"Damned predators and their awful racket...Don't they have any consideration for others trying to sleep?!" grumbled Erebus as he moved forward. every time he had tried to sleep, a Rex, Allosaur, Giga, Carcha or some other wretched predator went and roared like they were being eaten alive. for now the trike moved onwards. as the trike moved forward, he pushed aside the bushes keeping him from the plains ahead, spotting a Stegosaur walking along silently. grunting in acknowledgement, the Triceratops looked around in search for a nearby lake, knowing the Stegosaur would be good company at least...

Fatalis glanced at the Raptor, smirking. "Goes with the life of a loner. Constant vigilance. I have to remain alert so long as i'm not in my own home. for the sake of my friends and packmates" he hissed...

Fury walked after Hunter and Lightening, a juvenile Lambeosaur hanging from his jaws. During the confusion of the attack, while Hunter and Lightening took down a straggler from the herd, Fury caught himself a wandering youngster...

Eradicus finished dragging his old kill back to his new home, before eating into it some more, stripping it down to bone within a few minutes. He let out another roar, both for fun and as a territorial roar. Soon, he went down the pathway, the carcharodontosaurus still hungry, his old food not satisfying enough for him, the carchar also going to a nearby river for a drink.

Chopper, followed by his whole pack, including his two chicks, went out for a hunt early in the morning. Wolfe and Snake chirped the whole way, riding on Flamejaw's back, hungry. Brute barked for two members of the pack to follow him, while Chopper had the female juvenile and his mate come with him. The group went out to ambush a herd of protosauratops, Wolfe and Snake staying behind in the tall grass, watching their parents hunt...

Viridis shot a glance at Mwuaji. Was that why he usually took night sentry duty? Because he was a former loner? She hummed thoughtfully. "Makes sense. But, you and Sylicora aren't in any danger here. As my mother loves to say...we only bite our enemies." She ran a quick, searching look past the foliage at the treeline beyond the cave entrance. There were a few reasons Siri and Inculta had picked this cave out of the ones that were nearby. Normally, they saw predators and other raptors coming before the threats saw them. There weren't any other entrances to this cave, making it easy to defend; but on the flip side, also easy to get trapped in, which was why they had come up with their tactic of making the enemy believe there were more of them there than there actually were. And the cave was sturdy, not likely to collapse. It was a good home.

Enria stormed through the jungle on a warpath. She had just lost her home to Eradicus, a massive male Carchodontasaur. Still not giving up, she continued bellowing mateing calls as she passed bye a herd of dryosaur, causing them to scatter from her tremendous noise.

"Oh for....she's STILL at it?!" snorted Erebus irritably as another booming roar reached him. the triceratops tried to continue eating despite the infuriating amount of noise being made by the Rex in the distance...

Crusher snorted at the sound of the roar, before rising from his place in the nest, beginning his dawn patrol...

"I don't mean to insult you" growled Fatalis in response. "It's just a habit...In a life where anything could happen, your best bet at survival is to never let your guard down" he explained...

Aircrest wandered through the jungle, the shadowy veil that haunted his previous dreams broken by beams of light shining down through the tree tops. The mist that hung over the ground had disappeared, replaced by glistening dew on the blades of grass sprouting from the ground. He wasnt alone in this world of his. Hellfire walked along side him and Blade lumbered a few feet behind. "Well, this is better than last time" Aircrest growled with a smile. "Whats better?" Hellfire asked, turning his head to look at him. "The weather. Its a lot better than before, with the fog and gray skies and what not" Aircrest replied. "Of all the things you could talk about, you talk about the weather..." Hellfire rumbled. "At least he isnt making fun of your name" Blade growled from behind, tilting his head to the side to get a look of the two dromeosaurs. Aircrest simply grunted "Not in the smartass mood today, I guess" with a shrug. "Oh? Something wrong?" The Allosaur growled. "Just because I dont feel like joking around, something has to be wrong?" Aircrest asked. "Yes" Hellfire replied simply. "Your a predictable creature, Aircrest. This isnt predictable. This disturbs me" He barked, a reptillian smirk on his face. "This entire thing disturbs me" Aircrest hissed. "Its all so....normal" He pushed through a bush ahead of him, Hellfire doing the same. Blade simply stepped over the line of shrubbery all together. "Its only the morning. Im sure something strange will happen as the day goes on" Blade commented, knowing about the raptors' conversation the other day despite not being there. "Speak for yourself, I saw Dilophosaurs slobbering all over each others' face as they fought earlier. Before long, they both found themselves blind" Hellfire hissed. "We live in a world devoid of logic..." He added, shaking his head. "....I saw a boulder break off a cliff side" Aircrest snorted. "It was the other day, but still..."
"My past sucked..." Blade grumbled. "Welcome to the club" Hellfire hissed. Aircrest was going to say something, when suddenly the jagged rock from his previous dream came crashing down infront of him with the thundering snaps of branches and an Earth rocking tremor.

