Carter sat next to Gunther as the Demon smoked, taking long puffs of the cigarette. The werewolf sighed, looking up at the sky. He had been abandoned before, but not like this. The two had been fighting, and they had no idea where anyone was. They pretty much just looked up and they were gone. The vampire murderer was finally beginning to think that he had met a vampire he could trust. Well he had now thrown that memory out of his mind. He had helped them for a while, and now they were all gone. They may have even called his name, he did not know. He only knew that they had not waited for him.
Gunther took a puff, breathing deeply. He sighed. "Should we look for them?"
Carter shrugged, a bit sadly. "Does it matter? They obviously don't really need us. They just left us."
The goat leaned back. "So what? We couldn't keep up. They chased after someone and we were left behind. Did you expect them to wait for us?"
Carter shook his head again. "I dunno... What do you think we should do?"
Gunther dropped his cigarette, lighting another one. "What can we do? I mean, you can do whatever you'd like. But I'm going to be going home soon anywhey."
Carter suddenly looked up, glancing at him. "What do you mean?"
The goat nodded. "Yes. I'm to far away from Wisp. The Lotus won't like this. They'll see this as a fail. I'm a dead demon."
The werewolf laughed a little "... Oh. Well... Maybe we should go find them then..."
Gunther shook his head. "Nah... Too far."
The werewolf sighed again. He had been filled with dramatic sighs in recent times. "Well then maybe we shoul-"
Gunther.
The Goat glanced up, still smoking. The werewolf's head shot up, the dark, deep, gristly tone echoing in his ears.
Gunther. You didn't do what we told you to.
The Goat took the cigarette out of his mouth. speaking to nobody. "It's not my fault Master. She got away from me."
It doesn't matter. You failed us. You were told to keep tabs on the girl. To follow her around, so we could observe what everyone else was doing. You failed us miserably.
The Goat's voice was a little nervous now. "Bu... But... What happens now? I go home?"
Normally, we would kill you for such failure. But... In lite of recent events, we need you around the group still. It would be more... Convenient, then if we sent a completely new Demon to them. They trust you. At least more than they would another.[/i]
Gunther looked confused. "You mean... I'm getting a new Boss?
Precisely.
At these last words, a black puff of smoke appeared in front of Gunther. A tall, skinny, figure, cloaked in long, dark flowing robes walked out. The figures face was covered with a hood that was shrouded in darkness. The figure's hands were bones. It had some sort of rolled up piece of tattered parchment in one hand, which it tossed to Gunther, who caught it.
That is your new Master. Read it, and we will teleport you to him. We will also bring your wolf friend, who may also bare use to you.
Carter glanced at the figure but said nothing. Gunther unraveled the parchment, looking at it. "Who'd I get... Anything else you want to tell me?"
Yes. We have been monitoring another Demon, one who calls himself 'Scarecrow' He is in the vicinity of the one you are now serving. If you can, seek him out. He would be a great ally.
Gunther's eyes read the scroll, scanning for the name he was given. "Allright. Anywhey, who did I get, I hope it was... Oh"
Carter glanced at him. "Oh?"
Gunther sighed, handing the parchment over to Carter. He took it, his eyes quickly scanning it. His strained face suddenly burst into shock, and then into an angry face. "Oh you've got to be ******* kidding-"
The cloaked figure raised his hand. He snapped his fingers, and before Carter could finish, the pair vanished in smoke, whizzing towards Gunther's new Master.
