Else where, Rainbow Scale's eyes opened, a groggy growl coming from him as he woke up from the sleep that the humans had forced upon him once again. The last thing he remembered before waking up was being on the strange island that he had been taken to, then he felt a small pain hit him in the neck, followed by the familiar drowsy feeling that he had felt the first time he had been captured. The Giga wanted to stand, but he couldn't feel his legs yet and decided to wait until he could feel them again before trying...

Rose felt her eyes open slowly. Wherever she was, it sure didn't smell like that other place. It smelled like salt and sand; like the coast. the sea breeze blew over her damp scales. Was she...home? She gave a weak groan and lifted her head. "Switchblade?" she barked hoarsely. "Hellfire? Anybody there?"

In the middle of a clearing not far from the coast, at the edge of a deep stream, a few Corythosaurs were lazily grazing, eating their fill of lush green grass and stripping low branches of their leaves. A couple of young ones chased each other with loud hoots of excitement. The leader of the herd, a big male, was watching over his females and young with fierce pride. His family was flourishing. There were a few nests with eggs just inside the treeline, and it was easy to spot the few pesky predators that tried to snatch a quick meal. He let out a content sigh, and relaxed a bit, lying on one side, still watchful nonetheless.

But unbeknownst to the male, he and his family were being watched. A pair of violet eyes peered from the brush, scanning the herd. Five females. Three nests. Six younger animals. And the big male who bore the scars that showed he'd been attacked before, by other raptors. Maybe he'd fought them off. It didn't matter now. The female turned her head from side to side, looking at the two raptors who were with her. She nodded, and tapped the killer claw of one foot on the ground once. Their pack's signal for be ready to attack. Both raptors flexed their hand claws, a sign that they were always ready.

The leader of the hunt moved off towards the nests, hugging the shadows. Her black coloring helped her stay out of sight, and by a stroke of luck the wind was blowing towards her, carrying her scent away. Purposely, she brushed against a big fern leaf. It swayed, rustling gently, probably catching the attention of the male. But his attention wouldn't stay on her position for long. The other two raptors broke cover and charged the herd, setting off a flurry of panicked noises. The big male's attention swung from the disturbed foliage to the threat to his herd, and he stood, bellowing in a mixture of fear and defiance.

The raptors took it in turns to dart forward to nip at the ankles of the fleeing herd, while the big male bellowed and tossed his head, trying valiantly to protect his family even as he backed away from the glitter of teeth and claws. One of the predators, a mottled green female, snarled back, taking a step forward, forcing the enraged herbivore back further. He wasn't stupid. Trying to fight was suicide. The other, a golden-brown male, screeched a challenge as he made a mock-charge, forcing the Corythosaurus towards the black female's hiding spot.

The leader of the hunting party burst out of the undergrowth, took a running leap, and landed on the flank of the big male Corythosaurus. He bellowed, distracted, and that was the opening the other two raptors needed. The male clawed his way up to the herbivore's neck and drove his teeth and claws in, hoping to hit a major vein. The female latched onto the herbivore's other flank and started kicking, scoring deep wounds into its flesh.

After a few minutes the big male finally collapsed from blood loss and exhaustion, and the leader of the hunting party ran forward to finish it with a quick slice of a claw. "Good work, you two," she barked, panting. "Viridis, Mwuaji, stay here and guard it. Meanwhile, I'll go and get Inculta and Astus. We've got to get the pack fed before something else turns up to steal our meal." She paused. "Remember, if you're challenged, don't take stupid risks. There's only two of you after all. Grab as much as you can carry and run. We'll all meet back up at the big half-boulder."

The male dipped his head, acknowledging the orders they'd been given. Viridis took up a perch on top of their kill, her head swiveling to make sure nothing was sneaking up on them. The herd had regrouped some distance away, hooting and bellowing in distress at the loss of their leader. Mwuaji looked up at Viridis. "You did really well," he growled. She looked down at him with unreadable black eyes; eyes that never failed to unnerve him. He'd never seen a raptor with black eyes before he joined this pack. He had yet to get used to it.

