"would you listen if i said no?" asked Spencer with a half smile, already knowing the answer...

"Not sure....but i intend to find out" said Drake...

Diana smirked. "Not a chance," she said and planted herself more firmly on the bed.

Nyx narrowed her eyes at the figure and nodded at Drake's suggestion.

Drake headed downstairs, reaching the doorway as the man neared, now having reached the driveway. That was quick thought Drake as he opened the door, freezing in place at the sight of the man, his unmistakable light brown hair and beard the first thing that caught his eye, the lab coat under the brown overcoat he now war the only thing to have survived the massacre with him. "....Mike?! you're alive?!" said Drake as he rushed over, helping Mike to the house. "Seems it's your turn to help me, Drake....Brimstone's New York HQ....was burned to the ground" said Mike. "I know, Mike. i know. Spencer got the information late yesterday. How'd you manage to escape?" asked Drake, genuinely surprised and relieved, helping the man into the house. "I'll tell you in a bit....first....i need somewhere to sit...my legs are killin' me" said Mike. Drake nodded, helping him into the living room...

"Whoa, you do look like you've just escaped from a burning building," Nyx said. "Can I get you anything?"

The party raged on. The people inside not caring as they danced. However it wasnt as it seemed. The club here was known for its mysterious disappearances to the people who went to the club. But that would change...it was time to end that. As the music boomed even louder...a cloaked figure found its way to the center. His crimson eyes glaring at one particular figure.
"Hey...you" The cloaked man simply said. The young man turned to look, only to drop dead...a single shot straight to the head finishing off the creature which turned out to be...a vampire. Suddenly everybody began to panic after the magnum went off. People began to scream, struggling to get out of the club. Several others attempted to ambush the cloaked man but their efforts ending with one swing of a mighty sliver long sword. Blood gushed from the wounds.
This would end the the mysterious disappearances of the innocent humans here for a while. With the vampires here dead...it was time to move on. The Assassin proceeded to leave, police were bound to arrive. The police most likely wouldnt be that surprised. They had worked with the assassins on some occasions.
The assassin then entered a black sports car, unlike any other in the streets. Activating the machine took few seconds as the engine was ready to move the car along.
"You take care of the club problem?" A voice suddenly asked, coming from the car's inside radio.
"Yea" The reply was quick. The car then raced on...accelerating through the dark streets of New York towards its next destination.

"Nah...i just need a rest" said Mike. "How'd you escape?" asked Drake. "Dumb luck, believe it or not. i happened to be across the street buyin' some KFC when i started hearing gunshots. all hell broke loose afterwards. cars skidding to a hault in front of Brimstone's bunker entrance, the gatling guns going off. then silence. i had about a split second to see your father going in there before the screaming began. i swear he moved like a ******* ghost. i've never SEEN anyone move so fast. as soon as i saw people flying out of 4th floor windows, cleaved in half, only seconds after he entered, i decided it'd be a good idea to get the hell outta there. several days of non-stop walking and various hitched rides, and i find myself on the main road here" explained Mike with a sigh. "did you see anyone tailing you?" asked Drake. "The only ones that were are dead. didn't find any electronics on them, so i assume they weren't in regular contact with their bosses. they WERE after me though. found a load of silver daggers with them. one had a revolver. made sure it's barrel was the last thing he saw" said Mike with a look of satisfaction. "What happened to the whole 'i can't fight anymore, i have a chunk of silver jammed in my spine' story?" asked Drake. "Dunno, really...i can't feel it anymore...at least, not near my spine...it's further along the back of one of my ribs though....close to the surface, to my best guess" said Mike with a shrug. "So, you manage to take out Zerenski?" he asked. "Unfortunately, no....he discovered us before i managed to get to him, thanks to some.....complications. he got away, and made a mess of us while he was at it" explained Drake, Mike cursing. "This may sound crazy, but we need to get to Chicago" he said after several moments of silence. "you mean Brimstone's Chicago branch?" asked Drake. Mike nodded. "they're the last safe haven we have in North Ameria. apart from that, Brimstone has bases in Canada, Brazil, Paris, London, Berlin, Rome, Moscow, Cairo, Turkey and Japan. and that's IF Kagan hasn't taken them out already, which i honestly doubt"...

Nyx bit her lip and started to bite one of her nails a habit that she only did when she was absolutely uncertain or worried about something. "Are you really sure that we aren't in over our heads?!" Thanatos said suddenly appearing at the kitchen entrance, he had heard the whole thing.

