[The Kingpin]

Nguvu's massive paw curled slightly to wrap around Lusa, pulling her forward closer to his head, deeper into his mane, laying her down in the thick bed of mane fur. he glanced towards Uzuri for a moment, catching her stare and smile at the scene, smiling himself, pleased that he wasn't the only one enjoying the experience, as well as enjoying the look on the lioness' face, despite the fact it was upside down...




Meanwhile, back in Shadow's pride, things were not all well. It seemed that the sight of Nguvu and his words had sparked something, and now, the brothers were no longer acting as one. Maovu, or Shadow as he insisted he be called, was conscerned that with two Lionesses at his side, Nguvu would survive the trip through the jungle and reach the Pride's former location. this conscern grew to the point he now considered sending someone to eliminate him. he would have to contact the one who had helped him through the jungle himself....to assist Jino and Kubwa in eliminating his brother...

Jino, still fearing for his survival if he were to leave his elder brother's side, was more desperate than ever to please Shadow.

Kubwa, on the other hand, was beginning to feel dissatisfied with his elder brother's rule. the seeds of regret had been sown into his mind, and were quickly growing their roots. the fury in his brother Nguvu's eyes worried him. and he had much to fear....Afterall...Nguvu's reputation in the old pride was well earned. it as only a matter of time before they all saw just how well earned it was. Shadow's lie would not last forever. IF Nguvu survived the forest....and saw what awaited him on the other side.....there was no telling what would happen to the trio and their pride...

Amani started to smile when she saw the little pup lay in Nguvu's mane, causing her to chuckle. "She really likes you," growled Amani, still chuckling as Lusa laid in his huge mane, still sleeping. "If I can have cubs of my own one day, I'll love them no matter what happens between them," the lioness rumbled, still watching the tiny wolf start to move around in Nightbane's mane in her sleep.

Lusa gave a little sigh and seemed to relax, her amber eyes opening slowly. She blinked a couple of times, trying to figure out where she was, before remembering that she'd fallen asleep on Nightbane's chest. Her jaws parted in a massive yawn, a squeaking sound coming from her throat in the middle of it. She licked her lips, tail starting to wag sleepily as she mumbled, "Mornin'."

"Well, i hope your cubs make you proud" he growled with a smile to the lioness. glancing at Lusa, he smiled. "Evening" growled Nguvu with a chuckle as he curled his paw on Lusa and lifted her, looking up at her with a chuckle, dangling her in the air overhead...

Lusa squeaked in surprise, making Night turn with pricked ears to see what was going on. Uzuri chuckled, amused at the pup's predicament.

"What about you, Nightbane?" growled Amani, chuckling at the pup dangling from Nguvu's massive paw. "maybe little Lusa here wants down," rumbled the lioness, still smiling from seeing the tiny wolf hanging onto a enormous paw like that.

"What about me?" growled Nguvu as he opened his jaws, lowering the pup towards them in an attempt to scare Lusa...

"Don't you want any cubs of your own?" purred Amani, laughing as the helpless pup appearing to almost get eaten by Nguvu. She continued, "You, me..." trying to get him to understand what she ment and how exactly she was feeling right now, still watching Lusa hanging onto his paw.

Lusa yipped, somewhat frightened, reaching out with one paw to bat the lion's nose. "Don't eat me," she squeaked. "I'm too cute and fuzzy to be eaten!"

Nguvu was made uncomfortable by the implications, his own indecision over the issue having kept him from making the move himself. trying to lose the subject he focused on Lusa. "I'll bet cute and fuzzy didn't matter when you were chasing those mice around. they were cute and fuzzy" he growled as he lowered Lusa down just over his mouth, before giving her a long lick, rubbing all the fur on one side of her body the wrong way...

"Lusa, did you REALLY think he was going to try and eat you?" growled Amani, still laughing from the scene. "Anyways, Nightbane... answer the question," rumbled Amani, glancing over to Nguvu with a annoyed look.

Lusa let out an indignant squeak. "Lion spit again!" she yipped, batting Nightbane's nose again.

"Hey, it's better than getting eaten. be grateful. you look very appetising from this angle" growled Nguvu with a smirk before dropping the pup back on his mane. "I dunno, Amani...so many things have happened recently. still trying to sort things out with life" he growled as he eyed the lioness...

Lusa flopped onto one side and gave a wriggle, trying to rub her fur back to the way it was. Uzuri grinned, amused, and turned back to her discussion with Night, who did the same with a quiet snort.

"Ah. I guess I could just wait until later for a answer, then," rumbled Amani, still chuckling from Lusa thinking she was about the get eaten. "Lusa, do you HAVE to bat Nightbane with your paw that much? He didn't even do a thing to you other than lick your fur!" growled Amani, completly joking about what had just happened between Nguvu and Lusa.

Amani's new words had really discomforted Nguvu. she was pushing more than he liked. he felt pressured, and that, in turn, bred rejection. after that little incident...his bias towards Uzuri had increased. to make sure his thoughts would not draw anymore attention, he turned his focus on Lusa. chuckling, he brought both his paws in on the pup and lifted her over his face again, proceeding to lick her several more times, making sure that she looked like a very fuzzy, half soaked black ball. "That look suits you, Lusa" he growled with a smirk...

"It sure does, Nightbane," grunted Amani, still smiling and chuckling, not only because of what Lusa had looked like but because she finally knew she really was in love with Nguvu after all. But, she felt she pressured him too much, and decided to see what was going on between Night and her sister.

Lusa squeaked in surprise, shaking herself. She redoubled her efforts to rub her fur back to normal, flipping around and wriggling almost frantically. "Covered in lion spit again," she yipped, panting as her efforts began to tire her.

Nguvu dropped the pup on his stomach, in the midst of the ends of his mane, before stretching, the lion's massive muscles rippling powerfully under his skin, his claws extending as he flexed his paws, yawning widely, the rumbling growl that came with it reverberating in the cave...

Lusa sprawled across the lion's stomach, feeling the vibrations of his growl. Her tongue lolled out as she panted, her fur sticking up at odd angles as opposed to how it was supposed to lie.
