As the lion ripped out his throut HookHorn let loose a bellow that was turned into a gurgle as the herbivores life slowly drained away. Just before his live left the body the rhino let loose a small sigh then remained motionless.

Whitetip started to push more urgently, trying to get her sister's attention and wake her up. "Come on, Redclaw. get up! don't do this!" she growled, broken-hearted, fearing she had lost her sister. Nightbane silently put a paw on Redclaw's shoulder, kneeding it with his paw, trying to awaken the lioness. "Redclaw, you're needed. wake up" he growled, worry evident in his tone, lowering his head to lick her cheek in an attempt to wake her, grooming the lioness, hoping that the ministrations would wake her...

As the horrific images in her head suddenly vanished, Red Claw slowly started to wake up. She could hear her sister urging her to wake up, blinked a couple of times as the rays from the sun almost blinded her at the moment, and looked at her sister as she started to gain consciousness. " White Tip, I'm okay," Red growled to her sister. "Your dead, Manderius, tommarrow, your dead. I promise you this," Red Claw thought to herself after reliving her life in her mind.

as the lioness woke, both Nightbane and Whitetip sighed in relief, both realising they had been holding their breath subconsciously, worried she wouldn't wake. "You had us worried there, Redclaw" growled Nightbane. "Worried? more like terrified!" responded Whitetip as she joined Nightbane in the grooming session...

"I'm fine guys, don't worry, I'll live, nothing much more than a head ache and a large bruise on my side, possibly a fractured bone in the rib cage, but I'll live," growled Red, glancing over to White Tip as she pulled herself up. Her whole right flank was throbbing as Red Claw got up, looking over at the now dead rhinoceros, grinning joyfully. She slowly trotted over to Redtail, who was cowarding in a bush, not caring for Red Claw when she got slammed in her flank by a rampaging rhino.

Redtail was too busy staring at the dead rhino to care much, until he saw Redclaw coming towards him. Sitting down, he did his best not to make eye contact. "So, uh... nice job and all..."

"Doesn't mean we're going to stop though" growled Nightbane with a smirk as he followed, though Whitetip found it far less amusing despite the fact her sister said she was fine...

Red Claw started to growl at Redtail as she neared the jackal, ready to rip his throat out. "You coward! I could have died out there and you wouldn't have cared! All you care about is that rotting corpse!" Red roared at the seemingly terrified jackal angerly, showing nothing but pure hatred towards him. She growled at him again, signalling the pest to leave, as the only thing the jackal cared about was scavaging for food from dead bodies that other predators had brought down.

Redtail jumped in surprise, ears flattened. "Well... what did you expect me to do?! Get squished by an angry rhino?!"

"You show no consideration for others, just like the rest of your species! now get out of here, or you can rot away next to that rhinoceros!" Red growled angerly at the jackal, starting to slowly move backwards as Red Claw neared it, claws protruding from her paws.

"Now do you see my point, Redclaw?" growled Nightbane as he stepped forward, the massive lion towering over the jackal. "Redtail. as far as i've seen, you've done nothing whatsoever to benefit us. as i said before. a parasite. you feed off what we leave behind, and follow us around without benefiting us at all. the way i see it....I have no reason to let you stick around"...

Redtail scrambled backwards, but quickly snapped back, "What's wrong with you all of the sudden? I'm so sorry I couldn't try and wake up an unconscious lioness that's five times my size!" Turning on Nightbane, he added, "Have I led you into a nest of crocodiles, or somehow put all of you in grave danger? I don't think so! I don't see the big deal in letting me stick around!"

"Your a parasite, just like Nightbane had said! You'd rather eat something we kill than try helping one of us if we were dying! You yourself are just lucky I don't slit your throat right here!" growled Red Claw with pure hatred, raising her paw up the the pest's throat. She looked at him with anger, sending her claws closer to his neck, ready to kill him if needed.

"Leave him" growled Nightbane as he eyed Redclaw, raising a paw to Redclaw's and gently lowering hers. "Redtail. The Rhino is there. eat your fill of it. Starting from now, You're as much likely to be killed and eaten as any other prey item we see. Be thankful i'm still full from the last kill and am not hungry now, otherwise i'd use your hesitation to run to kill you and get an easy meal" rumbled Nightbane as he eyed the jackal. Whitetip eyed the two, somewhat uncomfortable with their decision, but not saying anything seeing as she hadn't been around long enough to know if there was anything else driving them to force the jackal off...

Redtail glowered at the lions, then stood up and walked angrily past them, barking, "Fine, I'm out of here! You'll miss me soon enough, you'll see!" More quietly, he muttered, "See if I care what you big dumb cats think..." He walked over to the dead rhino, tearing sullenly at the carcass.

RotBeak sat in a nearby tree not caring about the lions or how the rhino died because his mind was on one thing the carcess.

He took off from his branch lightly landing on the rhinoceress's thigh squaking to warn the jackel to back off and stay where it was, still watching the fellow scavenger he lowered his head stripping a piece of flesh from the body.

Redtail ignored Rotbeak, more intent on eating and taking his mind off the lions that had drove him away.

Red Claw ignored Redtail as he headed over to the carcass, lowering her paw to the ground. She looked at Nightbane for a few seconds, then started to head back to their home by the tree. She was still angered by what Redtail had done, but started to think she made a mistake at that moment."I didn't need to be that hard on Redtail, he couldn't have helped against that beast anyways. It's not his fault he couldn't fight something that large, maybe if he's still around in this area I could apoligize to him," Red Claw thought to herself, starting to feel angry at herself, because he saved her from that pest, and she believed she needed to be more kind to him for that.

as Nightbane walked over to the tree, he considered the decision about the jackal. his ego and rather insulting outlook on everything other than himself had annoyed him considerably. the lion was pleased he was rid of the pest. it seemed every time the jackal had opened his mouth, he had done something to insult him, frequently insulting Nightbane's hospitality and patience. the fact he was gone was pleasing. with a bit of luck, it'd make the jackal think about it's behaviour more seriously. the Lion sat down at the base of the tree, glancing off into the distance towards his brother's pride...as soon as he had avenged Redclaw and her pride...he would confront his brother...

Red Claw suddenly changed her mind about Redtail, knowing he will just pester the three of them if she brought him back. Once she neared the tree, she glanced in the direction Nightbane was looking at, seeing some lions, possibly Nightbane's brothers. "We'll get to them later," Red growled silently, just enough for Nightbane to hear. As the sun continued to rise, a eagle came soaring over the river, only to get caught in the jaws of a crocodile. "Dumb birds," Red thought to herself as a frenzy of crocodiles swarmed the loner with the eagle.