"What if we are, Thanatos?" said Drake as he glanced at Thantos, his ice blue eyes giving the young Vampire an icy stare...

Thanatos growled and gave Drake a just as icy stare with his black eyes. "Then we'll die for revenge, not to be rude, but that's not something I plan on dying for," he said.

"So you're afraid? not to be rude, but if this is enough to scare you, i'd hate to think how you'll react to how your life plays out in a few hundred years' time....THAT will give you something to fear....this is child's play. if you're worried about being in over your head, you should consider your situation from the moment you were born. you've ALWAYS been in over your head. we all have. it's the price of our existence. the price of the existence of Supernaturals. if you want to escape it, there are 2 options. one, nobody can hope to accomplish in this lifetime, and the other, a quick, simple alternative but one that will lead you to your end. personally, i'd take being in over my head, to that, any day" said Drake...

Suddenly Thanatos leapt up grabbed Drake by the throat and slammed him against. "Thanatos what THE H***!!!" Nyx cried. Thanatos' eyes flashed red and his fangs grew longer. "I've been wishing I was dead for a long, long, long time," Thanatos said his voice husky. "Thanatos get off him!!" Nyx shouted and leapt on Thanatos throwing him back.

Drake straightened his clothes and glanced at Thanatos, completely indifferent to the young Vampire's anger. "So why didn't you kill yourself and be done with it?" he asked. "You're weak, Thanatos" said Drake as he took a step forward, a chilling calmness in his tone and stare...

Nyx stepped between them. "No, no more," she said her eyes flashing red a dangerous edge in her tone. Thanatos growled and stood strong behind Nyx. "Because I don't plan to die a miserable, petty suicide," he said.

"You should consider yourself lucky, Thanatos....if you were anyone else, you'd be dead the moment you laid a finger on me..." said Drake calmly, sitting down, his eyes flaring red for a moment, a strange black pattern swirling within his iris' for a split second before fading, returning to their ice blue colour, Drake sitting down and relaxing, closing his eyes, a sharp pain tearing through Thanatos' right arm, the arm feeling as if it had been completely shattered, despite it being in perfect condition, the feeling only lasting a moment before fading, acting as a warning. "Regardless. it's not something to bother over. if you think the stress is too much, i won't hold you here. but let me warn you that at the moment, the world's such a mess you're probably safer here than anywhere else" said Drake, having decided not to bother himself over Thanatos' pathetic complaints. he'd learn soon enough...he was still young, afterall...

"Yeah," hissed Velkor as he walked in on the conversation, smirking. "Just act like me. It's called not giving a d*mn."

Thanatos gritted his teeth and only rubbed his arm absent-mindedly. He scowled at Drake then turned, strode out the door, and slammed it behind him. Nyx bit her lip then looked at Drake, a sudden flare of anger rushing through her, at that moment she didn't want to be anywhere near him either. I guess it's true, she thought. Blood is thicker than water. Nyx sat herself at the far end of the couch and glared at the wall.

Diana heard the slam and looked out the window to find Thanatos walking along the beach. She bit her lip, she could only imagine how much she messed up with him. I got to make things right, she thought.

Drake sighed. "I'll give him time to think over his situation...with a bit of luck, he'll see my point eventually" he said. "Was it a mistake coming here?" asked Mike. Drake shook his head. "Don't mind Thanatos. he's still young....he hasn't lived long enough to see the kind of horrors this world has to offer...he hasn't seen what we've seen yet. In time, he'll understand" responded Drake. he glanced at Nyx, conscern taking the place of his indifferent expression. he understood why she was upset. the problem was he wasn't given much choice. the way a Vampire's mind worked, especially the young ones who were still victims to their instincts, was that a sign of weakness was a sign to keep going. he had to do something to make sure Thanatos didn't forget who he was dealing with....otherwise, things would deteriorate with time. in recent times, that kind of risk was potentially fatal....and Drake didn't intend to let himself, or anyone else, die because of Thanatos' frustration and anger...

Wisp, who was floating next to Velkor cocked her head, obviously curious. "What kind of things have you guys seen?" she asked curiously. Velkor didn't want to admit it, but he happened to be curious too. He was older than Thanatos, but not by much...

"Believe me when I say she's not going to fall for that," replied Velkor. Wisp nodded in agreement. "Yeah," she said,. "How bad could it be?"
