Indeed... I have completed every level of Halo 3 with those skulls activated... except Cortana... That one level has eluded my grasp, due to the horrid Ranged forms, the ****ing Combat forms with Rockets and Fuel rods, and the forsaken lack of decent weapons there... I have tried dozons of times, only to constantly die in the one"Purple" room, due to all my ammo runnnig out, and atleast 5 Tank forms coming at me at once, with Ranged forms preventing me from fleeing, all my grenades used up, and Shielded Elite combat forms with energy swords slicing me in half!

Atleast on Halo, I can just sit back and have Sergeant Johnson and the Arbiter take care of all of them...

Cortana can be used to farm points for the achievement, since you can use the catch and toughluck skulls without worrying for grenades.

Not in co-op you don't get that easyness. It's quite difficult.

If I don't have an energy sword or gravity hammer, the only weapons you can trust me with are plasma rifles, covenant carbines, needlers, and assault rifles.

When I do Cortana, I always keep a Brute Shot handy for meleeing Tank forms. For dealing with Combat and Ranged forms, I prefer to use a Carbone.

change the needlers, and assault rifles for battle rifles, shotguns, Brute Shots and Magnums. The Battle rifles and magnums are specially useful when paired with a carbine. What I do is combine the Plasma rifle with battle rifles. It's a good combo since the plasma weapons take out the brute armor fairly easier than a bullet weapon, so after taking out their armor I use the BR for a final blow to the head

Energy Swords slaughter Tank Forms with one blow, but it's a problem getting them if the only ones around are in the hands of Elite combat forms...

By far the WORST fight in the entire Halo franchise is the one on The Covenant, where you have to fight a swarm of Drones and 2 Hunters. Oh, and if you decide to try and bypass them, then you have to deal with numerous brutes, drones, and a pair of Hunters. Even with the Arbiter and a few Elites with you, it's a hellish fight with all the skulls I mentioned on...

I have HORRIBLE acurracy. I can't hit a tank with a battle rifle. That's how bad it is.

I like to use Brute spikers, brute shots and fuel rod guns too.

I always kill the Brute Chieftain in the first tower with a beam rifle on legendary, that way I can use his invincibility when I have to deal with the Drones in the 3rd tower.

My favorite level is the last one. I LOVE mowing down the flood for some reason.

And shoot, IK. A beam rifle? I'm lucky I hit anything with a battle rifle or carbine, let alone a sniper...... I leave the sniping chris. I'm all about pummeling my foes into submission up close and personnal!!! That's why I do good with energy swords/ gravity hammers.

G4E:On legendary, I almost always prefer to use Sniper weapons or ones capable of headshots against all of my enemies, with the few exceptions being Tank forms, Stalker forms and Hunters, those I usually melee to death, often with a Brute shot, although I prefer to take out the hunters in "The Storm" with a rocket launcher or missle pod.

Best weapon that I'm good wit up close is the Mauler. That thing when dual wielded does more damage than the shotgun, and one melee attack to a Combat Form kills it. Medium range, it has to be the Fuel Rod. Seriously, it's More Dakka combined with BFG to make the best weapon in the game. And at long range, it must be the Beam Rifle. I seem to get plenty of no-scopes with it...

Invisible Honor Guards? I don't remember that. But anyway, that's why I like Elites. They're technologically, physically, and mentally superior to humans.

@IK: Brute weapons all are good up close. They can kill almost anything in 1 hit.

@Gira: I personally think the maulers suck. I'd rather go with dual brute spikers than dual brute maulers. But, I agree with medium range: Fuel Rod FTW!!! It's a rocket launcher on steroids.

When at the 3rd tower of "The Covenant" on Legendary, I usually give the Elites any Fuel rod guns, Beam Rifles or Brute shots that I'm carrying, so they can kill or at least soften up the hunters while I kill the Drones.

I thonk TT means the invisible Elites in Halo: Combat Evolved that appear on the Truth and Reconcilliation on Legendary. Your Merine allies can't see them, and they're hard to notice via sound, so they can litteraly slaughter your allies in one hit and can kill you also with ease...

Gira: He specifically mentioned Halo 2 and Honor Guards (who only appear in Halo 2), but regardless, the allied A.I. in the first Halo (and all the others, actually), is REALLY bad already, and it's not too hard to kill the Stealth Elites, since A: They lack shields, and B: If they have an Energy Sword, it shows up despite the Active Camouflage, making it easy to track them.

I distinctly remember, before you fight the Prophet (Truth IIRC), there are stealth Honor Guards around the area. By that, I mean elites wielding swords while invisible. Maybe they weren't Honor Guards specifically, can't remember.

Either way, they were annoying as hell. Not fun just walking along, when something lunges from behind out of f*cking no where and shoves a plasma sword into your back T_T

oh... I just don't get how the Marines aren't able to see a perfectly visible Energy Sword floating toward them...

Is it me, or does the Kraken for the upcoming film Clash of the Titans remind me of Orga and the Ranchor from Star Wars?

Actually, Your fighting the Prophet of Regret, since Mercy dies via Flood infection Form, and Truth is slain by the Arbiter...

I honestly don't remember their being invisible Elite Honor Guards on that level.. I guess I have to play Halo again to make sure... Wait a minute.. I remember now... In the underwater area, before the second Gandula, theirs an area with invivible grunts in it... and as you near the eit, an invisible Elite with an energy Sword charges at yuo...

Sometimes when I play "The Covenant", I occasionally leave some infection forms alive, then kill my allies and let them get transformed into Flood combat forms.

Best thing to do with the Flood is to shoot off their arms... then they become "Flood Bodies", which can be useful, especially in the orgional Halo. The only ingame one you see is durng the second level onboard the Truth and Reconcilliation, where one is chasing down a Grunt...