Then he woke up, laying on his stomach on a mossy log at the jungle's edge. Streams of dawn sunlight shone down onto his dark green body. He heard the sounds of crashing waves in the distance, along with the roars of giants echoing across the island. "...What the hell..." He growled before sniffling. He shifted off the log and got to his feet, arcing his back as he stretched out. His joints cracked down the length of his spine and he yawned. He knew he should be hungry by now, all he had to eat the other day was a Gallimimus, but he wasnt. He just had a chill running across his body. He started to walk back the way he came on the beach. The air was salty and sea birds hung over the waves just beyond shore

"That's true," Mwuaji rumbled. Viridis jumped; she hadn't realized the golden-brown mutant was still awake. His green eyes were studying Fatalis thoughtfully. "No offense taken," Viridis growled when it seemed Mwuaji wasn't going to say anymore. "We don't usually get many loners coming through, so I was just curious."

Viridis cocked her head. "Why'd you give it up for pack life?" she asked curiously. "The freedom to go wherever you want whenever you want, and not knowing where the next day would bring you...versus a predictable schedule of hunting, patrolling, guarding the den when nothing ever really happens. The same old faces...same old territory...same old life day after day." She let out a quiet, almost wistful sigh. "The life of a loner sounds wonderful in comparison."

Hazel poked her head out from her den, looking about the area around her. It seemed that everyone was still asleep. "Thats good" She thought. "They need their rest" She carefully slipped the rest of the way out of her burrow, careful to be as quiet as possible, so as to not disturb the others as she made her way past them, heading towards the coast. Aircrest's scent trail lead down there, and she'd check on his condition before going on a hunt...

Fatalis openly chuckled at the females words, hearing himself saying them in his past. "That's likely the allure of the lifestyle that pulls every loner into it at the start. and yes, it's wonderful to be able to do whatever, and go wherever, you want, whenever you want. that freedom is a wonderful feeling. but it also brings with it danger. a loner goes through the dangers a pack may go through in it's entire lifetime, every week, on average. more if that loner is like i am. the thrill-seeking variety. that kick you get out of taunting then escaping an enraged superpredator thirsting for your blood is unlike anything else you could ever experience" he growled...

At that moment, one of Sylicora's yellow eyes cracked open at the sound of the conversation. The olive raptor felt extremely tired after the difficult night, but had lain awake for what felt like hours before her racing mind had finally run itself into exhaustion and she was able to drift into an uneasy sleep. For a moment, she couldn't remember who the voices belonged to, her head half-rising as she glanced blearily around at the cave's inhabitants until yesterday's memories returned. She let out a soft groan, head dropping limply to the ground again as her eyes closed once more, the raptor wishing she hadn't tried to remember what happened...

Viridis' black eyes glittered with interest. "Taunting bigger predators? Sounds like fun." She was still itching to get back at the allosaurs that had taken their kill.

"It can be. but normally, the average raptor is as good as dead if they try that" hissed Fatalis. "You learn things as a loner. techniques that help you survive. moving through the trees as fast or faster than you do on the ground, learning to pick up every detail your surroundings have to give, learning to read the intentions of those around you, to anticipate their movements before even they know. so many things. some of them even i don't know, and i've been a loner since i was barely a juvenile" he explained...

the Allosaur smiled appreciatively at the compliment. "I watch out for my family...and my friends back then were my family...they were the closest thing to family i had" growled Blade...

Enria sat by her fresh kill, jopeing blood would attract a male Tyrannosaur. A swarm of annoyed compys had swarmed her kill, but she quickly scared them off. Once again looking at the sky, wishing she still had her home, she lifted her head, and called out.

As Crusher neared the border, he picked up the scent of blood. his eyes narrowed. he headed for the borderline to find out where exactly the scent was coming from. the roar of a female Tyrannosaur caught his ears. grunting, he continued to investigate...

Gothmog hears the bellows of the Female rex. He bellows in return, basically telling her to shut up......

Old One Eye sleeps through all the noise, her age coupled with poor hearing keeping her form being awakened.....

"Sounds better than I'd imagined," Viridis growled, turning to give the undergrowth another quick scan before looking back at Fatalis. "But Siri..." she grimaced, not wanting to sound like she was talking badly about her mother. "...she's very...protective. I'm the only one of my siblings to make it out of the nest...and her first brood never even made it out of their shells." She paused before going on more quietly. "I know she just wants me to be safe, but I'm an adult now. I want to live my own life."

Fatalis nodded. "Well, i can understand her worry for you. the Life of a loner is a dangerous one. the physical dangers are only part of it. the worst part is the crushing loneliness of it. it can be maddening at times. that's the reason i'm starting a pack" hissed the Raptor. thinking a bit, he glanced at the black Raptor, before eying Viridis again. "Though, my pack isn't quite your average one. I'm planning to maintain the lifestyle i used to have. Basically, the lifestyle loners have, but as a group. Maybe you could join us" he explained...
