swinging.

The Spec Ops Officer was near the Grav Lift by this point. Pressing his hand on the panel of the bomb, the hologram glowed red and began emitting a high-pitched whine. The Elite tossed it into the Grav Lift, and it bobbed once, before floating upward in the purple energy beam. It disappeared through the hangar door, and the Elite squad turned and sprinted back the way they had come...

Serephir leapt to the side, leaping into the air and slamming the blade down a short distance from the walker, a massive crack opening in the ground between Serephir and the Walker's foremost leg, leaving a hole under the leg, causing it to stumble slightly before leaping at it, slamming his blade into another leg and climbing it at high speed, deflecting shots that came at him with deadly accuracy, sending some flying right back at the shooters as he ascended for the walker's hull...

There was a massive blue-white explosion as the Tenebrous exploded, the Carrier's shields flaring as they struggled to contain the blast, but eventually it popped, releasing the inferno within, sending it outward in all directions.

The soldiers on the Scarab's deck were temporarily blinded by the explosion, Brutes and Jackals shielding there eyes from the blinding light.

Elch marched up to Nerus, who snarled angrily. "Another one of you incompetents, eh?" "Nerus," replied Elch calmly. "I thought I smelled your putrid scent earlier..."

as Serephir reached the top of the walker, he zipped from soldier to soldier, slashing them in half one by one until he was the only living thing on the surface of the machine, before slipping down into the control room to finish it...

Nerus charged forward, howling in rage, Gravity Hammer at the ready. Elch drew his sword as he did so, then suddenly rolled to the side. His roll was boosted by the swing of the hammer, the resulting shockwave pushing Elch even further.

By this point, the Brute and Jackal forces had been all but destroyed, thanks to the Elites and Vardians. In space, most of the Brute ships had scattered, fleeing from the TGDA ships and Sentinels. Nerus was one of the few combatants left, intending to take Elch with him, at the very least.

Many Flood watched the the duel between the two, unmoving and mute as statues...

a massive explosion was heard as the massive Scarab Walker fell in half, the cut so clean only a sword could've done it, as Serephir landed softly in the middle of the battlefield in the wake of the machine's destruction. Serephir looked around at the remaining enemy forces, each of them suddenly getting crushed one by one with no visible explanation...

Nerus looked around in surprise at the sudden destruction of his army and Scarab. He shot a glare at Serephir, but Elch growled, "This is my fight, Serephir! Leave this one to me..."

Serephir smirked. "He's all yours" he said simply just as the last survivors of the Brute army exploded violently...

Elch made what passed for a smirk among Sangheili and turned to face Nerus, just as the Brute slammed his armored left arm into him, sending him flying into a rock with a smack, depleting his shields. Temporarily stunned, he shook his head, standing up, only to be pinned against the rock by the head of Nerus' hammer. "It's time to die, Sangheili scum!" "I don't think so!" Elch grabbed his Needler from his leg and smashed the weapon over Nerus' head, making him stagger back and knocking his helmet off. Elch drew his Carbine to deliver a fatal headshot, but Nerus recovered too fast, swinging his hammer at the ground. The resulting shockwave sent Elch sprawling again, this time dropping his weapons. He did, however, land next to the small handle of his sword. He slowly closed his hand around it as Nerus walked up, lifting the hammer over his head. Elch swiftly activated the sword and leaped to his feet, stabbing straight into the Brute's exposed gut. Nerus grunted, as if confused, then fell backwards, blade sliding out of his body as he collapsed in a heap. Deactivating his Energy Sword, Elch looked over at Serephir, and nodded.

"I take it that was the end of the lesser matter?" said Serephir, as he kept a wary eye on the Flood, which were probably in it merely to eliminate the Brute, meaning chances were thy'd turn on Serephir and his allies at any moment...

There was a long pause, then a rumble, and dozens of massive tentacles erupted from the ground, writhing around the Elites, humans, and TGDA forces. There was a sinister laugh sounding in their heads, and a voice growled, "Foolish little things! This planet is MINE!" The tentacles retracted back into the ground, and the Flood that surrounded them charged forward en masse, Combat Forms leaping fifteen meters into the air towards them, Carriers waddled forward like old friends, and Infections Forms and Pure Forms filled the gaps. Soon, the former victors were fighting for there lives as the deadly tidal wave of rotting flesh and weaponry charged towards them. Every intact Brute, Jackal, Elite, and Trandoshan was turned into another Flood form, further swelling their ranks and they pushed inexorably from all sides. Grievous shouted over the melee, "Serephir! Elch! Come with me! We need to find that crashed cruiser!"

Serephir dashed after Grievous, his crew following closely, Serephir slashing a path through the horde of corpses as he headed towards the crashed Cruiser, making sure none of his crew fell behind...

Elch followed behind with his squad of Ultras, cutting down the Flood forms that got in the way. Grievous growled, "OOM-6 picked up high levels of some kind of energy in the center of the cruiser. It's probably the reactor. We can maybe overload it and destroy it..." "And the explosion will destroy the base and all traces of the Flood!" finished Elch. "Alright, who's willing to do it?" Arqueek and even Grievous, as well as Elch's Elites, seemed reluctant, considering how close the ship was to the Gravemind at the center of the base...

"I'll deal with it" said Serephir as he looked at the group seriously, moving his sword so that he was holding it in his left hand, so as to allow him to better deal with the undoubted barrage of attacks once he entered...

"Alright," replied Elch. "The reactor is a large, purple cylinder. On the side are a bunch of holograms. One is an orange triangle. Push it, and a rectangle will appear in its place. Slide that up until the whole things begins to glow, then get the hell out of there." He clapped Serephir on the shoulder. "Good luck... human," he said in a friendly tone.

"Thank you, Elch" he said as he turned towards the cruiser, running towards it, his speed once again increasing to superhuman, as he swiftly closed the gap between him and the Cruiser, eventually slashing one of the former entrances, and climbing into the vehicle, using his eyepatch to track the energy source to reach the Reactor. the walls were covered heavily in a slimy, fleshy substance similar to the type that made up the Flood forces themselves. where the substance didn't cover the wall, a purple metallic wall could be seen, showing part of the original inhabitor's construction, before the unfortunate beings were overrun by the flood. Serephir began to make his way for the reactor, wary of his surroundings...

A growling voice sounded in Serephir's head: "Child of my enemy, why have you come? I offer no forgiveness; a father's sins pass to his son..." As it spoke, Serephir's vision would distort and, oddly enough, gain a slight greenish tint, though this nauseous view faded away after the voice stopped.

"You know nothing of my kind or my family, abomination...but you will know my wrath on those who attack my allies" said Serephir as he continued heading for the Reactor, going down a hallway...

The voice chuckled. "Little thing, what do you plan to do? I have defeated fleets of thousands! Consumed a galaxy of flesh and mind and bone! Do not think your threats frighten me."

"They don't now...but soon...they will" said Serephir as he went down a set of steps and into the lower floor, where the Reactor's energy was coming from...