"Focus on your job, Mwuaji," she sighed after a moment, returning to her focused scanning of their surroundings. He refused to let his disappointment show as he turned away. He tried, he really did. He tried to show these raptors that he wasn't just another mutant. That he wasn't a burden on their pack. He tried to fit in, but they were a family group of four. Siri, the black female, was the alpha female of the group. Her mate and partner was Inculta, the one who trusted Mwuaji the least. Astus was Inculta's brother, and Viridis was the daughter of the leaders of the pack. And him? He was just a misfit who had been taken in by the dominant female, but didn't belong here.

He was shaken from his thoughts as Viridis let out a long hiss. His head swung around, dark green gaze fixing on the mottled green female. "Trouble?" he rumbled, scanning the treeline.

"Don't know yet. Keep sharp; I've got movement."

Mwuaji drew in a deep breath, tasting the air, and het it out in a hiss of his own. The scent was familiar to him, and laced with aggression. "Allosaurs. Maybe more than one. They're young males, and they're looking for a fight. They probably heard the herd's panic and smelled the blood, and figured they could get an easy meal."

"Let's ditch the kill, then, and grab as much as we can, like Siri said," Viridis growled. Mwuaji looked at her, different instincts warring inside him. He wanted to defend his pack and their kill; but he knew that two raptors were no match for a pair of young male Allosaurs.

"You go first; I'll follow," he growled after a heavy pause, during which the scent of Allosaurs grew stronger. Now he could hear their footsteps. He turned to keep watch, hearing the sound of ripping flesh, tendon, and muscle as Viridis hacked at the body of the herbivore with her claws and teeth. Finally she pulled away with a sizable chunk of meat, almost staggering under its weight. She settled it in her claws and pulled a second, smaller piece off the carcass to carry in her jaws. Shooting a glance at Mwuaji she turned and fled. For one horrible moment he thought she'd trip; she stumbled, her grip on the piece of meat she held in her claws slipping a bit, but regained her balance and kept running.

Taking another deep breath, Mwuaji jumped to the open wound she'd made in the herbivore's side. He lost precious seconds cutting away a piece that would be big, but not too big to carry. Every moment that slipped by he could hear the two Allosaurs drawing closer; a roar split the silence, frighteningly close, making the golden-brown raptor jump badly. Deciding not to risk staying there longer than necessary, He ripped the loosest piece of flesh he could find free of the carcass, then turned and bolted. Almost at once he saw why Viridis had staggered. The pieces of meat were heavier than he'd expected. But he was a mutant; he could handle this. He was stronger than she was.

Behind him, he heard another roar and the sound of splintering bones. For a moment, outrage consumed him and he saw red. That was OUR kill! But this wasn't the time to turn back. Viridis was probably waiting for him at the half-boulder by now.

Goldeye and Lightfoot slowly woke up, both Ceratosaurs still abit groggy from their sedated trip. As the two of them began to get up onto their feet, a large male Spinosaur approached them, the missing chunk of his sail identified him as Spike. "We're back... we're back home..." Spike growled, the spinosaurus was wide awake, with the sedation having worn off just a few minutes ago for him. BOth Ceratosaurs looked up at Spike, then hissed in happiness. It was a bittersweet happiness for Lightfoot and Goldeye. Yes, they were back on Isla Sorna, but now they'd have to find a new shelter for Lightfoot to rest in. His infected leg wasa handicap, and if they didn;t find him a place to rest in, his life would be in jeopardy...

Lurker's eyes slowly opened up, the gorgonops sleepily looked around himself, seeing he was alone. Suddenly, his nose picked up a scent, one he had missed oh so much. This was where he ahd been born. This was the island he remembered as paradise, his own home...The gorgonops tried to rise up onto his feet, but fell back onto his side. Even in his futile struggle to get up, he failed to notice a track of Tyrannosaur footprints leading on into the main jungle, though the somewhat odd figuration of the footprints would have suggested that the Rex that caused them was still very groggy and tired...

Gothmog opens his dark, beady eyes, and pushes himself off of the ground. He was back home, on the island...... as he should have been. The giga growls before lumbering off into the jungle to go explore. He had much to do.......

Kronos and Lehra awaken as well. The Allosaurs get up shakily to their feet, before observing their surroudings. Orion had not come with them. Lehra looks down at the ground. "I guess the little guy didn't make it......"

Kronos, saddened as well, growls, "It is sad that our good friend had not survived in the wild on his own, but we must continue forward. He would be proud of how far we have come, and we are proud of him for being such a good spirited being. Now, let us go and explore......"

