Shezz nods, before flipping the page over for the two to see one showing some facts of the unicorn, particularly of the horn it had...

Kubba studied the unicorn for a few moments before speaking. "Similar to this it was, but seemed smaller it did......"

"Maybe one you encountered was youngling?" Shezz replied while staring closely at the details of the horn on the picture, seeing that it was similar to the one Kubba had showed him the day before...

"Make sense it would," Kubba says. "Heavy it was, despite relatively small size......"

"If horses weigh much, unicorn must to," Shezz said thoughtfully, considering most believed that the horned animal was closely related to a horse...

"Agree I do very much so." Kubba begins flipping through the book some more before he coems upon a picture of a large winged serpent-like beast with four legs, spines along its back, a long, narrow head. "This.... this is what believe it is I do?!"

Shezz simply nods while reading the facts of the beast along with it's name, but doesn't say much as he decides to let Kubba learn more about it himself...

Kubba the beast's name before he sets the book down. "Dragon.... dragon?...... dragon......" He then resumes reading. " 'Considered by many to be the single most powerful and varied creature in Asther, dragons come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes, each variety having different pwoers and weaknesses from the other. Many possess human level intelligence. Many are ferocious beasts that lust only for blood, but some have been noted for their intelligence.' Unpleasant to meet it does...."

Alerted by splashing in the river, Uriel lifted his head, spikes pointed up. Just below the surface was a very long, thin creature that swam via a combination of body movements and small flipper-like appendages along its body. The sea serpent neared the shore, bringing its fanged head out of the water, not much taller then Uriel. Tiny, compared to other aquatic serpents. Nonetheless, Uriel snarled threateningly, uncomfortable by the creature's presence. The creature pulled back slightly, sniffing the air noisily in the dragon's direction. Uriel's growl increased in volume, teeth barred, though the serpent didn't seem to notice...

He waited beyond the bushes, eyes panning over the scene through tangled branches and leaves, body tense and ready to snap into action. Moments went by, members of the herd would raise their head high and cock them about, sensing something amiss in the surroundings. Desrium would lower himself even closer to the ground and let out slow breaths when one glanced in his general direction, contemplating springing out of the underbrush and sending his blade into its body. It would then look away, and Desrium would then focus on his original target: A young one. He moved about the herd, careful not to betray his movement as he worked his way to an undefended juvinile. It was busy clawing at a tree, its talons digging into and scraping off the bark with muscles rippling in its shoulders. The armored figure shot out of the underbrush with an arm over his shoulder, wrenching his jagged edged blade from its sheathe with a metalic scrape. The young creature jerked its head to the side, seeing only a blur swinging towards its neck. The sword made contact, slicing through flesh and muscle with ease, stopping only when it was embedded in a vertebrae. A quick tug pulled the blade free, blood running down the grooves. It happened so fast that the juvinile didnt even make a noise, and it died quickly, not knowing what dealt the fatal blow. The others charged off in a panic, loud screeches mixed with the loud rustling of leaves sounding off in their wake. Desrium moved close to the dead creature, holding his sword in one hand. He slid his free arm under it, wrenching its claws out of the tree with a strong pull and then slinging it over his shoulder. The animal was no bigger than a large dog, which would be enough to appease his appetite. With that, he started to head back to the stream to prepare his meal.

'And you,' Arsenic replied with a nod. He raised an impressed eyebrow at the display of magic. 'It's good to be confident in yourself, especially when you know you can back that confidence up. Perhaps that has something to do with your developing skills as well.' Aviva quickly swallowed what was left of the elf's fish, licking her lips and letting out a content hum.

"Perhaps so....Though admittedly, there are far more noble purposes for such skills than getting a drink without moving a muscle" he growled with a chuckle. it was highly inefficient. "But i think my confidence may have more to do with defiance than belief in my abilities.....I was just so.....so infuriated...when my father cast me out as he did...It's the drive to prove him wrong that's made me as i am" rumbled Septimus. "But eh....irritating complaints from a random traveller. I shouldn't burden you with my story. Tell me about you" he added with a smile...

'Alright.' Arsenic leaned back against Aviva, the female dragon curling her tail around him as he cocked his head and exchanged a glance with her. 'What do you want to know?'

"Anything you feel you could tell me" responded Septimus with a smirk as he looked between the elf and dragon...

Arsenic chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment as he thought. Finally, he said, 'When I was ten years old, I found out my mother was due to have another child. A boy.' Aviva closed her eyes for a moment in a brief show of deep grief. She'd heard this story before. 'But that little brother never made it into the world. She was seven months pregnant when a trio of robbers broke into our home and demanded we hand over everything we had. My mother refused. And the leader of the three, the biggest brute I'd ever seen, struck her across the face. Another, probably feeling more confident at this example of leadership, pushed her into a table corner. Hard.' His jaw clenched at the memory of his mother's screams, the robbers' sudden panic when they realized she was bleeding...

The dragon cringed at the story, lowering his head in respect for the elf, and his loss. "My condolences, friend" he growled...

Arsenic nodded in return, relaxing slowly. 'Thank you...' he murmured, pushing his emotions to the back of his mind. 'She lost the child...and that's when I decided I wanted to become an assassin. To deal with the kind of scum that would cause a woman to lose her child.' He ran a finger over the wood of his bow.

Desrium arrived at the stream and settled down a few yards away from the water, his meal draped over his right shoulder and some wood he gathered on the way back tucked underneath his left arm in a bundle. His sword was sheathed, and he intended to clean it before he started working on the creature he named "Bird-horse". Ironically, he had never seen a horse before. No, that wasnt right. Maybe he had never seen a horse before. However, he had seen a creature who acted like a horse...but was a bulky and robust as a rhino. Again, he had never seen a rhino. Maybe he hadn't, that is.

Desrium knealt down, sticking two burly dark brown branches into the ground a few feet apart from each other. They were fallen branches with notches where the limb diverged, forming a prong of sorts. He chose them because of the resemblance to the dragon's barbecue spit, and once he had them firmly planted in the ground, they were uncannilly similar, though crude looking. Even so, he was happy with the simple construct. He took the last branch he gathered, skinnier than the other two and somewhat curved due to how it grew, and slipped it between the notches by where it was straightest. Because of the curve, he would be able to turn it and make sure that the meat would be cooked thoroughly. Thinking about the taste of a smokey slab threatened to bring back his beastial nature. Reverting his attention to setting up the spit, Desrium twisted about, grabbing a shrub with dry leaves and yanking it from the ground with a loud rustle, setting it down inbetween the two branches and pressing down on it, snapping its small branches and flattening its leaves into a tight bundle of tinder. With the spit taken care of, that left preparing the meat and starting the fire. Desrium stood up and made his way down to the edge of the stream to begin his work...

"An assassin" repeated Septimus in thought. "From what i remember, Assassins by nature tend to work for such people. how can you be sure the jobs you're given are not of such malevolent nature?"...
