Isla Sorna Stories RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

"I ran into her one day, we talked a while and...before long I started getting feelings for her. I was a fool to let it go as far as I did when I clearly wasnt ready for love, but by time I realized that it was too late. She was thinking about raising hatchlings and we had built a nest. By the coast, in a cave" Aircrest carried on, feeling his heart get heavy not by guilt, but genuine sadness at what could've been if he had been a little braver. "I left her. No words said. Just years of knowing I had broken someone's heart and sadness because of that. I took to a life of solitude to prevent it from happening again and tried my best to forget about love, and anything even related to the word. Thats how I became the loner you knew. Selfish, reckless and no regard for my life because... I was waiting to die" He finished. "All these years I never forgave myself for what I did. Not until yesterday, thanks to Hellfire"

Selena sighed quietly. Her heart went out to both Aircrest and Arisol; the female who must have wondered why Aircrest suddenly left, and Aircrest, who had had the chance to be happy and given it up.

"So...ya. The last few days have been....strange" Aircrest growled. He tilted his head to one side. "I never told anyone this before. Except Hellfire, and thats because I saw what happens when you lose your mind, he was my example! If I continued on, keeping these problems to myself- ...I could have felt myself losing my grip on reality. There are...other things Ive done in my life. Things that I have come to regret. Remember Jaz? One of my friends from those times... I wasnt too different from the Aircrest you knew when I knew her and that group she tagged along with. We know how she ended up" He growled lowly. "Thats something different in of itself... Im not going to confront those memories" He added. He cleared his throat and grunted "So I know whats been bugging me all this time. Doesnt really make me feel good other than the fact I dont have flash backs anymore. I also know your the one that I care for now...and that Im a lot stronger than I was before and I made you a promise to stay with you...and thats about it" the raptor said, finding talking about the matter like that a bit surreal

Not having been quite as hungry as her brother, Sylicora was the first of the twins to step back from the kill, licking at the blood dripping down her muzzle. Rhojis continued down the stegosaur's calf, though ripping out smaller chunks of the muscle more slowly, indicating he was nearly finished. Deciding to get out of the others' way for the moment, the green raptor turned and put some distance between herself and the kill, soon turning again and pacing idly between the trees, not feeling quite like resting at that moment. Her mind was still turning over recent happenings, wondering when they'd hunt their next stegosaur, if Pulsar would stay with the pack, what Rhojis was going to tell her that he seemed so reluctant to reveal... Suddenly something inside her seemed to drop and she stopped pacing, recalling the faintly pained, almost guilty look he had when Fatalis reminded him about it. What could he have done that was so bad he didn't want his own sister to know? The raptor stayed where she was, glancing quickly at her off-white striped brother, suddenly unsure of what to do. Just then she saw him turn away from the kill, licking his muzzle as she'd done, and glance in her direction. Feeling her foreclaws clench nervously, she hoped he wasn't going to walk over to talk to her, afraid of what he might say...

After a few minutes of walking, Switchblade came to a halt in front of a red brick building with a badly rusted metal staircase leading up the side to the broken window she'd previously used as an exit. "Here it is..." She put one foot cautiously on the first step, not looking forward to climbing it. As she recalled, the farther up she was, the more unstable it felt. "This'll be fun," she muttered, glancing over her shoulder at Rose. "Uh, I'm honestly not sure if it's a good idea for both of us to be on here at the same time..."

"Then you go ahead and call for me once you're off of it," Rose growled, cocking her head at the noise Switchblade's step had made. "I'll follow."

Howler stood straight after finishing his portion of the meal, glancing at Sylicora curiously as he saw her foreclaws clench. "Uh... you okay?" he hissed.

"Huh? Oh... yeah, fine," Sylicora hissed, gaze snapping quickly from Rhojis to Howler, claws uncurling as suddenly as they'd clenched. "I was just... thinking." Her eyes again flicked momentarily back to her brother, who she noticed with a slight jolt, was starting to walk around the carcass toward her...

"Alright." Switchblade glanced back down at the staircase and, moving carefully so she didn't trip, started upwards, feeling the construction start to sway lightly from side to side. When she was about two thirds of the way up, she slowed down, soon finding that it helped with the wavering alot. Reaching the top, a small rusted platform with a large gap in its twisted railing, the Lili glanced down, shifting slightly closer to the edge. She crouched slightly, then leaped from the platform, flank nearly scraping the window frame, and landed lightly inside the apartment. A quick glance around revealed no one, though the scents were still oddly strong. Leaning toward the window, she called out, "I'm in! Coast looks clear."

