[The Kingpin]

Nguvu snarled, bolting after the lioness. he didn't know what he'd do, but he decided he'd figure it out when he got to that part. the lion tore through the jungle, using the path Amani used to make things easier, clearing the way for him, rushing to try and catch the lioness...

Uzuri bolted after Nguvu, leaving Night staring after the lions. The white wolf turned away as the tip of Uzuri's tail disappeared, looking at Lusa. "In the cave," she growled, before throwing back her head to let out a long howl.

Uzuri heard Night's howl, and somehow the sound seemed to lend speed to her paws. She lengthened her stride and extended her claws, digging them into the earth to give her a little more speed. Amani...please don't do anything reckless! she thought, hoping they could catch her sister before she got herself hurt...or killed.

Amani started to pick up her speed as she heard thundering footsteps closing in on her. "Why are you following me, Nguvu?" roared the lioness as she continued running away, angered that her own sister and Nguvu had betrayed her like this.

[The Kingpin]

"I can't let you leave, Amani" he growled. "What kind of monster would i be if i let this happen and didn't stop it?" he snarled as he charged after the lioness...

[UndeadRaptor]

"You broke my heart, Nguvu! I don't want to be near your for as long as possible!" growled Amani, still rushing towards Shadow's pride and territory. She roared at Nguvu and Uzuri one last time as she bolted out of the jungle, and continued moving in the open plains...

"Amani, please!" Uzuri cried. "Stop and think for a second! I know you're hurting, but just listen to us for a minute!"

Amani suddenly stopped, almost tripping over as she did so, realising that what she was going to do was wrong. She waited for her sister to talk some sense into her head, and see if Nguvu would apoligize for the pain he had just caused her.

Nguvu slowed once he saw Amani stop, and slowly walked towards her. "Amani. You know i care about you. both of you. I never wanted to hurt you...and the last thing i want is for you to be angry with your sister because of me" he growled, his head lowered...

Uzuri skidded to a halt in front of her sister, panting, glad that Amani had finally stopped. "Look...you know that wasn't the way I would've wanted you to find out," she growled quietly. "And I know that any way we told you, it would've hurt you. But I never meant to hurt you; I knew you liked Nguvu, and that you'd known him longer, so I tried not to fall for him. I really did." She lowered her head, murmuring, "I didn't want to end up losing you again."

"It's not really you I'm angery at, Uzuri, it's you, Nguvu. You tore my heart out. I may never forgive you for it," rumbled Amani sadly, a tear slowly sliding down her cheek. "I don't know if Uzuri told you yet or not, but, I'm completly in love with you. There has never been any other lion that I have met before that is as great as you. Not even your brothers would be as nice, strong, and caring for others like you. I'm sorry I didn't let you know earlier, but, I was just too shy to show you how I felt, I thought it would completly upset Uzuri and cause her to leave or something," the lioness growled in a deeply saddened tone, glancing over towards her sister who was nearby.

"Why would I leave because you followed your hearts?" Uzuri growled, cocking her head. "I would've been happy for you both. And who knows...maybe I would've found another lion somewhere." She shrugged. "I wouldn't leave the only family I have left," she finished quietly.

[UndeadRaptor]

"I didn't know, Uzuri. If I knew sooner, I would've talked to Nguvu about how I felt about him," growled Amani, slightly cheering up. She instantly looked at Nguvu, not knowing if he'd change his mind about what he had done that had almost caused her to join Shadow and his tretcherous younger brothers that had all betrayed Nguvu and his father.

"Nobody's perfect, Amani. not even me. i try my best. i wish i could be, for both of you, for everyone i know and care about....but i can't. i'm sorry" he growled as he stared down at the ground, his claws sheathing and unsheathing repeatedly, ripping gouges into the ground at his feet. "I only wish i could do something to make it better" he finally rumbled with a sigh, quite literally lost for words

"It isn't your fault though, Nguvu. It's mine. If I only talked to you about this earlier..." Amani rumbled, lowering her body to the ground, tears slowly coming out from her eyes. "I just... don't even think I'll find a lion as great as you, Nguvu," Amani continued, starting to shed tears even faster, almost sobbing at the fact that she really wasn't going to find another lion atleast as great, if not better, than Nguvu himself. The fact remained simple for her, she wasn't going to have a mate as nearly as perfect as Nightbane himself for her whole life, unless Nguvu would change his mind, knowing that his brothers wouldn't be any help, even if she joined them.

Nguvu's eyes regained their firm gaze as he looked down at Amani, one paw moving forward to her chin and lifting it up so she would face him. "Listen to me, Amani. My brothers and I are not the only lions in the world. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of lions out there. and i am hardly the best. i've come across many far better than myself in my time alone. lions i aspire to be like. you WILL find a lion for you, and he will be better than me" he growled firmly...




Meanwhile...



"Kill them" growled Shadow as he roamed the borders with Jino and Kubwa, using the solitude and distance from the pride to cover his actions. Kubwa was slightly behind his brother, the conscern and discomfort in his face hiddon from the elder lion. "But how? there are three of them, and only two of us" snarled Jino. "Patience, brother. Do you think i haven't taken into account that Nguvu could squash you like a bug?" rumbled Shadow, eyes narrowed. Jino's ears drooped. "Hey, i can handle my own! i just can't handle being outnumbered" he retorted. "Well then. This should be easy. I want you two to go to Kuruk. Tell him it's time he returned Shadow's favour. He will listen. and he will help you do what you must" snarled Shadow. Jino began to laugh, the sadistic snicker soon coming into a full scale cackle. "Nguvu doesn't stand a chance! Come on, Kubwa! it's HUNTIN' TIME!" snarled Jino, before heading for the border at a slow run, Kubwa following silently. this was wrong. he couldn't let this happen. he had to stop it...but how? he followed his brother silently in thought, Shadow watching them leave, a malevolent grin forming on the lion's face as he saw his plan begin to unfold. Soon....the only threat to his power would be eliminated...and he would have what his father could only have dreamed of. Watch me Shujaa. Watch as I do what you could never HOPE to achieve thought the Lion as he turned away, finishing his patrol and returning to the pride...

Uzuri gave her sister's ears a comforting lick. "He's right," she growled. "C'mon...get up. You'll find someone...probably sooner than you think."

[UndeadRaptor]

"But there are very few of our kind left," growled Amani, staring into Nguvu's eyes, still somewhat saddened, but not as much. "Possibly just your brothers, their pride, and us. I have yet to meet any of our species that are still alive besides you two and you brothers, Nguvu," She added, still looking into his eyes.

"They are rare, yes. but not impossible to find" growled Nguvu. "And you can't really narrow it down to a certain number in a certain time period. afterall, you ran into me, my brothers, and several of their pride, in a matter of days. whose to say there's not another group somewhere beyond the jungle? for all you know, there may be a young male in my old pride. afterall, there's not that much chance that one male could usurp three, without help" he explained with a smile...

"Your probally right, so maybe tommarow we could look around this place a little bit more?" rumbled Amani, completly cheering up. "If there are stil some more that what I had reduced the number too, maybe I might have still have a chance of having a mate, and maybe with us three and my mate, we could start a new pride in this area, and furthermore, our cubs could play with Lusa if she's still young by then," she growled, a smile starting to spread across Amani's face as she pulled herself up.

"Speaking of Lusa," Uzuri growled, relieved that her sister was feeling a little better, "I'm sure she's worried. Why don't we head back?"
