"Nah...i just need a rest" said Mike. "How'd you escape?" asked Drake. "Dumb luck, believe it or not. i happened to be across the street buyin' some KFC when i started hearing gunshots. all hell broke loose afterwards. cars skidding to a hault in front of Brimstone's bunker entrance, the gatling guns going off. then silence. i had about a split second to see your father going in there before the screaming began. i swear he moved like a ******* ghost. i've never SEEN anyone move so fast. as soon as i saw people flying out of 4th floor windows, cleaved in half, only seconds after he entered, i decided it'd be a good idea to get the hell outta there. several days of non-stop walking and various hitched rides, and i find myself on the main road here" explained Mike with a sigh. "did you see anyone tailing you?" asked Drake. "The only ones that were are dead. didn't find any electronics on them, so i assume they weren't in regular contact with their bosses. they WERE after me though. found a load of silver daggers with them. one had a revolver. made sure it's barrel was the last thing he saw" said Mike with a look of satisfaction. "What happened to the whole 'i can't fight anymore, i have a chunk of silver jammed in my spine' story?" asked Drake. "Dunno, really...i can't feel it anymore...at least, not near my spine...it's further along the back of one of my ribs though....close to the surface, to my best guess" said Mike with a shrug. "So, you manage to take out Zerenski?" he asked. "Unfortunately, no....he discovered us before i managed to get to him, thanks to some.....complications. he got away, and made a mess of us while he was at it" explained Drake, Mike cursing. "This may sound crazy, but we need to get to Chicago" he said after several moments of silence. "you mean Brimstone's Chicago branch?" asked Drake. Mike nodded. "they're the last safe haven we have in North Ameria. apart from that, Brimstone has bases in Canada, Brazil, Paris, London, Berlin, Rome, Moscow, Cairo, Turkey and Japan. and that's IF Kagan hasn't taken them out already, which i honestly doubt"...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
