"Alone again, I guess" Aircrest growled, giving the spot where his doppleganger disappeared one last look before starting off again. With each step he took, the mist seemed to rise, inching up his feet and then ankles. He raised a scaley eyebrow but didnt think much about it. After what had happened, nothing in this world would be a suprise, which ironically matched his outlook on life while awake. His attention shifted to his surroundings, which seemed to drag away from around him. The shrubs and trees were peeled away from the landscape and the ground suddenly became metalic. Before he knew what had happened, Aircrest was standing in the InGen complex his old mentor had made his home. The elder was infront of him, laying on the floor in complete silence. His tail was wrapped around one side of his body and his chin was rested on crossed wrists. "Well this is a suprise...first time I come here and he's napping" Aircrest growled. "Not in your lifetime, Aircrest" The elder growled, unmoving. "Uh huh" Aircrest growled, walking up to the old raptor's side. "So why're you sitting here?"
"Waiting for you" The elder replied. "Waiting for me?" Aircrest barked, cocking his head. "What happened to playing around in the shadows?"
"Your arrival here was inevitable, given your habit to come to me when you have a problem" Ripper growled, his voice taking a slightly irritated edge. "So I decided to get comfortable. You know, I find it funny that, in my old age, Im kept busy looking after my apprentices. I am getting too old to be playing parent..."
"I tried to handle my own problems, Ripper" Aircrest growled, crouching down and easing onto his side. "We both know how that worked out" He added with a sigh, overlooking the fact Ripper now knew things he had only recently told Selena. "Yes yes, your past haunted you...but thats not the issue here, is it?" Ripper growled, opening an eye and looking to the green raptor. "I dont know the issue here..." Aircrest growled, looking down at the floor. Ripper snorted. "You know how much I hate having my time wasted"
"Yeah" Aircrest growled, glancing to the elder. "But I really dont know-"
"-Think" Ripper insisted. "I know how much you despise doing it, but use that head for once in your life"
"It has...something to do with me" Aircrest growled. Ripper grunted. "Go on"
"I...feel like Im losing my mind" Aircrest continued. "The mind is a fragile thing" Ripper growled. "Our own Hellfire is an example-"
"-Im about to become my own example!" Aircrest hissed. "Explain" Ripper growled simply. "I want to change" Aircrest growled. "Put my past behind and go on with life, but I just keep going back. Wandering off on my own, playing around with my life-"
"Making my lessons go to waste..." Ripper added, his gaze scolding. "Bite me" Aircrest snarled. "Dont tempt me. If I did, well, lets just say you wouldnt have to worry about anything ever again" Ripper replied cooly. Aircrest grunted and began to tap his claws on the floor. "Im trying to be normal...but I just dont know how to be normal" He muttered. "Forcing change wont fix anything, Aircrest" Ripper hissed. "You do more harm than good"
"So how do I deal with this crap?" Aircrest growled. "There is no definite answer to that" Ripper responded. "Its only through growth of body and mind could you find life's answers for yourself. I only advise that you have your priorities in check"
"I might not be alive long enough to...'grow'." Aircrest mumbled. "Thats on you" Ripper growled. "I gave you the skills you need. If you die now, then there would have been nothing that could have helped you in this world. Just know that you've grown a lot since you first wandered into this place that day, and for the most part my time spent with you was time well spent. I dont like to think-"
"-That your efforts were for nothing?" The young raptor barked. "Yeah yeah, I know" Ripper chuckled as Aircrest got to his feet and began to walk off. "Thanks" He growled, walking towards light shining through the facillity's door. "I needed this talk"
"Lets hope you dont need another anytime soon" Ripper replied. Just as Aircrest stepped into the outside, the elder barked "Give my best regards to your mate, will you?"
And with that, Aircrest woke up. His head perked up and he looked about his surroundings with frantic movements of his neck. It was all a dream!? But it was so vivid! It was so real, despite the oddities. He breathed heavilly, trying to make sense of what had happened to him.
Then he sneezed, his head flying down and slamming into the dirt. "...F*ck" He hissed lowly, prying his snout from the ground...
