it wasn't long before the reached the edge of the territory. Nguvu made a low roar to warn them of his arrival. before long Sitiri and 4 other lionesses came towards them, eying Kubwa. "Did Jino arrive recently?" growled Nguvu. "Yes....He's with Maiara at the moment....what happened?" growled Sitiri, noting the injury on Nguvu's arm. "Maovu sent a bear with Jino and Kubwa to try and kill me before i reached you....Kubwa helped fight it off...though how likely this is to be a trick remains to be seen" rumbled Nguvu, Kubwa lowering his head sadly, though remaining silent. they had every right to be suspicious. "Well....Maiara will want to see Kubwa....though to be honest they're lucky the pride respects her wishes so much. otherwise we'd've likely have simply ripped them apart" responded Sitiri. she turned and lead them to Maiara for the second time that day, the lionesses with her surrounding Kubwa...
"I see the other half of the terrible twosome has arrived" rumbled Maiara as she eyed Kubwa and Nguvu. at her feet, Jino lay, covered in injuries by the pride, though none of them were severe enough to leave a lasting mark...except for one that Nguvu noticed on the lion's face, 4 diagonal gashes going across his face from the right down to the left, glancing off the end of the snout. the lion was unconscious. "Mother..." growled Kubwa as he stepped forward, only to be cut off by Sitiri and Shani, both of them snarling coldly. Kubwa lowered his head, almost to the ground, in submission. "I'm sorry........for everything" he growled. Maiara walked forward, the two lionesses stepping aside for her, her firm emotionless expression softening somewhat. "You've done much to hurt the pride, Kubwa" she growled, Kubwa nodding. "I know mother.......i know" he growled solemnly. "Many lives were lost because of your support for your brother. You know this, do you not?" she continued. "I do" he growled lowly. "And you understand that we can never forgive what you've done. am i right?" she continued. "Yes.....I Do" he growled. "So then, Kubwa....what do you propose we do?" she growled. Kubwa looked up, sadness in his eyes. "Whatever you wish....If you wish to punish me in blood...so be it. If you wish for me to live alone, isolated from everyone else for as long as i live....so be it. If you wish to do to me as you intend to do to Jino..or have already done....i offer myself to you...do to me as you see fit...more than that...double, or triple, or as much as it takes...whatever it takes...If only to please you...and the rest of the pride. I have fully deserved whatever fate you see fit" he growled lowly. Maiara's eyes widened, surprised at the lion's words. "Brave of you, Kubwa....very brave. the pain your loyalty to Maovu has inflicted on the pride could cost you a fate so horrible death would be a release in comparison...especially at the claws of the pride who have suffered so much" growled the matriarch. "I have one condition, though" he growled, Maiara's surprise evident in her eyes. "And that would be?" she growled. "That i live through it in order to fulfill my promise to Nguvu....to stand at his side 5 days for every one i stood at Maovu's" he growled. those words surprised the lioness, and it was evident it had surprised the others in the pride as well. Maiara looked up at Nguvu, who simply nodded, confirming what Kubwa had said. "Well then....the price for your redemption...will be to go with Nguvu...defeat Maovu....and drag him, dead or alive....to me. After that, I will decide if you've earned our forgiveness. his current pride will be left as they are.....If Nguvu sees fit to claim that pride as his own, then that will be their fate. otherwise...they'll be left to live on their own until they find a new lion to lead them" growled Maiara finally. Kubwa lowered his head in gratitude. "I'll fulfill the promise...even if i die in the process" he growled. "None of you are going after him now. Until you've recovered from your injuries, you're still very much at risk if you fight him" growled Maiara. Nguvu nodded, and Kubwa bowed his head lowly. "We recently brought down a buffalo. there's still enough left for you four to eat" she growled as she glanced to her left, Nguvu following her gaze to see a half eaten buffalo lying a few dozen feet away. Kubwa nodded, bowing respectfully to his sisters, before slinking towards the kill, head held low, showing his submission to the pride as he headed for the kill...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
