The room was suddenly pumped with smoke-like gas, which had little effect on the Sith even if the mask was absent, instead blocking its view within a few seconds, only allowing a few inches of clear view. Through the thick smog, only a few seconds later, the Komodo, "head" down, crashed into the Sith, smashing him against the back wall with immense force, all the while making a low mooing sound. The machine lashed out with its taser, attempting to force the Sith into submission...

Serephir leapt forward cleaving a serpentine creature's head off in the process before hitting a tree in a sideways crouch against the trunk, kicking off as one airborn beast dove at him, a plasma bullet from one of the guards' rifles ripping through it's skull the second it hit the tree, causing it to fall into the chaos below for the many smaller creatures to mangle, Serephir bounding back and forth from tree to tree, before leaping onto a somewhat rotton one, landing on top and backflipping towards Grievous and Lissarkh, landing between them, the Guardians following in hot pursuit, moving in an aeriel slalom, crossing eachother's paths with such precise movements they were almost mechanical. one of the cuttlefish-like creatures lunged at the Guardian Squad Leader, strangely being cleaved in half on impact and falling back at either side of the Leader, the Guardians' gauntlets having started glowing a dull orange along the outer edge as a super heated plasma blade was extended to help them hack through what came in their path. with a final rebound kick off the trees surrounding Grievous, Serephir and Lissarkh, the flipped down, landing around them, weapons taking out anything that so much as looked at them, providing a firm front of covering fire to help them proceed easily...

"Excellent work," Grievous said, obviously impressed. "Let's keep moving, before we get too much attention." He walked down the path, which was a dull blue color from the sheer amount of dried blood staining the ground. A few corpses were littered here and there, but for the most part it was an uneventful trek. A little farther down the path, however, something else hopped onto the path. The creature was only the size of a rabbit, covered with red, silky-looking fur. It had six limbs, four of which ended in large hopping feet, while the other two were scythe-arms, similar to a Tyranid. Its large head was dominated by its massive, fang-filled, grinning mouth, with a pair of eye stalks extending from the top of its head, both of which swiveled independently. The fur on its head shimmered almost hypnotically, and the thing's eyes both focused on Grievous. Its tail was curled under its body, the flattened top of the tail, which was ridged and scaly, digging into the ground underneath it. Suddenly, the beast launched itself through the air with a hideous screech, covering the 10-meter distance in milliseconds. However, Grievous was ready, bisecting the creature with a Lightsaber as it sailed through the air at his head, the two halves of the alien hitting the ground at Serephir's feet. "Florn rat," Grievous said. "Nasty creatures. The babies are strong enough to break a human finger with a single leap. There are worse things, though..."

"Pleasant" said Serephir simply, earning a chuckle from a couple of the Guardians. "Can you name anything that WON'T try to kill me here?" he asked...

"Hopefully the Lamproids," replied Grievous matter-of-factly. "How they managed to evolve sentience on this planet is beyond me." In the distance, poking over the treeline, were a few spires, obviously artificial...

"Hopefully?" asked Serephir inquiringly, not exactly overjoyed with the uncertainly of the word...

"They could attack you out of hunger before I can stop them," Grievous said. "And I'd rather not see you killed by them, or the other way around."

a couple of the Guardians looked at eachother at the comment, somewhat surprised at the prospect of being on a totally hostile planet. they were reassured by Serephir as he said "Well that's a pleasant thought to have running through my mind while we're here. i may be chewed up at any time by your supposed friends...very pleasant", the sarcastic tone of his words lacking any hint of fear...

"Let's get to the outpost now, then, so we won't have to worry any more," Grievous said, turning back towards the spires in the distance...

Jessica enters the sticky structure, with er sniper in hand. She looks around in the soggy hole, and spots the remains of what appears to be a person (however, the corpse was so old it was almost a pile of bones). The corpse's rib cage was split apart at the abdomen, with dried, crispy blood still stained on the building's metal floor. Jessica examines the corpse closer, and notices the corpse has a dog tag. She picks it up, and the name on the dogtag says "Jesse Robinson".

"Oh my god," jessica says, "Jesse's been missing for over 4 weeks. He must have crashed here and got killed by whatever lives here. I'll have to keep my guard up."

Jessica loads her rifle, a soldiers on into the dark corridors of the building.

Elsewhere, where Krythnriin and co are:

The Saurians and Kluyr enter the hive and look around inside. They spot a bunch of corpses stuck to a wall, each with a hole where their chest cavity would be.

"Uhh...... Krythnriin?" Mhlrtr asks, "Why are there corpses with their chests torn open?"
"The creatures on this planet reproduce by having things called facehuggers grab onto a host's face, impregnating them with an egg, and then, when the egg is done developing, the baby creature violently rips the host's chest open and grows up in a matter of hours."

