"Whats it like?" Aircrest's double growled as they continued on across the plain. The low fog had started rolling out from the jungle, and in what seemed like no time at all, the entire field was covered. "Whats what like?" Aircrest hissed, looking at the ground. He was perplexed at the strange mist. "Being a selfish jackass" The other raptor growled, paying no mind to his surroundings. "I feel like Ive heard this before..." Aircrest replied absent mindedly. "No suprise there. Im sure others have picked up on your nature" The doppleganger barked. "Its your nature too, idiot" Aircrest snarled, shaking his head. "Not true. I have not done anything selfish" The other raptor growled smugly. "But your me" Aircrest continued. "If your me, and if Im selfish, your selfish."
"Wrong" The raptor growled dismissively. "You see, I have a mate. One I love very mu-"
"What the F*CK!?" Aircrest hissed. He stopped dead in his tracks and spun on his heels to look at his double. "You just 'appeared', but you have a mate!?"
"Seems pretty logical to me" The raptor growled, tapping his sickle claws against the ground. "How is that logical!?" Aircrest exclaimed. "...I dunno. But I know Im not selfish" The raptor replied before snorting. "...There really is no point to debating..." Aircrest growled before sighing. "Hey, Im not the one having a dream about myself talking to a double of myself, but still I talk to myself" The double hissed. Aircrest fell silent, giving the raptor a distant gaze. "...Just saying" The doppleganger added. Aircrest simply turned away and kept on walking, finding that the grass under his feet had disappeared, replaced with rock. He looked down and cocked his head before looking back up. The plains had disappeared, replaced with giant rock faces. Aircrest was walking along one, looking off the edge to the trees that grew in the narrow valley below. The mist passed over the ledges of the cliffs on either side and moved down into the valley. "Strange, isnt it?" The other raptor growled. "Its been looking like its gonna rain for a while, but there hasnt been a drizzle!"
"Huh?" Aircrest growled, his attention shifting from the sudden landscape change to the cloudy skies above. "Uh...yeah...pretty strange" He barked, raising a scaley eyebrow. "Thats the only thing strange?" He asked the other raptor, who promply grunted "Pretty much"

A few seconds later, a giant chunk of the parrallel cliff suddenly broke off with a low rumbling. Dust billowed out from the break and smaller rocks rained down, while the main peice of the rock slowly floated off.

"...That isnt strange!?" Aircrest hissed. "Not that uncommon, actually" His double deadpanned.

Blue Stripe was now on the northern border of his territory, patrolling for intruders. When he had arrived at the area, he had found, to his relief, that nothing had claimed the area for itself during his time on the strange island. However, now that the rex was back, it was time to make sure that any predators that might have been planning to eventually take this area would find to their disappointment that the owner had returned to defend it...

Fatalis eyed the two, noting what looked like discomfort and nervousness on Rhojis' face. "Hey Rhojis. you up for a walk?" he growled. truth be told, he wanted to get out into the fresh air and cool evening breeze.his untamed nature meant he was somewhat claustrophobic. he hated being inside anywhere for extended periods of time...

Renegade inched slightly from the indent was been lying in, upon seeing Rhojis tensely glance around, and Fatalis get up from his resting spot. He still appeared unconcerned, seemingly not even noticing the others...

Rhojis had started to take a tentative step in Sylicora's direction when he stopped again, glancing at Fatalis and looking indecisive. At that moment, the olive raptor's head popped up out of the leaf bed as she craned and flexed her neck, leaves crackling as she shifted position. "Uh..." For a moment, he was frozen, unsure if he should once again put off what he dreaded to do... Or ask if she could come with them. It might be better to talk to her somewhere farther from the others' ears... "Just us, or is anyone else going too?"

Thorn smiled. "I suppose that settles it then," he growled. Settling into a more comfortable position, he turned his head to scan the sky for the first stars before his gaze settled on the undergrowth around them. Nighttime predators were usually kind of rare around here, but with all of those carnivores showing up all of a sudden, apparently because of the humans, he didn't think there was such a thing as being too careful at the moment.