The two Allosaurs jog off into the jungle.....

Both Redtooth and Bloodsail came to near each other. The two Spinos stared at each other in confusion, before turning to the jungle. Bloodsail, still groggy from the tranquilizer, simply stared at the jungle in shock as Redtooth stood with a slight smile on his maw. "Home at last," he growled. "I guess those humans aren't nearly as bad as I thought..." Ignoring Bloodsail, he headed off into the forest, eager to find his old haunts...

Howler's good eye snapped open. The raptor got shakily to his feet, groaning. "What... was that?" He froze, seeing the island before him. "It's... I'm back? I'm back! Finally out of that hellhole!" Howler would have barked with joy, but he noticed something. Looking around, he saw he was surrounded by other raptors, most of them still asleep, some beginning to wake. "Uh... Fatalis? Sylicora? Rhojis? Renegade? Anybody?" Howler looked around desperately, trying to find his packmates. "Great, just perfect!" he hissed angrily...

Razorwing and Dragonfly had also woken up near each other, and were busy picking their way up the beach. They saw other dinosaurs along the sand, and were busily arguing, trying to find the best place to start looking for the raptors they never got a chance to help...

Pulsar heard a voice, that sounded vaguely familiar. He tried to lift his head, eyes still closed, but his neck would not comply. The voice sounded like it was coming from miles away, echoing down a long, windy tunnel. He let out a low moan...

Sylicora distantly heard multiple voices calling out, but they were so slurred for a few seconds, she couldn’t tell what they were saying. Then her eyes blinked half-open, the world coming into soft focus, the sounds around her starting to sharpen. Blinking, she lifted her head, looking around in confusion. "H-Howler? S'at you?" she hissed, trying to push herself into a crouch, but swaying, even with both hands on the ground to steady herself. As she looked around in groggy bewilderment, a familiar face came into view a few feet to her side as Rhojis' head rose up off the sand. Wait, sand? Where was she? This couldn’t be what she thought, could it? But the more she looked around, and the clearer the world became, she realized it was true. "What happened? Are… are we where I think we are?" Rhojis hissed out loud to no one in particular, rubbing a clawed hand over his face as though he thought his eyes might be deceiving him. "Yeah... we are," Sylicora hissed, a grin spreading across her face. “They brought us home!” She tried to stand abruptly, her legs shaking so badly she nearly collapsed again. But she managed somehow to stay on her feet and glanced around at the other raptors, trying to find the rest of the pack...

Switchblade made a low noise somewhere between a groan and a hiss, opening one eye to a slit, then immediately squeezing it shut against the sun. She thought she just heard leaves rustling close by, but how could that be? How could the sun be shining in her eyes for that matter? She was on the second floor of a building, far above the foliage at ground level... wasn't she? At least, that was what she kept seeing, kept reliving in her dreams. Being in that room, seeing shadows, feeling pain, blacking out. Then it started over, the cycle feeling like it went on for days, until the moment she'd heard the rustle. Shifting her head away from the direct sunlight, she opened her eyes again, blinking as she became half-aware of the sandy ground she was on, light tufts of sand-colored grass waving gently around her. "Rose... the Caudipteryx is gone... everything’s gone..." she mumbled, clearly confusedly, still not trying to move. She wasn’t aware that a third of her kind, white-gray skin blending into the spotty grass and sand, was curled in the shadow of a bushy coastal plant a few yards away, still unconscious...

Chopper slowly woke up, notcing he wasn't on the ruff surface of asphalt anymore. He was on a beach, that wasn't familiar to him or his pack. "Where are we?" the raptor growled to himself as he tried lifting his body up, only to fall back down with a mild thud.

Flamejaw barked in joy and happiness a few moments after she woke up, rushing over to her mate, Chopper. She appeared scared of the new enviorment the group was in though, and with all the other sleeping predators around, that had made matters even worse.

Brute slowly awoke next to one of his surviving siblings and the rest of the pride, and started nudging the ones still sleeping on the head once he had gotten his walking straight to wake them all up. He let out a deep, yet small roar to wake up his packmates and bretheren so they could all regroup with Flamejaw and Chopper who were both nearby...

