Aircrest raised his head and sniffled. No movement around him. "Phew" He growled softly to himself. "For a second I thought she'd wake up-"
"She did wake up" Growled Hazel from behind him. Her voice was low as to not wake the others. Aircrest took a breath and replied with a hiss "You...were not the 'she' I was thinking of..." He turned around to look at the dark tan raptor and asked "So why are you awake?"
"Woke up not too long ago, couldnt get back to sleep. Decided to go look at the sky until I got tired again, when your scent came my way." She replied, though she put a little emphasis on the word "scent" Aircrest growled "So...you know?" He tried to stifle another sneeze. "Its pretty obvious" Hazel growled flatly. "Damn it" The green raptor grumbled. "Hey Aircrest, guess what?" Hazel barked, daring to let her voice rise a little. "Wha- oh wait I kno-!" Aircrest growled, unable to finish his sentence before Hazel growled "I told you so" Aircrest sighed. "I knew it..." He growled, his body stiffening up as he tried to silence an oncoming sneeze

With a loud, frustrated sigh, the off-white striped raptor gave a stiff, halfhearted nod without meeting Fatalis' gaze, and began walking back toward the cave, resisting the impulse to kick every rock he passed. "You really are good..." he muttered under his breath. "One day you let Dad die without lifting a claw to help and the next, make your sister hate you. Nice going Rhojis, nice..."

Sylicora raced onward, all thoughts of the danger that was surely afoot completely forgotten. She'd gone off course in her blind sprint to get away from Rhojis and neither knew nor cared where she was going. Part of her couldn't believe her father was gone forever. Her family ties were shattered, and not only because of the loss of a member. She doubted whether she'd ever trust Rhojis again. The mere thought of him only made her temper worse. She let out a loud snarl, venting her anger on a tree trunk as she passed, clawed hand shooting out and sending bark splinters flying...

Renegade opened one eye, glancing carelessly over to the entrance of the cave, his face an emotionless mask...

Pulsar's own eyes, already open, widened further. He too looked toward the others' general direction, then he glanced inquiringly at Howler. "Care to fill me in on what's happening with them?"

"You could have just laid down" Hazel growled, watching her brother move to the edge of the shrubs he came from. "You could have just rested...give yourself time to recover" She continued, Aircrest easing his way down and laying on the ground. "Im resting now" Aircrest replied. "Better late than never?" He asked. "Your already sick" Hazel growled. "You have no choice but to rest" Aircrest grumbled wordlessly. He didnt like the thought of having to slow down, but he knew he had to if he wanted to recover properly. "So, did you find Hellfire?"
"Yeah. Blade, Ripper and Switchblade too. They're all well." Aircrest growled, laying his chin down. "Oh right...Switchblade..." Hazel growled. "Hmm?" Aircrest rumbled. "I picked up on her scent a while ago. I was gonna tell Rose that she was alright but it slipped my mind. Must've been more tired than I thought" The tan female said. "Yeah, I know what that feels like" Aircrest replied thoughtfully. "I went to sleep after I realized I was too tired to joke around"
"Too tired to joke around? Who were you joking with?" Hazel barked.
"Some pack raptor I ran into. She got tired of the conversation and as she left, asked me why I wasnt looking for a place to sleep. I said some smartass thing and then did just that. Then I had a....weird dream. The second one today- er- yesterday. But thats another story" Aircrest explained. Hazel blinked a few times. "I couldnt get back to sleep, so I came back here" Aircrest finished. "I see" Hazel growled. "Its been strange, these few days" Aircrest barked. "I agree" Hazel replied. Aircrest let out another stifled sneeze, his claws digging into the soil. Hazel simply shook her head and mouthed "I told you so"
"Dont patronize me" Aircrest hissed

Fatalis followed after Sylicora at a brisk pace, moving fast enough not to lose her trail, but slow enough to make sure he didn't overshoot any turn she may have made along the way. a claw mark on a tree told him he was still on the right track...

Astus, the faster of the brothers, reached Siri first. Inculta wasn't far behind him, and the three raptors exchanged glances. "Is it heading our way?" Inculta asked his mate quietly, scanning the trees. "I'm not sure," she growled, just as softly. "There are too many raptors out and about for my liking." "You ran into others?" Astus growled, black eyes fixed on the female. "One. A male. He was ill and left without a fight," she replied, still looking around and listening for signs that the raptor was coming this way.

"How bad is it?" Hazel asked. "How bad is what?" Aircrest growled, turning his head to look at his sister and then resting his chin on the ground. "The illness, duh" she growled. "Feels like compies rammed dirt down my nose and blocked it off. No matter how much I sneeze, the dirt wont come out." Aircrest snarled. "Ouch. Supressing those sneezes will just make it worse, though" The tan female replied. "Your telling me. My head feels like its full of rocks, and every time I sneeze, those rocks smash against the inside of my skull." Aircrest growled. "A situation that could've been avoided if you had just listened to me..." Hazel said, trailing off near the end. Aircrest simply snorted, which kicked up a cloud dirt, some of which found its way into the raptor's nose. Aircrest pulled his head back and swung his head down as he let out a loud sneeze, which seemed to leave him dazed afterwards. Hazel snickered. "Good call settling down away from Selena, we wouldnt want to get her sick now would we?" She barked. "Yeah, but I remember Zheja being by these bushes here when I left, and something tells me he wasnt inclined to move" Aircrest growled dryly despite it being a joke.