"How did you learn all this stuff, Krythnriin?"

"While I was visiting a planet, a wise man invited me into his home, and told me everything he knew. He then died shorlty afterwards from a disease or something.........."

The Saurians continue into the hive, when Kluyr growls when he heres something. "Krythnriin?" Mhlrtr asks, "What was that noise?"

"SHHH!!!" Krythnriin hisses, "Be quiet!!! The hive's drones are coming."

"The hive's what?"

At that very moment, a strange creature lunges at Mhlrtr and tackles him to the ground. It opens its jaws and fires a set of inner jaws towards his face. Mhlrtr dodges and kicks the beast off. Krythnriin stabs it through the head with his halberd. Acidic blood sprays everywhere, which melts his tip. "Oh, crud," Krythnriin grunts. Another drone lunges, but Kluyr impales it with his tail. However, kluyr's tail seems unaffected by the acid. 2 more drones attack. Mhlrtr strikes one with his shield and slices another's head clean off with his axe. the axe melts, as well. The last drone gets up, but runs away when he hears the noise of a massive beast.

The Exo ship left hyperspace, its engines at low power, skimming the craft through space. Around 250 kilometres behind it, the other ship's in the makeshift fleet dropped from hyper space as well, flanking the old military ship.

The ship's small crew worked furiously in the bridge, holo screen's and televisions surrounding each member, throwing out data. The captain watched the two blips marking the contact's they had picked up earlier. They had gone cold. They must have picked up the sensor rays their probe had let off and gone into passive mode to avoid being detected. Strangely, it comforted the captain some what. From what he knew, those two cruisers had them out ranged, out gunned and out manoeuvred. The drones were trying to perform a text book hyperspace fast intercept. Rather than focus on destroying the six ships, they were trying to halt their progress and pull them from Hyperspace. Obviously, it was working. They couldn't risk using hyper space while the drones were so close. The Jr-10's were simply slowing them down long enough for the heavy hitters to ensure escape was impossible. As little chance of survival there was, it was always reassuring to know just how the enemy planned to slaughter you.

It was more reassuring, however, to know that you were going to work against logic, and make it even easier for them to kill you, and to know that even though your sealing your own demise, it will disrupt the enemies plans just as much as needed, but most reassuring of all, was a glorious death. It was an ideal long forgotten by the Marican war movement. The idea of dying for one's beliefs had always been considered largely inferior to living for one's beliefs. He disagreed. Too many captains relied on their replaceable drones to make the sacrifices. Sacrifice, was for the living, and he intended to reclaim it's forgotten glory.

For the past month, since Maricas, along with its star and entire nation collapsed, he had been hiding from the machines. They all had. They sometimes fought long and hard against the drones they once considered their own, but in the end, the chance of escape was their only true motive. Many tried to remain optimistic, and many other would-be leader's tried to use their survival as undeniable proof of their spirit, their ability to defy all odds. But for Captain Pintelleton of the decommissioned Exo ship Freedom 1, it was a stark wake up call to what they had become. For the first time in his life, he was ashamed to be a Marican captain. He had seen the drones do amazing things. A Jr-10 flinging itself into the line of fire, giving a crippled harbringer the time it needed to retreat away from attack, the cruiser being ripped apart itself moments after it's ally had escaped. But these were machines, there was no passion behind it, it was simply cold logic. The Harbringer was more important than the Jr-10, so the Jr-10 sacrificed itself without a thought, for the cause. It was that incident in particular which drove him on now. He left that battle, with actual respect for the obliterated cruiser. He had replayed the ship's destruction nearly 10 times on his personal recorder, watching as shell after shell crashed into through its thin armour, blowing it apart piece by piece. It disgusted him. How had they let this happen? How had they given the responsibility of sacrifice over to the machines? Pintelleton was convinced that he was one of the few who recognised what had become of the Marican war movement, that machine's had become the true warriors of space combat, and the human's only their... weak... controllers. For this reason, he had decided he was going to rectify the mistake of so many others. He was going to win back the concept of glory from the machines. He was going to be die with honour, and he was probably going to enjoy it.

Suddenly, Grievous froze in midstep, glancing around at the surrounding trees. "All of you, quiet!" he hissed. "Something's watching us..."

Krythnriin, mhlrtr and Kluyr continue deeper into the hive when Krythnriin finds the remains of a dead Sangheili. It still has an energy sword in its hand. Krythnriin gets the blade, examines it, and says, "Now, THIS is a weapon!!!"

Mhlrtr nods, and hears a noise. He turns around, along with Kluyr, and suddenly, as if on cue, a sniper bullet narrowly misses them all.

