"Wow, it's that simple," Red Claw growled, partly joking with her comment on Nightbane's plan. "Me and White Tip here will take him out once he's too weak and tired to fight, then we probally could take on the rest of that clumbsy pride. I've only seen a few of them ever achieve much kills rather than Manderius," she added on. The rest of the pride was easier to trick than a rat with partial brain damage.

"Nah. Leave the pride. unless they actively try and fight, there's no need to waste our time with them. Without a leader they'll have to go off on their own. odds are if they're as useless as you say, they'll die a slow, painful death by starvation" growled Nightbane with a smirk...

"Their as good as a meerkat. give them something to eat, and they ignore EVERYTHING basically, except a fight against rivals of course," rumbled Red Claw, noting how much stupidity ran in the pride. "Only Manderius has any brains out of them all."

Whitetip arched her back and extended her claws in a long stretch. "So when do we start?" she growled, lashing her tail eagerly.

"Dawn" growled Nightbane. "Generally pride leaders go on patrols late at night to make sure no enemy tries to sneak in. they sleep immediately after they've finished marking their borders and get back to the pride, to make up for lost time. hitting them at dawn means he'll be exhausted to start with" he explained, recalling his memories under Shujaa's leadership...

"We'd better get some rest. the sun's going down. i'll wake you both when it's time to leave" growled the lion as he lay down, watching the sun disappear behind the horizon...

several hour later, the Lion rose from his slumber. glancing at the others, then at the sky, he decided it was time to head out. they were still a good hour from dawn. in the darkness they could move mostly undetected. in addition to that, Manderius would likely just be heading away from his borders towards the center, where his pride would be resting. perfect timing thought the Lion with a smirk as he put a paw on the two lionesses' flanks, nudging them gently to wake them. "Time to go" he growled lowly...

Whitetip's yellow-green eyes flickered open. She lifted her head, a shiver rippling through her pelt. "This is it," she murmured, getting slowly to her paws.

Red Claw looked up at Nightbane as he woke her and White Tip up. "Let's get moving, it usually takes about forty five minutes to get to mine and White Tips's original territory, less than that to get to the border of Manderius, so we should hurry," she growled, starting to pull her body up.

Nightbane nodded, moving swiftly in the darkness, towards the territory he had been told of...

Whitetip ran on silent paws at Nightbane's shoulder, her heart pounding against her ribs.

Red Claw slowly followed behind Nightbane and White Tip, but did a quick stop to stretch. "I know Manderius still lives in his original territory, I've been there a couple of times before, seeing one or two of his pride, but not the whole group," growled Red, knowing that Manderius was too dumb to move his pride to a safer area up north. "His only son that stayed with him, Neptune, recommended moving north, near the edge of the reserve, only to be chased away. I saw it when his daughters were helping the rest of the pride, mainly the younglings hunt," rumbled Red Claw as she continued moving along, knowing that Manderius had some smart family within his pride.

Having crossed the river several hours ago, Titanus was sound asleep beneath a bush, the thylacine having not spotted any herd at all in the area. Now, however, karma was playing against him big time. all around him, a large herd of water buffalo had moved into the area, grazing on the grass. If the herd picked up Titanus's scent, he'd get smoothered no matter what...

"Well then, with a bit of luck, Manderius' son holds a grudge against his father and will be thankful to see him killed" growled Nightbane as he walked onwards...

"Manderius has hated Neptune his whole life basically, scolding him for trying to be helpful to his weak father, so he'll most likely try and take over his father's pride once he's dead," growled Red Claw, hoping Manderius' son wants to kill him as much as she does. Red even knows that Manderius tried killing his son a few times, even attacking him, almost blinding him in his right eye.

"Let's just hope that Nightbane's right and Manderius is just settling down to sleep," Whitetip growled.

"Perfect" growled Nightbane with a smirk. "Do you know if there are any other males in the pride now?" he inquired as they neared...he wanted to know how many lives he'd have to end today...

"None. Manderius couldn't be challanged for leadership by any of the males in his pride, so he chased them from his territory while they were still young, but old enough to hunt on their own, but I'm pretty sure there is atleast one in there now," growled Red Claw, not knowing exactly how much males could be involved in his pride. She just hoped they didn't have to do much fighting against the pride, as their primary target was Manderius only.

it wasn't long before the scent of the territorial borders reached them. they were fresh. "That Manderius i smell?" growled Nightbane as he eyed the two...
