Dawntheif was almost impaled by the big raptors duclaw, had he not stop once the raptors spit drop directly infront of him. Dawntheif looked up to see a motuhfull of razor sharp teeth staring him in the face.

"Fatalis and Sylicora. As for the reasons...thats a bit complicated. I was chasing Sylicora here to keep her safe. Consider chasing off an approaching Spinosaur as a little gift of good will" hissed the Raptor as he eyed the trio...

[Pyronychus]

The olive raptor glanced warily around at the three, her problems with Rhojis being temporarily overshadowed by her current situation as the raptor's words sank in. She hesitated for a moment, trying to let her breathing even out a bit before murmuring in a slightly shaky, muffled tone, "S... sorry... I d-didn't know anyone l-lived here..."

Rhojis made a disbelieving noise and hissed blandly, "I think she hates me... I probably deserve it..."

After turning around, Dawntheif noticed the raptor was preoccupied with the youngling. Noticeing the distraction, Dawntheif sprinted away into the forest cawing out loudly for his family.

"Well, I suppose that depends on what you told her," Howler replied. "Whatever happened, I'm sure it was understandable."

[Evil Eye]

Pulsar glanced sidelong at Rhojis upon hearing his words. Some fight had obviously happened, but he could not say anything without knowing more...

Instead of resting back against the wall like he had earlier, Renegade paced around, oblivious to anything around him. He knew in reality, there wasn't a high chance of any of his former pack finding them at this very moment, but once the thought was planted in his head, it refused to budge; the more he tried to think of something else, the harder he found it. The thought gradually escalated in his mind; he found halfway across the cavernous hole, though he hadn't remembered walking there. He turned around once more...

Astus eyed the male with faint interest. "A spinosaur, hm? Last I knew, there weren't any spinosaurs around here..." He exchanged glances with his brother. "But, then again, last I knew...there weren't too many allosaurs around here either...curiouser and curiouser." Inculta had given the Eoraptor a good kick as it fled, finding the species to be pests. Noting Sylicora's tone, and taking into account how visibly shaken the young female was, Siri unconsciously spoke in a voice that offered sympathy and comfort. "Why are you so upset, young one? You look like you just lost someone you cared for."

[The Kingpin]

"The Spinosaur was the cause of the thumps a few minutes ago. you can find traces of it's scent over that way" hissed Fatalis, pointing in the direction of the spot he had engaged the Spinosaur. "Afraid i couldn't chase it out completely. saw it off till it had gone a fair distance, then came back to make sure Sylicora wasn't attacked in my absence" he added, before falling silent, not wanting to speak of Sylicora's moments of pain unless she chose to voluntarily...

Siren could already hear her mate calling for her a mile off. "The fool!" she thought to herself, "He could be leading predators right to our nest!" she immediatly began to hoot back to Dawntheif warning him to be silent or face her wrath. "Now then." she said aloud, "Back to my eggs."

[Pyronychus]

Sylicora glanced up at the female, what was left of the anger that burned so painfully in her chest draining away. She wasn't sure what to say. These raptors were perfect strangers, yet something urged her on... She blinked, trying not to let her eyes cloud again as she murmured, voice still shaking, "I... well... did... My father..."

"I hope she comes around... I can see it isn't anywhere near her fault though," Rhojis mumbled, still without lifting his head. "What she said makes sense now. I should've told her sooner..."

"Yeah, hindsight's a b***h, huh?" Howler replied dryly. "Look, I still don't know what this is all about, but I feel confident that it'll eventually blow over..."

Aircrest didnt reply to what his sister said, his gaze locked on the mutant look alike. The questions that hung about in his mind had come up again. Would his time with Selena always be as accepting as she was now? Would she always be happy living by his side...or would she want something more? Was he even ready for anything beyond what they had already? Hazel cocked her head at the strange silence. It didnt take long for her to assume something personal had come up. "Well...Im going to salvage the rest of the night" She growled. "Good night you two...get well soon Aircrest" She added as she started for her burrow, moving down into the den and resting on the bed of ferns. Aircrest glanced to his sister as she left. There was a haste to her step. Aircrest smiled. "Hazel, a raptor with a mind as sharp as her claws" he thought just before a sneeze sent his head back to the dirt. "Ow..." He muttered as he lifted his snout off the ground. "Damn it! Thats the second time today!" He hissed

Bloodsail sniffed the air as he left the raptor pack's territory. He heard the hooting of the Eoraptor mother, and was busy following the scent, planning to take his anger out on the little dinosaur. The Spino's massive footsteps made the ground tremble as he neared his target...

The moment Dawntheif showed up at the nest, Siren greeted him, and then promptly bite him on the nose. "Hey! what was that for!" chirped the little Eoraptor. "for being a fool as usual, now the chicks are almost ready to hatch, I want you here the help me with them once they hatch, understand?" Hooted Siren

"Ugh, fine." moaned Dawntheif.

"you make it like I have another egg to take care off, you know that Dawntheif?" Hissed Siren.

Bloodsail, nearing the Eoraptor nest, looked around and, making no attempt to hide his presence, let out a bloodcurdling roar, trying to scare the nest's little protectors out of hiding...

Siren's world shook. A massive Spinosaur's roar echoed through her tiny eardrums, almost deafining her.

"You Smallbrain she glared at Dawntheif." she paused to let the message set in. "you've let him right to us!"

Dawntheif looked like he had just been crushed by a Brachiosaur. HE had caused this all. This massive superpredator was now only inches away from the eggs. Accepting the loss already, Dawntheif prepared to run.

Siren was about to do the same. But a small crack of an eggshell and a chirp sent her into a frenzy. She ran directly at the spinosaur, hissing madly at the titan, before biteing the Spinosaur in the leg.

Dawntheif watched in horror from the nest.

Feeling a tiny prick, Bloodsail looked down at the furious Eoraptor nipping at his leg. With an annoyed snort, he lifted his foot and brought it back down as Siren lost her grip, falling underneath the beast's foot as it came down at her...

Siren let out a cry that froze Dawntheif in terror. She had been killed. He had never seen another Eoraptor die, and the relization of what had just happend sent Dawntheif thoughts astray. He wasnt seeing properly he told himself. This massive beast wasnt real. Siren would be fine, he would be fine, and the eggs would be fine.

Bloodsail, satisfied he had squashed the pest, turned to where she had emerged. Using his massive foreclaws, the Spinosaur began tearing away at the surrounding undergrowth, exposing the Eoraptor nest...

Dawntheif almost died of shock the moment his world was torn apart. The bushes he had known all his life where shredded by claws bigger than himself. And the head of a massive Spinosaur poked its way through.
Dawntheif slowly started to turn, prepareing to run. Had not one of the chicks emerged from its shell, the others breaking free still and chirping, alerting Dantheif they had entered the world, he would have run. Dawntheif stood frozen, not knowing what to do. The newborn that just hatched attempted to crawl away from the nest and the giant spinosaur while its siblings chirped from their eggs.
