The messenger cut communications with the group, just as a new message was broadcast from the beacon. "Those are the ones who enslaved us! Why are you leaving?!" the message read, voiced by a new person this time, a human male, some of the words changing pitch suddenly...

Sassk growled angrily, then turned back to the console. "I would really like a straight answer and an explanation, please," he hissed through gritted teeth.

"Have you heard the message?! That was a few days ago. Those are the ones who enslaved us! We were unable to keep them away. Please, we need urgent help!" another message was sent to the TGDA ships from the distress beacon, each sentence being said by different voices...

Sassk rubbed his temple for a moment to regain his composure. "Alright, hold on a second. Who enslaved and why? I want to know the specifics before I risk sending troops down into a possible combat zone with no intel whatsoever."

"I don't know who they are. Only what they look like. They patrol the space outside. We have no way to return to our people!" another message was sent to the TGDA ships, once again being voiced by a variety of people.

"Okay, okay, I'll send down a landing craft to investigate, and if possible, pick you up. Give me the coordinates of where you're located if you can, and we'll try to get you out of there. Are these... people heavily armed?" Sassk asked, wanting to know everything he could find out.

"They remain in space above. The ground is unoccupied. You must send help! BEWARE!" another message warned, just as the previous entity opened communications with the TGDA ships once more. "You have not left. Do so now, or we will be forced to use deadly force."

Sassk sent another message to the apparent slavers: "I'd like to see just what kind of deadly force you'll use, pal. Free those slaves, or we'll show you how dangerous the TGDA really is." While he was speaking, TV-97 secretly loaded up a landing craft and prepared to launch it towards the planet. It would probably be mistaken for an asteroid on the way down, and if a ship-to-ship battle started, they could probably fly back to the ship without being noticed...

"There are no slaves. This planet has been designated uninhabitable, going to its surface means certain death. We will not allow this." the messenger responded, before cutting communications completely. The space above the planet seemed to shimmer for a moment, before a number of objects seemed to appear out of no where. At the center of them floated an almost sphere-like craft, two sections of what would make up the sphere being used as tread-like legs, while another part of sphere made up its domed head. As they were exposed, it shifted back into its sphere form, rocketing away from the two forces...

The largest of the three vessels guarding the planet was a colossal arrow-shaped craft, relatively thin in width, but towered over most in sheer height. The two others that flanked it were relatively rectangular in shape, the face and back end of the crafts ending in jagged spires of metal, a very significant different to their smooth sides. On all four "faces" of the rectangular vessels, panels of their armor seemed to extend outward, revealing multiple rows of weapon barrels, all pointed toward the TGDA ships.

"This is your final warning. Leave now, or die."

Sassk, unfazed by the enemy ships, replied, "You're obviously lying. If it is indeed uninhabitable, why would you be guarding it? I'm sure you could let me send droid troops down to investigate?" He knew the ships wouldn't allow it, but it hardly mattered by this point. There was going to be a fight, and Sassk was going to make sure he won...

Meanwhile, having followed the TGDA ships through Hyperspace, a small, pyramidal object, smaller than even a droid starfighter, hovered behind the task force, ejecting a tiny memory crystal which entered its own personal Slipspace rupture, too small to be detected by the larger ships nearby...

"Negative. No one must reach the planet's surface. You have rejected our attempt at mercy. Prepare to die." the lead ship messaged, just as panels on the two flanking ships parted once more, revealing openings into the vessels themselves. Small, squarish crafts began to pour out in large quantities, smaller then most fighter-class vessels, as they began to streak toward the TGDA ships, the arrow-shaped craft's face beginning to glow brightly, preparing to attack, as the craft on either side of it began to fire their own weapons, constant beams of hot energy now pounding the lead TGDA ship's shield, fired from all four rows extending from the vessels themselves...

The lead ship, a Providence-class carrier/destroyer piloted by Sassk and TV-97, released dozens, possibly hundreds, of Tri-fighters and Droid Starfighters, which streaked towards the smaller craft. The flagship, along with a pair of Recusant-class Light Destroyers, moved forward, taking evasive maneuvers to dodge the energy beams, firing back with their turbolasers and proton torpedo launchers, concentrating their fire on one of the smaller ships. The four other members of the task force, which were Munificent-class Frigates, stayed back for now, using their radar jammers to disrupt the enemy ships' targeting capabilities and make evading attack that much easier for the fighting ships...

Sassk's ship covertly released a single landing craft, which streaked below the battle, using the chaos of innumerable starfighters streaming above it to head towards the surface of the planet unnoticed...

The fighters readily engaged the enemy, but moved in a unique way. Instead of chasing after one another like traditional land battles, the strange fighters were able to change direction at a moment's notice, and were able to turn mid-movement to face any direction. Utilizing this, the fighters began dispatching multitudes of the TGDA fighters, able to turn around while being pursued by their attackers and fire back, or change direction sharply without losing speed...

The Barges on either side of the arrow-shaped ship continued to bombard the enemy with the beams, readily correcting their aim as the ships began to take slow evasive action, their shields holding back much of the fire, but couldn't do so for long. The middle ship continued to charge its main weapon, while small point defenses along its frame began to fire out toward the TGDA ships to add to the firepower...