"Better to face a harsh truth than to spend the rest of your life pretending it didn't happen," Selena growled quietly. She leaned forward to nuzzle the green raptor. "I love you too," she added.

Howler stared at Sylicora, unconvinced. Nevertheless, he simply hissed, "Alright..." Lowering his head to continue his meal, he muttered, "We all have our secrets..."

Aircrest let out a sigh, feeling somewhat relieved. It was good to know that the mutant look alike was going to stay with him despite leaving a mate before, and he was now determined not to let history repeat itself. He let a small smile creep onto his face and he growled with a sly yet quiet tone "I thought we already established that"

Selena snorted. "Shall we continue?" she growled, smiling.

Rose took her first tentative steps on the uneven slope, slightly unnerved by the clicking her claws made on the unnatural surface. The swaying didn't really help matters; She felt like she was going to fall. She was glad when she made to stepped up again and inched her foot forward to find only a flat surface. It seemed she'd reached the top. Turning her head to locate Switchblade, she found her friend's scent seened to vanish here; however, it was still strong in the area. Was there a gap? How far was it? The blind raptor raised her nose to try and judge how far away Switchblade was.

Aircrest nodded, slowly moving forwards. "So, what about you? Any previous engagements?" He growled, cocking his head at the female. He only knew about what happened to her family, but beyond that her past was a mystery to him. He was interested in her days as a loner

"No," Selena growled. "I wasn't interested in a mate for a long time after Riptide and his lackeys slaughtered my family....Looking back, I suppose I was scared that he was searching for survivors, and didn't want to go through the same thing twice," she added thoughtfully.

"Sorry for your loss. It doesnt help much, but... eh" Aircrest growled with a shrug, not really sure what else to say. Feeling sorry for someone never accomplished anything, and he thought pitying someone was an insult. "How were those days?" He asked, changing the subject to something less personal. "Did you spend your time in any particular part of the island?"

"The first weeks were spent running and avoiding. Running to get as far away from my home as I could, and avoiding any other raptors at all costs," Selena growled. "But after that I actually started to enjoy the life of a loner. No rules. No restrictions other than common sense. Nothing to stop me from going where I wanted, when I wanted." She paused to let the memories wash over here for a moment, then went on, "I never really spent a whole lot of time in one place. At least, never more than a week or so."

"So thats how you wound up in that wasteland?" Aircrest growled. "Sounds like you took a wrong turn somewhere. Then again, so did I if I. If I hadnt, I wouldnt have met you" He barked, staring off into the distance in thought. "Weird how things work out like that" He grunted, glancing to Selena. "Thanks... for understanding" The jade raptor added a moment later. "Heading into Death valley was one mistake I dont regret" he growled, brushing against Selena's side

After a while of walking, Aircrest stepped into a patch of sparse plants and bushes scattered about the way. He saw the familliar fallen tree, its branches shoved into the soil and propping it up at an angle. A break in the tree tops let the sun fall right on it, making it ideal for sun bathing. "This looks like a place to spend a lazy day, doesnt it?" He growled, looking about the area and taking a few whiffs of the air, making sure nothing was lurking out of view.

Bloodtooth awoke after a deep sleep, it was dusk and the dead Gallimimus next to him that he had brought down yesterday was covered in flies and a few compies were eating as much as they could of the rotting carcass, a quick roar from Bloodtooth soon scared them away, he watched as the frightened and confused creatures bumped into each as other as they ran.
Now that the scavengers had been chased away it was time to hunt.

"-hear me? Say something dammit! Do you read?!" the voice yelled into his ear, causing him to cringe. "I'm here, I'm here. Ran into some...complications." the man responded, looking back toward the jungle where the creature had disappeared. "Do that little maneuver again and I'll have your head. Now...what was it?" the voice responded, sighing heavily in apparent relief. "I...have no idea. It was enormous, scaly, and had a sail." the man said, choosing his words carefully. "Did you use the scope at all?" the voice asked, the man stirring at the question. "I did. You think you can pull up the visuals on your end?" he asked, though the owner of the voice was apparently too busy to respond for several moments.

"Looking at it now...definitely not something native to the area. Not something native to this time period..." it trailed off ominously. The man raised a brow. "What do you mean? Like it was...a dinosaur?" he asked, having suspected such a thing. Or, at least, a dinosaur was the closest thing he could compare the creature to. "I can't be certain...but it looks to be that way. Is it gone?" the voice asked. "I wouldn't be talking to you if it wasn't." he man retorted smugly. "Then continue the mission as planned." the voice said, before cutting off communications...
