Nguvu walked carefully, wary of his footing, suddenly picking up the wolves' scent again. moving back and forth warily, he found a hole. lowering his head to it he found the scent's source...as well as a hissing sound. moving his head swiftly, he realised a snake had made it's home in the hole due to lack of use. sniffing around, he picked up a relatively reliable trail, and began following, searching for the wolves...

Kubwa meanwhile watched the mist-like vapour from the waterfall drift into the cave slowly. it stopped just short of where he was, but a long narrow stream on one side of the cave was rippling from the draft, the walls wet with the vapour, Kubwa realising the stream led into the cave, forming a small pool not far from the depths of the cave. a natural stone watering hole...convenient. sighing, the Lion continued to stare out of the cave sadly...at the moment he felt almost unwelcome...as if the only reason he was tolerated was because of his brother...thoughts wandered to Uzuri. out of respect for Nguvu he avoided making too much of an effort to talk to her. but with Amani seemingly disliking him...it made him wonder if Uzuri felt the same way, but stayed silent for Nguvu.....or perhaps she hadn't had the opportunity or reason to make it known she disliked him yet....but then...what if it was only Amani. perhaps....could that be why she said she wanted to leave in the first place? to get away from him? the Lion stared out of the cave miserably. things were starting to look unpleasant the more he thought about it, the lion deciding to have mercy on himself by not thinking about it at all, instead trying to distract himself by staring at the droplets of water forming on the cave wall at the entrance, in hopes it'd make him forget...

Uzuri was right behind Nguvu, her claws itching with worry. Now they knew Night and Lusa had gotten out, but...where were their wolf friends now?

Nguvu continued to folow the scent, soon reaching the top of the cliffside. "you ok Uzuri?" he growled over his shoulder to make sure Uzuri hadn't been having trouble following. being almost exclusively living in plains there was the possibility she wasn't as used to such variable and rough terrain as he was...

"Yeah. I'm okay," Uzuri growled. her pads were a little raw from walking on the rough stone, but it was nothing a quick dip in a stream wouldn't soothe. "But I'll feel a lot better once we find Night and Lusa."

Nguvu nodded. moving onwards, the trail began to get stronger...and another scent joined in. a third wolf. Nguvu's eyes narrowed. Night wasn't the kind to let others in easily. the only reason he managed was because he didn't give her much of a choice, and the situation with Lusa helped keep them from just running off...

Sharp Claw started sniffing the air, picking up the scents of a pair of lions coming closer and closer to them. "Heads up, guys, we got company!" the wolf suddenly barked, turning around, snapping into a defencive position, waiting for the two larger predators to come to him...

Uzuri could smell the unfamiliar wolf too. The scent was that of a male, from what she could tell. She cocked her head, surprised. Night didn't seem the type to just take a mate out of the blue, or let just anyone in...especially after she and Lusa had just barely escaped the claws of a bear.

as Nguvu neared, he saw a wolf snarling at them. "Two wolves. a white female and a black cub. where are they?" rumbled the lion...

Sharp suddenly stopped snarling at the lion infront of him, and lossened up his tensed muscles, asking with a growl, "wait, you know Night and Lusa? Ok, I'll lead you to them, they're in their new home," leading the two lions shortly after. "Be careful, some of these platforms tend to drop if you put too much pressure on them," the wolf rumbled, continuing towards the cave, finally reaching it, and barking into it, waiting for a response from either Night or Lusa...

Night was perched on top of a huge boulder with a relatively flat top, near the back of the cave. A few other boulders served as stepping-stones of sorts, providing an easy way to and from her current resting spot. Her blue eyes gleamed as she watched Sharpclaw lead Nguvu and Uzuri inside. Up here, she was relatively well-hidden, but she knew that her scent would lead them right to her, even if they wouldn't see her just yet. She flicked her tail, the tip brushing Lusa's flank, startling the dozing black pup. "Look sharp, pup," she murmured. "We've got company."