Alira looked around. After a moment, she growled, "Want to find someplace better to spend the night, or are you good with this spot?"

Howler groaned and shook his head. "And I thought I was easily frightened..." he growled, making sure Rhojis heard him.

"Whichever you preffer. I personally don't mind" he growled. he noticed him staring in Sylicora's direction, and considered suggesting she jointhem, but refraining, not wanting to impose the idea on the obviously uncomfortable raptor...

"I'm not scared to go myself... I just... was curious, that's all," Rhojis hissed, turning his head to shoot Howler a glance that might have been indignantly amused if he hadn't had anything weighing on his mind. The olive raptor had gotten to her feet and was watching the group curiously. Before Rhojis could open his mouth, Sylicora hissed, "Going somewhere?" "Yeah... Just for a walk. You, um... want to come?" "Sure. I could use some fresh air," she hissed with a slight smile that Rhojis attempted to return. He wished the whole ordeal would be that easy...

Haze curled her tail around her bony form, laying her head on the sand, eyes already beginning to close. Switchblade once again gazed out across the sea in the fading light, her conversation with the gray Lili having stirred thoughts she hadn't payed attention to for a long time. Where would their future take them now? Would they seek out the mutant raptors, go their separate ways when they recovered, or possibly stay together? Part of her longed to go back to the old days and live out the life she should have lived with the pack, even though she knew that could never be...

"Alright then. Howler. You, Pulsar and Renegade keep an eye on our home while we're out. if something comes up, Renegade should lead you to the Lone Wolf's meeting spot in the large tree West of here" hissed Fatalis as he eyed Howler, before walking towards the exit of the cave...

Renegade continued to discreetly observe the others, still lazily leaning against the walls of the cavernous hole, carelessly closing his eyes and shifting slightly to the left...

Pulsar, his dark snout stained with the blood of the fresh kill he had dragged in and eaten out of, lifted his head up upon hearing his name said by Fatalis, glancing over curiously...

"So that rock there?" Aircrest growled, gesturing to the floating boulder. "Thats not strange?"
"Not really. Ive seen it before" His double growled. Aircrest's head perked up and he turned to look at the green raptor. "How the hell could you have seen it before?! You never existed until a few minutes ago!"
"...How many 'I dunnos' must I give you before you realize theres no point in asking?" The raptor hissed. "We live in a world devoid of logic, the least you can do is play along with it" He added irritably. Aircrest gave the raptor a long, hard stare. The corner of his mouth twitched a few times. Suddenly, without warning, he charged his doppledganger, slamming into him and sending them both flying off the cliff. "You crazy of son of a b*tch!" The raptor hissed as Aircrest rammed him in the side. "We live in a world devoid of logic! The least you can do is play along with it!" Aircrest snarled sarcastically, before cackling. The double's eyes widened as the tree tops seemed to rush towards him. He let out a screech and closed his eyes, expecting to feel his bones smash against timber in a few mere seconds.

He felt a sudden surge of cool wash over him, and he opened his eyes, finding himself immersed in water. Streams of small bubbles trailed his frantic movement. He gasped, a series of large bubbles escaping from his mouth. He started kicking, using all his strength to make sure he was heading away from the silty bottom. When he broke the surface, he started panting, taking deep breaths. He saw Aircrest, suprisingly, wading in the slow moving stream a few feet away from him. The green raptor was looking at him. "What the hell was that?" Aircrest barked. "Some sort of mating dance? If so, I think I should tell you that Im already involved with someone!" He started laughing. "What the- how the- wha?!" The raptor stammered, glancing around him. They were under the cover of trees again, with the strange mist rolling through the jungle, though it never went over the water. It was as if they fell past the canopy "What the hell just happened?!" He hissed.
"No idea" Aircrest replied. "Though it was pretty damn fun. You wailed like a hatchling!"
"You peice of trike sh*t!" The double snarled, splashing as he made his way towards Aircrest. Aircrest sped off towards the water's edge, speeding up the bank when his feet hit the ground, the other raptor hot on his tail...