Pulsar manage to open one eye, blinking and closing it almost immediately as the brightness blinded him. Instead, he attempted to raise his head once more, a little more successfully than the last time. Still on his side, he tried standing up, rolling his body over so that he would be upright, but it was too much for his weakened muscles, which felt like jelly, and almost immediately gave away, sending him back onto the ground. He slowly cracked an eye open again, seeing hazy raptor shapes, surrounded by trees, lying on the sandy ground. His labored brain struggled, slowly making the connection. A flash of comprehension dawned on his face, as he realized he was no longer in the human's concrete jungle, as well as realizing the raptors were those he had met earlier while hunting the stegosaurus...

Meanwhile, Renegade was nowhere to be found...

"WE'RE GOING TO STARVE!"
Panicked chattering.

"Are you kidding? They'll have found and killed us all well before then!"
More panicked chattering.

The authoritative voice of Rocket called out above the pack, his growling voice echoing off the dark damp walls of the old subway "Calm down! It's not going to happen! Not again! This time we're ready!"
Sandstorm zoned out, not paying attention to their fearless leader's ranting, nor his panicking pack mates. The noise was deafening, and annoying. The occasional screech would catch his attention, as someone lashed out against someone else, but other than that it was rather uneventful. The tan raptor sighed, but wasn't necessarily sad. This had happened before. He was used to it, change. It wasn't a big deal. If anything, he welcomed it. It felt good to have that feeling inside him once more... He'd felt it as a hatchling, when he was accepted by Rockfist and Softfoot, he felt it when his pack was torn to shreds, when they'd killed the damned Oviraptors. When he got together with Shadowleaf. No matter how dire the situation, that feeling had always spurred him on. He didn't know what to call it. Some times it meant catastrophe, other times it meant success. But it always meant that it was time to move on.

With a grunt, he turned his back on his arguing friends and trotted up the stair well, claws clacking off the worn concrete, past the blood stained wall, and out into the open air. The last light from the sun was disappearing quickly.

"Well?" Hissed the black mutant, her colourful quills perked up, as if on edge, yet her amber eyes relaxed and cool.
Sandstorm glanced at her and growled "The usual. No big surprise."

She hopped down off the old twisted metal railing and growled, with a chuckle "I see, so what now? Claw a few faces, bark at a few hatchings, claim dominance?" Sandstorm laughed, as much as a Raptor could, growling sarcastically, but light heartedly "Oh yeah definitely. All hell breaks loose, what's the first course of action? Lets claw each other's brains out"

The female raptor laughed too, replying "Yeah well, it worked wonders in the past." before grinning. Sandstorm laughed too.

Sandstorm looked up, staring at one of the huge human structures, the massive crumbling grey tower leaning precariously to one side. He hissed softly "Hey Softfoot..."
"Yeah?" She replied, glancing at him.
"You know how you can get inside some of those things? What's it like to get to the top of them?"
After a short reply, she replied "No idea, I never tried."
Sandstorm stared at her, frowning, before hissing "Wow, your boring."
She shot a glance back at him, growling "Coming from the pack rat?" She spat distastefully before continuing "Go on, you climb it!"

Sandstorm paused. There was that feeling. He replied "Ok, sure."
And then set off, walking towards the tower in the distance. Softfoot made a confused noise, Sandstorm looking back at her "You coming?" The mutant grinned, bounding forward to match his pace, hissing "Welcome back."
Sandstorm grunted with laughter and barked "Just like old times!"
Softfoot added "Down 4 or 5 raptors, and still going strong."
Sandstorm barked loudly, affirming what she'd said, just in case anyone in earshot didn't believe them. The two walked in silence for a few moments, before Sandstorm looked at her and hissed "Race you there?"

"Quiet! ...Giving me a headache..." Zheja snarled to a nearby raptor, one who seemed to be listing off a bunch of names. He looked toward the green raptor that approached him, staring at it through half-closed eyes. "Do...I know you?" he growled, trying to stand once again, this time managing to keep his legs steady, though they were still partially numb...

Rapture's head pushed through the leaves of the fern, watching as a number of raptors woke from their slumber. "This is bad." he hissed to himself, positioning himself so that he was laying on his stomach, before trying to stand again. Although his legs were shaky, he was able to stand. Keeping himself low to the ground, the Liliensternus crept toward the jungle, hoping to avoid any unwanted attention from the raptors...

