Yoruichi blinked once, slowly. Then she gave a tiny, faint nod. "Dead," she said, her voice quiet.

"I'm unfortunate enough to not have anything left to protect....the only ones i could consider actual friends are Yoru, her friend Ira, and JoJo by extension...everyone else is a potential enemy" said Gaara simply...

"There, all done." Tiffany remarked as she backed up, Meta-Ridley's eyes opened up and shine red as the cyborgrolled off the table and onto the ground, landing on all fours, the dragon looked down at his master, happy to have been repaired by her. "Thank you, milady. What is it that you command me to do?" The dragon hissed, bowin gdown before the girl. Tiffany leaned back into her chair, thinking hard. She had just repaired the dragon from his last "battle", and she had seen the footage of whom had done it. That person... he would PAY for what he had done...

The boy was quiet, unable to find any words of sympathy. "Not that it would help" He thought. "Whats 'Im sorry' going to do?" He wasnt equipted to deal with issues like that. When Jake's mother died and his dad disappeared, Kevin simply avoided the matter. Now he was wondering how things would be if he hadnt.

"Strange." Galaak finally said, after listening to the conversation. "Sad how those we care for are taken. More over, sad how those affected are left to their own devices. You have my condolances. Thats just about all I can offer"

The teen nodded again, falling silent with a distant expression. Some days it felt like it had happened only yesterday. Some days she thought she could still feel the ghost of the knife carving up her back. Even though the horror of her past had unfolded years before, the pain was still fresh. Almost without her noticing, her hand moved to her shoulder and her thumb stroked the thick scar there.

"I appreciate it" responded Gaara. "But...what's past is past. what will looking back to it achieve? what's lost is lost. all that's left is gain" he added mildly optimistically. a lump of sand formed on top of the gourd, taking up a shape, revealing itself to be a hawk, the sand-made bird of prey taking to the air....

JoJo brushed his head against Yoruichi's side, trying his best to comfort her. He looked up, green eyes conveying his concern. With a sigh, the hero forced himself off the gear, saying "Sorry...for bringing it up"
"I really should get back to business" Galaak said, moving back into the light. He rose up into the craft soon after, though the entrance remained open. "Its not the first sad story you've heard, Taalrik" He thought as he walked back over to the table, the nano-tech suit peeling away as he went. "Far from it. Dont let it get to you too much"

"Don't worry about it....I've already made sure the cause of that incident has suffered for it" answered Gaara, his emphasis on the word 'suffered' merely underlining his habit of paying back enemies with interest...

An edge of one of the mask's eyes lifted as the boy raised an eyebrow. "That....must've felt nice..." The hero said slowly. "Just to be clear on the matter, you dont kill innocents, right?"

Yoruichi rested her hand briefly on Jojo's head, wordlessly telling him that she was alright. "No worries," she said to Speedfreak's apology as she stretched her wings out as far as they would go before folding them again, working out the kinks in the muscles.

"No innocents. No children...no women or elderly unless they're the threat" answered Gaara simply as the hawk circled above...

"...K then" SpeedFreak replied. He looked from the ink dog, to the demon-girl, to the sandman, and couldn't help asking "...How'd you guys meet anyway..."

Yoruichi half-smiled. "In a dark alley," she replied, not exactly lying. She had met both Jojo and Gaara in an alley.

"The alley ways... always something going on in them" SpeedFreak replied. "I meet most of my 'friends' friends in them" He smirked. JoJo eyed the hawk above, a swift tendril shot out from his mouth wrapped about the sand bird, the ink hound trying to yank it down, body in a combat stance, with his head low to the ground and forepaws planted firm on the ground. He growled with each tug. "Dog's...energetic?"

"To say the least," Yoruichi said with a short laugh, watching her friend.

The hawk split into two smaller birds, swirling around the tendril in the air at high speed. "indeed" said Gaara simply...

The tendril split down it's middle, peeling apart as the two limbs snaked about in the air, lashing out like whips. SpeedFreak raised another eyebrow. "....And that's normal for you guys? Dont get me wrong, I know that we're standing outside a space ship, and all of us are mutants and all...but really?"

"hm?" asked Gaara as he eyed the boy. above, the two small hawks ascended out of the tendrils' reach, before splitting up, one going North and the other South, patrolling the area, acting as Gaara's eyes, to make sure nothing snuck up on the area unannounced

"Inky trying to eat sand" SpeedFreak said simply as the tendrils slid back into the dog's mouth, who sat happily with his tongue hanging out. The corners of his maw pointed up and he panted, tail wagging. He gave the boy the familiar blank stare...

"As far as i've seen, there's nothing he WON'T eat" answered Gaara...