Howler sighed and replied, "Sure thing, Fatalis..." Leaning towards Rhojis, he whispered, "You know what to do, I hope?"

"Yeah, more or less," Rhojis replied rather numbly before turning to follow his leader out of the cave. Having lost Howler as backup, his spirits had taken a downturn again, though he tried not to show it. He heard Sylicora's claws clicking up behind him as he made his way to the natural stairway, eyes locked straight ahead...

Aircrest shot through the undergrowth, parting the cover of mist as he passed through. He pushed through some shrubs, falling leaves left in his wake. His double followed a few seconds after, also stripping leaves from the plants. The chased continued on like this for a while, Aircrest tearing through the plants in his way, hopping over logs and rocks and glancing back to see his twin just a few feet behind and not showing any signs of tiring. "You've got a pretty good pair of legs on you, thats for damn sure!" Aircrest barked to the raptor. "Of course you'd say that. Its hard to believe you have a mate when you love yourself so much!" He spat. Aircrest swerved about as he stopped running, sliding across the ground. The doppleganger suddenly locked his feet on the ground, sliding past him. "Where the hell did you get the idea Im self absorbed?!" Aircrest asked, assuming he'd get another useless answer. "Because you think about yourself all the time." The raptor replied simply. "You havent even taken the time to ask me my name!"
"....Your name" Aircrest growled, not exactly sure what to make of that. "Yes. You probably think my name is Aircrest or something!" The raptor hissed. "....Well considering the fact that you appeared out of the blue-" Aircrest began to say before the raptor hissed "Well I have a name! And its a pretty good name too!"
"...So what is it?" Aircrest asked.
"Surmial" The raptor barked proudly. "And where'd you get that from?" Aircrest barked. "....I made it up." Surmial growled. "Just now?" Aircrest grunted. "No" Surmial growled. "I made it up when I thought I was going to die"
"...Really?"
"Well I wasnt going to die nameless!"
Aircrest shook his head. "So you think Im self absorbed because the only other creature Ive run into is myself, and I didnt ask myself what his name was?"
"....No..." Surmial replied. Aircrest blinked a few times. "I dont like you" Surmial hissed. "Im leaving now!" And with that, he stalked off into the shadows and faded away into the mist. Aircrest stared after him for a while, thinking "...Am I such an a*shole that I cant even find good company with myself?"

Howler frowned as Rhojis walked away, not at all convinced. "This ought to be good..." he growled sarcastically. Lying down, he sighed. Great, more waiting around with the crazy one... he thought glumly.

As Fatalis walked out into the cool night air, a faint sigh of relief came from him. he stood still for a moment, glancing around, his ears listening in on the sounds of the surrounding jungle, his nose checking the scents upwind of him. seeing no sign of danger, he began to walk upwind, knowing there was less chance of them being caught by surprise, and therefore, less risk of more stress on the two Raptors with him...

Rhojis stepped into the open air and turned in the direction Fatalis was headed, still several feet behind him, Sylicora in tow. Normally, he would have thought it a refreshing night, Sylicora's next comment confirming that she was thinking the same. "Didn't realize how still it was in there. Breeze feels nice, huh?" "Mhm," was Rhojis reply. After a short pause, her voice rang out again. "What do you think of living underground? Interesting change, isn't it?" "It's different." After a few moments of silence in which the only sounds were their footsteps and the sounds of the forest around them, Rhojis heard the olive raptor's pace quicken momentarily as she moved to his side. Feeling her gaze, he chanced a sidelong glance at her, noticing her look of curious concern. "Why are you still acting like that? Everything alright?" At this, the gray raptor looked away again with an automatic, "Yeah." But after a few seconds, he let out a frustrated sigh. "Is it that obvious? No. Nothing's alright..."