Uzuri's ears twitched. We could easily be strangers, or part of maovu's pride, looking to kill Night and Lusa and take this cave for our own, she thought. And yet he leads us right to them? Her eyes narrowed slightly. He's not the brightest, is he?

Once Sharp Claw reached the entrance of the cave, he growled into it, his voice echoing out the words, "Night! Lusa! Some of your friends are here to see you!" as he wandered into the darkened cave, still prepared to attack the lions behind him if needed to do so. He stopped and waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, before continuing on, looking for Night and Lusa in the cave, not knowing where they were...

Lusa suddenly let out a yip. The sound bounced from cave wall to cave wall, floor to ceiling, echoing eerily and making it difficult to pinpoint the source of the high-pitched call. Night's low growl began once the yip had begun to fade out, echoing in the same way. The wolves were there...but where exactly was the question to be answered.

Sharp Claw continued through the deeply darkened cave, before noticing a small white blur a few feet away. "Guys, some lions came here to see you, they say they know you both!" the wolf growled, still prepared to fight if the lions tried pulling off something, as he walked through the narrowing home of rocks, getting coser to Night, still ahead of the lions...

"Shall i take a guess and say that you haven't told this wolf about us, Night?" rumbled Nguvu lowly as he entered behind the male wolf...

Night's growl faded out, replaced by a short, low chuckle. "I have no obligation to tell someone I just met everything about my life," she growled, standing, her white fur easily visible even in the gloom, though her black foreleg was less noticeable, making it seem as if she only had three legs. Uzuri looked up at the female wolf and could understand what Nguvu meant when he said wolves were more graceful than jackals. Night held herself in a proud, defiant way, her tail held high, almost kinked over her back. "It's good to see you're alright, Night," the white lioness growled, smiling.

"Ah" growled Nguvu simply, his massive paw coming down over the male wolf's head, sending him face first into the ground, keeping his claws sheathed. it'd leave a nasty bruise and he wouldn't forget the pain any time soon. "Next time, check before letting a pair of enormous predators into the den of someone that's supposed to be your friend. were i not a friend of Night's i could've killed you, then killed her and Lusa. Keep that in mind next time you're told that someone 'knows' Night and Lusa" he growled lowly, before walking forward. "I'm sorry about the lions and the bear...I should've known better than to come to you while i was in the jungle.....left a damned trail right to your home" he growled lowly, apologising to his friend...

"Hey! You could've just warned me, and besides, I'm not as dumb as a pile of rocks, you know!" Sharp growled somewhat angered, before stopping, knowing he would never be able to take on a full grown lion twice his size. He pucked his snout out of the ground, and spit out some dirt that made home inside of his teeth, before leaping on a fairly large platform hanging out of one of the cave walls, laying down on it shortly afterwards, his head throbbing in pain...

Lusa stifled an oncoming fit of laughter by biting her tongue, but she couldn't keep back a grin. Night growled, "It's not like you meant to lead them to us." She gave a shrug before lifting Lusa by her scruff and bounding down the boulders to stand before the lions. Releasing the pup, who hastened to greet her friends, she added, "Don't beat yourself up over it."

A barely noticeable smile spread across Sharp Claw's face, as he listened to Lusa giggle at his anger, before leaping off the perch, bowing down to the four in respect, as he usually does with animals that are bigger, stronger, and more powerful than himself, before walking up towards Night's flank. "I wasn't beating myself up because of that, Night. Just got a little angered from that lion batting me in the head," he barked silently, staying next to the white wolf, before whacking a rock out of the way, watching it smash into the cave wall then bounce off...

"Still....i shouldn't've put it past my backstabbing brother to track me. in any case, those events are taken care of, and one of my brothers has gone against him. he's on our side now. keeping an eye on our new home in the jungle. which reminds me. how does a waterfall, plenty of peace, prey to feed you for years and safety from whatever insane fool might want to get at you for whatever reason, sound to you?" growled Nguvu as he eyed the white wolf, ignoring the somewhat dim witted male with them for now...