"We're under attack!!!" Mhlrtr yells. Kluyr runs in circles to avoid being shot and Krythnriin ducks down and runs towards the source of the sound. He finds a rock, and looks behind it. Sure enough, there is a human. Krythnriin grabs the human, who happens to be a female, and hisses, "Who are you and what do you want?!"

The Human says meekly, "I am Jessica of Maricas, and I misstook your for a Xenomoprh. Please.... don't kill me. I'm lost and I can't find my way home."

Mhlrtr looks at her and says, "Don't worry. You can stick with us!!!"

Krythnriin says, "She is NOT coming with us."

"Oh, come on-"

"I said, she is not coming with us. not after what the humans did to my wife..... they are all monsters and they need to be eradicated!!!"

"Krythnriin...... why would you say that? She mistook us for something else-"

"It does not matter what she did or did not. She is a human, and humans are bad."

Mhlrtr looks down and says nothing else. Even though she is wary of them, Jessica follows the Saurians anyway, feeling they could protect her and vice versa......

Serephir had already frozen by the time Grievous spoke, having sensed the presence, the guards following the command and stopping, Serephir's hand slowly moving to his sword's grip, wrapping around it tightly, his eyes narrowing as he focused on his surroundings in an attempt to pinpoint their unwelcome watchers...

Suddenly, a massive, red blue burst from the trees, plucked one of Serephir's bodyguards from the ground and disappeared into the forest on the other side of the path, the only sounds being the rending of metal and screams of pain as whatever the creature was began tearing the soldier apart...

Serephir's face snapped towards the direction his Officer was taken, a low revving sound followed by a very quiet thumping boom sound simultaniously coming from Serephir's handgun, a white pulsing bolt tearing through the trees, the Smart-Shot following the attacker through the soldier's armour signature, hitting the attacker almost the split second it left the barrel of the silver gun, Serephir reholstering it as a faint booming sound was heard, the shell detonating immediately after impact, inside the target. "I hoped i wouldn't have to use that" he said quietly, never losing focus, attempting to find out if there were others...

A massive screech echoed from the trees after the explosion, and an 8-meter-long beast sprang from the treeline, similar in appearance to the Florn Rat, though its jaws were arranged in the opposite direction. There was a hole in its side blue blood caking the inside of the wound, but this didn't seem to slow it down. It finished swallowing the soldier it had in its jaws, before smacking two more aside with its massive scythe claws. It moved so fast even Serephir couldn't dodge it as it sprang at him. However, moments before it hit him, something else lunged from the foliage, coiling around Serephir and knocking him to the ground. The larger beast finished its jump then spun around, only to be met with the serpentine creature, which released its grip on Serephir and slammed into the larger monster. The creature looked like a six-meter segmented worm, with a ring-shaped mouth with four viciously hooked, black fangs around it. Its slammed these jaws into the large creature's furry flank, digging all four fangs into the flesh. It simultaneously grabbed the thing's fur with six pincer-tipped limbs and slammed a vicious-looking stinger on the tip of its tail into the beast's back. Howling in pain, the creature collapsed, and the worm let go, a milky white liquid dripping from its fangs and stinger as it arched the front half of its body to stare at the group with its eyestalks. The whole attack had taken less than 20 seconds. Surprisingly, a hissing, obviously female voice echoed in the whole group's heads: "General Grievoussss. Ssssso good to ssssee you again. I apologisssse for the dramatic introduction. Ssssssspigersssss can be deadly adverssssssariessssss, after all." Grievous, acting completely calm, replied, "Dice Ibegon. Good to see you as well."

Serephir was thankful for his luck in two things; one that this one turned out being a friend, and two, that he had hesitated to crush both creatures at that very second. "Thanks for the assistance" he said simply as he dusted himself off...

Both the creature's eyestalks swiveled to focus on Serephir. "But, if I may be sssssso bold assss to assssk, who is the one who'sssss life I ssssaved?" "This is General Serephir, one of my allies," replied Grievous. Turning to Serephir, the cyborg added, "This is Dice Ibegon, a Florn lamproid."

"I managed to figure that out for myself. nice to meet you, Dice Ibegon" said Serephir simply, the soldiers still standing on alert, wary after the surprise attack that had taken on of the men, Private Greer. he was the team Mechanic, and the newest man on the team. Serephir, as well as the Guardians, knew he'd be difficult to replace...

Meanwhile, on Trandosha, a brown haired man walked into one of the numerous cantinas on Trandosha, dressed in heavy travellers clothing, a long, tattered coat, a shoulder strap belt with several pouches attached, wrapping around his waist, wearing reflective glasses and thick brown leather boots, with a large cloth wrapped around his face, tanned from dust, ordering a moderate sized steak before sitting down in one of the corners, crossing his arms and waiting, leaning back...