"Alone again, I guess" Aircrest growled, giving the spot where his doppleganger disappeared one last look before starting off again. With each step he took, the mist seemed to rise, inching up his feet and then ankles. He raised a scaley eyebrow but didnt think much about it. After what had happened, nothing in this world would be a suprise, which ironically matched his outlook on life while awake. His attention shifted to his surroundings, which seemed to drag away from around him. The shrubs and trees were peeled away from the landscape and the ground suddenly became metalic. Before he knew what had happened, Aircrest was standing in the InGen complex his old mentor had made his home. The elder was infront of him, laying on the floor in complete silence. His tail was wrapped around one side of his body and his chin was rested on crossed wrists. "Well this is a suprise...first time I come here and he's napping" Aircrest growled. "Not in your lifetime, Aircrest" The elder growled, unmoving. "Uh huh" Aircrest growled, walking up to the old raptor's side. "So why're you sitting here?"
"Waiting for you" The elder replied. "Waiting for me?" Aircrest barked, cocking his head. "What happened to playing around in the shadows?"
"Your arrival here was inevitable, given your habit to come to me when you have a problem" Ripper growled, his voice taking a slightly irritated edge. "So I decided to get comfortable. You know, I find it funny that, in my old age, Im kept busy looking after my apprentices. I am getting too old to be playing parent..."
"I tried to handle my own problems, Ripper" Aircrest growled, crouching down and easing onto his side. "We both know how that worked out" He added with a sigh, overlooking the fact Ripper now knew things he had only recently told Selena. "Yes yes, your past haunted you...but thats not the issue here, is it?" Ripper growled, opening an eye and looking to the green raptor. "I dont know the issue here..." Aircrest growled, looking down at the floor. Ripper snorted. "You know how much I hate having my time wasted"
"Yeah" Aircrest growled, glancing to the elder. "But I really dont know-"
"-Think" Ripper insisted. "I know how much you despise doing it, but use that head for once in your life"
"It has...something to do with me" Aircrest growled. Ripper grunted. "Go on"
"I...feel like Im losing my mind" Aircrest continued. "The mind is a fragile thing" Ripper growled. "Our own Hellfire is an example-"
"-Im about to become my own example!" Aircrest hissed. "Explain" Ripper growled simply. "I want to change" Aircrest growled. "Put my past behind and go on with life, but I just keep going back. Wandering off on my own, playing around with my life-"
"Making my lessons go to waste..." Ripper added, his gaze scolding. "Bite me" Aircrest snarled. "Dont tempt me. If I did, well, lets just say you wouldnt have to worry about anything ever again" Ripper replied cooly. Aircrest grunted and began to tap his claws on the floor. "Im trying to be normal...but I just dont know how to be normal" He muttered. "Forcing change wont fix anything, Aircrest" Ripper hissed. "You do more harm than good"
"So how do I deal with this crap?" Aircrest growled. "There is no definite answer to that" Ripper responded. "Its only through growth of body and mind could you find life's answers for yourself. I only advise that you have your priorities in check"
"I might not be alive long enough to...'grow'." Aircrest mumbled. "Thats on you" Ripper growled. "I gave you the skills you need. If you die now, then there would have been nothing that could have helped you in this world. Just know that you've grown a lot since you first wandered into this place that day, and for the most part my time spent with you was time well spent. I dont like to think-"
"-That your efforts were for nothing?" The young raptor barked. "Yeah yeah, I know" Ripper chuckled as Aircrest got to his feet and began to walk off. "Thanks" He growled, walking towards light shining through the facillity's door. "I needed this talk"
"Lets hope you dont need another anytime soon" Ripper replied. Just as Aircrest stepped into the outside, the elder barked "Give my best regards to your mate, will you?"

And with that, Aircrest woke up. His head perked up and he looked about his surroundings with frantic movements of his neck. It was all a dream!? But it was so vivid! It was so real, despite the oddities. He breathed heavilly, trying to make sense of what had happened to him.

Then he sneezed, his head flying down and slamming into the dirt. "...F*ck" He hissed lowly, prying his snout from the ground...

As Fatalis overheard what was being said, he slowed his pace dramatically, but remained far ahead enough not to let them feel his presence and attention. he knew it'd be difficult to say, especially after this much time in silence, and the last thing he wanted to do was add to that difficulty...