After a few failed attempts, Lurker finally rose up onto his feet. The gorgonops looked around, now taking in the full beauty of the beach he was on. A little down the beach, he saw a large bull Spinosaurus (Spike) head off into the jungle, two Ceratosaurs trailing behind him. As Lurker watched, he noticed that one of the Ceratos seemed to be limping. If the humans were as bad as that deinonychus said they were, surely that limping Cerato would have been killed by them... Lurker shook his head, forcing the thought away as he began to wander off toward the jungle, hoping to find himself a new territory. He remembered that there was an amazing variety of prey here on the island, prey that he hadn't been able to hunt ever since he was taken to that former human place...

about 500 yards into the jungle, Blackscale kept wandering, the female Tyrannosaurus heading for where her former territory had been. the scents of rare and exotic plants, many of them only found ehre on Isla Sorna, filled her nostrils, and high up above the forest canopy, a small flock of Pterodactylus flew overhead, the insectivore's chattering bringing many lost and valuble memories to the female Tyrannosaurus. Here was where she belonged... She missed this island, where time seemed to stand still.

"Just as much as I know you; and all I know about you is that Selena knows you" Aircrest growled dismissively. Though he was reverting to his regular state, he was still pretty tired. He needed rest, and he was going to do just that. "Good to see you made it back in one peice" The green raptor grumbled before staggering off towards the tree line, intending to find a tree branch to recouperate on

"...Right. Nice to see you too." Zheja growled, the mention of Selena causing him to come partially back to his senses. He remembered their trek through the wastelands...good times. Shaking his head, the black and white raptor followed after his new green acquaintance, trying his best to stay on his feet.

Sand sifted around the raptor's foot prints as he made his way towards the greenery. He moved past lines of palm trees, and soon the sand turned into dirt. The feeling was better than what he had felt in his dream, as it was actually real. Aircrest had his snout pointed upwards, trying to find trees with strong enough branches to support him. The search didnt take long. Aircrest found himself looking up at a moss covered giant with vines draping down from the leafy heavens. It was a sight for sore eyes for him, but then came the trouble. In his state, he didnt know if he could calculate a jump to a branch. There was a chance he'd over shoot it, and he wasnt about to risk that. Instead, he simply walked to the plant's roots and nestled himself inbetween them, laying on the soft moist ground

Rhojis blinked up at Howler, Sylicora giving a nod that made her knees buckle, though she didn't stop grinning. "Yeah, we're fine. A little... drowsy is all." "I can't believe we're actually home..." The gray raptor then lifted himself tentatively off the ground, feeling precariously perched on his partially-numbed legs. "Ugh... but I hope they never do this to us again," he hissed as he swayed slightly on the spot...

Slowly, Switchblade's mind started to clear and she became more aware of her surroundings, at the same time gaining back more feeling in her limbs. Her orange-crested head finally lifted off the sand, eyes scanning what she could see of the beach and treeline. Immediately noticing the large group of raptors not too far away, her first thought was that she might be able to find Rose- or someone else she knew- among them. Muscles trembling slightly with the exertion, she rolled into a crouch and slowly raised her head higher, eyes scanning over each raptor. She was surprised how many she didn't recognize, and wasn't altogether too eager to go walking carelessly into a huge group of strangers. She had almost heaved herself to her feet when she glanced away from the pack, toward the forest, felt the sand shift underfoot, and promptly fell forward with a dull thud, squeezing her eyes shut against the sand. But just before she lost her balance, she thought she'd seen a familiar-looking shape moving toward the trees. Not quite sure if she'd really seen it or was just still drowsy, the Lili tried again to push herself up...

Zheja, seeing the green raptor lay next to the tree, shrugged and found a nearby bush to rest behind, not exactly wanting to be exposed while in such a dreary state.

Rapture heard the thud behind him, which only motivated him to move faster. As he increased his speed, his partially numb legs gave out on him, causing him to fall into another fern, his tail being the only part of his body still in view afterward. Realizing this, he tried to pull the limb in, curving it around the fern, to try and hide himself from what he believed might be chasing him...

"I'm home. I thought that I would be stuck on that island for the rest of my life" growled Blue stripe as he got to his feet and walked into the jungle before him. The rex was eager to get back to his old territory, the area that he had lived his life in since he had left his parents...