By the time Rhojis reached the mouth of the cave, his initial frustration had died away. The gray raptor's claws clicked softly as he descended the rock stairway, a distracted, somewhat lost look about him. Barely noticing the other raptors as he reached the bottom, he turned and headed automatically for a corner furthest from the others and lowered himself to the cool stone, laying his head down and staring blankly ahead...

The olive raptor leaped over an old, mossy tree trunk and continued on through the dark forest, starting to get careless, dodging closer to trees and other objects than she would have under normal circumstances. Suddenly an unseen branch caught her foot and she stumbled, letting out a loud yelp of pain and surprise, colliding with a moss-covered tree and managing to cling onto it for support. Breathing hard, she glanced around and hissed in annoyance. It was then that she vaguely noticed what could have been a scent marker, but it didn't make an impression on the distraught raptor. At that moment, nothing mattered. She pushed away from the tree, irritably batting a small dead branch so forcefully out of her way that it snapped and fell to the ground, the raptor starting off again at a fast trot...

The three raptors' heads turned as one in the direction of a stranger's yelp and the snap of a dead branch. "You hear that?" Astus growled. "Sure did. Let's go. Sounds like our angry friend just crossed our border," Siri growled, a little annoyed that their borders seemed insignificant to other animals; first those Allosaurs, then that sick male...who, come to think of it, might not have smelled the markers in the first place. And now this. The black female set off at a run to stop the intruder's progress before they got too far into the territory. Inculta followed on one side of her and Astus the other, the trio fanning out into a wedge-shape. Moving on silent feet, they began to close the distance between themselves and the stranger, only the barely audible swish of undergrowth giving away their rapid approach.

By this point, Fatalis had closed the gap. he was almost above Sylicora, preffering to put a bit of space between them to see where she'd go. he could see the pain in her actions. were he any different in personality, chances are he would have done the same himself years ago, during his own family disasters. the Raptor's eyes narrowed, the border markers reaching him. risky...

Dawntheif had just learned yet another lesson on survival in this jungle. After a short nap to digest the young parasaur the allos had killed, he had began to wonder around the forest. He ignored the scents of strange animals marked around the area, and continued on in. A large female, the animal unfamilliar to him, had almost slashed him with its deadly toeclaw, thankfully the beast had fallen somehow, and Dawntheif had darted away at twice the speed of the predator who almost crushed him.
Only a few moments later, another on of the strange beasts almost trampled him, but this one was black, and it wasnt alone. Thankfully Dawntheif was slightly more manuverable than the large therapods and darted out of the way again, only slowing down to look back at the animals, realizing if he hadnt seen them, he wouldnt have known they had been there. They where so quite, yet so large, and the speed they where moveing at showed a form of urgency.

Astus felt his foot connect with something small. he looked down to see what he had accidentally punted, but Siri urged him on with a murmur, and he ran on. Within moments they had caught sight of the intruder; an olive green female raptor. On a murmured command from Inculta, Astus circled around behind the female, silent as a shadow, cutting off her escape route. Siri followed his path, moving to flank the stranger from a distance; Inculta stood opposite her. They began to close in, eyes glittering in the darkness like a pack of wolves about to make a kill.

Bloodsail smelled something familiar: a raptor. His mind, still a little groggy from the tranquilization, couldn't pin down exactly who it was, but it compelled him to move towards the source of the scent, which seemed to moving straight towards his general location at high speed...

Howler walked up to Rhojis, remarking quietly, "So, uh... didn't go so well, did it?"

Not exactly in the mood to be sent 5 feet through the air agian, Dawntheif decided to avoid these new raptors. Unless, he had learned, they where roaring in succesion at eachother, that meant they either had a kill, or were killing eachother, good news for the small Eoraptor. Curiosity won the argument, and Dawntheif headed back in the direction of the raptors at full speed.

Sylicora slipped between two closely spaced trees, her foot twinging with each step. The pain had caused her to slow further, her path zigzagging carelessly around bushes and trees, the olive raptor unaware of anything happening around her in her distracted state. Cutting too close to a spiny bush and feeling its sharp tendrils pricking into her flank, she let out another vicious spitting growl and spun around, staggering sideways away from it, swiping her claws blindly at its sharp-tipped branches...

Rhojis half-glanced up at Howler and growled in a low voice, "In short... no... Exactly what I expected... except worse..."

Bloodsail's footsteps made the ground visibly tremble as he neared Sylicora, but he cared little. The raptor seemed to be getting nearer by the second, and showed no sign of turning and running. Almost TOO easy, the Spinosaur thought viciously...

"Leave...or you'll live the rest of your pitiful life blind" hissed a threatening voice in the trees, so lowly only Bloodsail could hear, it's location extremely to identify...

Bloodsail paused. Another raptor. Great. The Spinosaur snarled, looking around for the source of the voice...

While the female was taking her emotions out on the brambles, the three pack raptors encircled her. Siri let out a bark, which Inculta answered, followed by a bark from Astus. His bark was almost overlapped by Siri's second, quieter call, which was almost drowned by Inculta's rasping growl. They were trying to confuse the intruder into thinking there were more of them there than there actually were. Trying to get her to think she was in real trouble, which might in turn lead her to leave quietly. But Siri's heart just wasn't in it. It was clear that something had deeply upset this young female, and the mother in her urged her to comfort the distraught youth.

Bloodsail suddenly smelled more raptors. There was obviously a pack here, making the Spinosaur hesitate. After a moment, he snorted and turned away, heading back the way he had come, deciding to find better, less irritating, prey...

Howler nodded understandably. "Well, I'm sure Fatalis will sort it all out. He seems good at that kind of thing. That IS what he's doing right now, right?" he asked.