The four Frigates turned as one and fired their oversized, single turbolaser cannons under their chassis at the Barge the rest of the fleet was aiming at. The concentrated firepower would eventually penetrate the ship's shields, hopefully faster than the enemy ships could drain their TGDA counterparts...

Sassk turned his ship to face the Barge, the modified superlaser on the ship's nose now full charged having been charged while the flagship was busy evading enemy fire. The superlaser fired and hit the Barge at the same time as the Frigates' turbolaser blasts.

The Tri-fighters, which were able to keep up with the agile enemy fighters, kept tailing them, while the Droid Starfighters simply swarmed them from every other direction. The smaller fighters, vastly outnumbered by their TGDA counterparts, could only aim at one fighter and in one direction at a time, making the swarm attack extremely effective at evening the odds...

The landing craft soon hit atmosphere and began scanning for life, or at least signs of civilization...

The landing craft would find a wasteland of a surface, even the ground blackened by an unknown cause, almost completely devoid of any landmarks such as mountains or valleys. There were ruins of only three cities on the planet, each very large, while one, at the "center" of the planet, was much larger then the rest, various metallic buildings, half-destroyed, rising up into the sky...

As the barge's shield began to falter and fall, the arrow-shaped craft fired its weapon, three oddly colored flashes emitting down the face of the vessel, as three equally colossal waves of energy were sent rocketing toward the TGDA vessels, moving much faster then the bulky ships could maneuver. The first wave overwhelmed all in its path, fighters, friend and foe alike, being sent soaring away by the energy, disabled, though since the TGDA fighters were in greater numbers, their losses were heightened. The wave of EMP energy hit the flagship of the task force, the energy seemingly to mold itself around the frame of the hull before completely dispersing, almost completely draining the craft's already damaged shield. The second wave arrived a second later, the orange energy smashing into the shield, explosions appearing up and down the flagship as the wave dispersed, completely breaking down the shield of the craft.

Finally, the last, reddish wave arrived, but instead of dispersing like the others, it cut through the armored hull of the TGDA craft like a knife through butter, dispersing after digging deep into the nose of the vessel, leaving a gaping wound, while the tail end of the wave having pierced the super laser...

Several sonic booms sounded in the turmoltuous skies of the desert. A small craft, vaguely V shaped soared through the atmosphere, its bottom hull faced the surface. It glowed bright as heat built up around it. Its double cylindrical engines had deactivated long before entering the atmosphere. Its recurved wings were folded in on themselves, locked against the side of the mauve ship. Its windshield was blue tinted and slanted, giving the ship a sleek and fast impression. The pressure wave that surrounded the ship dessipated. It reached the lower atmosphere, strong winds slamming into each other from different directions, kicking up tall spiralling towers of sand, which spun about the barren surface. The ship's nose pointed down to the surface, and with a flapping motion, the wings outstretched, the segmented wing locking in place. Its engines gave off a mechanical whirring noise as rings inside the silver plated propulsion began to spin, glowing bright white as they did, a small stream of whie flames trailing the craft. It began to level out at 2,000 feet, its descent turning into a gentle glide as it neared the surface. At 1,500 feet, it was completely level, soaring across the sand duned surface towards a settlement appearing on its scanners...

The bridge of Sassk's ship trembled and nearly threw the Trandoshan off his feet. "What in the name of the Scorekeeper was that?!" he shouted angrily. TV-97 calmly replied, "It seemed to be a special energy weapon of unknown origin. We have lost our superlaser and have critical damage in several decks at the nose of our craft." "Pull back," Sassk ordered. "Let our shields recharge and we'll attack again. All Destroyers, concentrate fire on the unshielded ship." The two Recusant-class Destroyers, who had barely managed to dodge the wave of energy, though with some damage to their undersides, focused their fire on the injured Barge, now penetrating the ship's hull. The four Frigates turned and fired on the second Barge from a safe distance with their turbolasers. Meanwhile, Sassk sent a message back to Florn, requesting the assistance of their most powerful ship...

The landing craft sent a message to all three abandoned cities, all saying the same thing: "Is anyone alive down there?"

The unshielded barge didn't last much longer, being dismantled by the storm of attacks coming from the TGDA task force. The other barge focused its fire on one of the frigates, while the arrow-shaped craft waited for its main weapon to recharge...

The beacon itself was located in one of the lesser ruined cities, specifically near one of the battered landing pads on the outskirts, awaiting the arrival of the landing craft.

The landing craft turned towards the battered city, heading for the designated landing pad. Nevertheless, the craft's wing-mounted turrets swiveled constantly to check all possible routes of attack as it began its descent, not wanting to fall into an elaborate trap...

The Frigate's shields held up and allowed it to move away from the energy beam, the quartet of ships firing more shots on the Barge. The two destroyers moved towards the larger ship, trying to distract it by bombarding it with turbolaser and proton torpedo fire...

A lone figure stood near the landing pad, looking to be simply a human dressed in somewhat casual clothing, though, strangely, had no tears on its clothes, nor did it have any visible injuries.

The Barge did its best to hold against the barrage of attacks, the arrow ship's point defenses aiding in attacking its enemies, bombarding one particular frigate...
