Those enemy that tried to get near the trebuchets were cut down by the soldiers guarding them, while the trebuchets themselves were reloaded and fired into the advancing enemy horde, sending them flying in all directions. Those archers fast enough to respond to the advancing horde pulled out their daggers and began to fight off those Ulfsarks that were attacking them. Unfortunately, this was a small minority of the attacked archers, for the rest were too slow to pull uot their daggers in time... The soldiers in the main large army began to concentrate their efforts on trying to push the horde back out of the city . If they could do that, then the trebuchets could decimate them with little-no-none friendly fire...

As this was happening, the town pope, not wanting to be killed by these demonic foes, began to hurry to the local stable, to get a horse that he could use to get out of th ecity... If only he could warn Emperor Trajan...

The assassin begins to draw his bow back, but the sentries of the palace begin to head up towards the roof as well to enter the watch towers. Unfortunately, the assassin is unaware of this. Just as he prepares to draw his bow back, he hears, "Hey! What in the name of Greshlynk are you doing up here?!" The startled assassin misfires his bow, hitting one of the guards in the jugular instead, killnig him. Alerted of the danger, the remaining guard puts his shield up and escorts the king back towards the castle. Seeing he has no escape, the assassin gives up without a fight and the guards take him towards the dungeon.....

Draco hears the commotion of the guards coming down from the roof, before he thinks to himself, "Hmph....... worthless assassin......... I knew it wasn't going to work....

Those efforts of the town Pope would fortunetly go unnoticed, however his town was doomed for the main force was slowly thinning. The Ulfsarks were using the reach and power of their large double-bit, two handed axes to slash and smash the armor of the heavier soldiers whose swords had a rather inferior reach compared to the spear like length of the axes. Also the trebuchets came under deadly fire from the Ballistas as they rained vile, flaming jars of death on them, most catching fire and burning to ashes others crews were sprayed with vile black liquid and fire causing them to scatter and run from their machines. So while they tried their best the soldiers were outnumbered, outgunned (figuritivly), and running out of bodies to throw. At this point all of Lokar's forces were moving in a slow march for the city to pillage the town and preform many other vile acts that a victor usually partakes of.

Uriel turned at the screech, looking around wildly for the source of the sound, momentarily losing interest in the sea serpent. Scenting the air, the dragon finally detected the other scents in the area: Two dragons and...and elf. Remembering his past experience, Uriel hissed deeply, assuming without hesitation that the vile creatures had captured more of his kind. Completely forgetting about the creature, who had by now pulled itself onto the shore, slithering across the ground like a snake, Uriel charged off toward the group at full speed. Tilting its head slightly, the serpent followed after him, slithering across the ground with surprising speed...

The three brothers all fire their arrows at the beast, the arrows peircing the troll's thick hide. The troll snarls before it begins charging towards Bubba. He begins to fall back, his other brothers firing onto the trolls to distract it as he attempts to climb a tree near Lubba's hiding spot...........

"Indeed...perhaps more so than we'd like to believe" rumbled Septimus, eyes narrowing, suddenly alert, wary of another threat being in the surroundings...

Aviva, startled into alertness by the sudden appearance of more dragons, let out a low, rasping growl. She touched Arsenic's mind; he was wary too, taking his bow from his shoulder and plucking at the string with his fingers. 'I don't like this,' she said to him. 'We seem to have landed ourselves right in the middle of a popular area...' He nodded silently, eyes flicking from the river to the other bank as quickly as they changed colors.

Lubba, being rather cowardly, begins to run from his locatio, right past bubba. "You idiot! Now it's gonn' chase ya!" As if on cue, the forest troll begins to chase after lubba. Shubba adopts a quadruped stance and gives chase to the monstrous creature, Bubba following as closely behind as he can. Unbeknownst to them, they were heading towards the riverbank.......

Uriel slid to a stop just before leaving the undergrowth, peeking through to look at the group. Two dragons, clearly irritated, and...one elf, with its weapon drawn. How could one elf subdue two dragons? Uriel spotted another figure, with a scent he had not encountered before...this individual must be the key. Suddenly, the dragon was snapped out of his focus by a thud against his back leg, looking around to see the serpent slumped against him, clearly not seeing him until it was too late. Giving the creature a quick hiss, Uriel stalked along the treeline, hoping to find the best spot to attack...

Septimus grunted, glancing towards a certain spot in the treeline. eying the spot warily for a moment, he returned his attention to those around him, dismissing the hiss he picked up as a figment of his imagination. too much caution was occasionally a bad thing, as he had learned...

Those few trebuchets that remained managed to be reloaded and fired , though this time at the ballistas. The army, knowing they were fighting a loosing battle, continued to fight anyway. Hopefully, they would be able to down the enemy numbers just enough for Trajan's forces to overtake them... if word reached him of the town's fall. The local pope reached the stall, his eyes spotting a nice horse for him to use. He mounted it, then cut the rope tying the animal to the railing in the stall. Almost immediately, the horse took off, galloping like a madman out of the town...

'Something's here,' Arsenic murmured, having extended his consciousness to pick up all living things in their immediate area. 'Maybe more than one of them.' He could sense...something...it was moving. And judging what it was was made more difficult by the fact that he didn't want to touch its mind directly, even for a second. If it was hostile, he wanted to get it stunned with a mental attack; give it a shock it wouldn't soon forget.

The once dark red slabs of meat were now varying shades of brown, with the edges of the cuts being darker than the rest of the steaks due to being closest to the fire. The fumes of the smoke and the crackling sounds of the fire were enough to take Desrium's thought away from his troubles, leaving him entranced. The slow turning of the spit became an unconcious action as Desrium waited for the meat to cook through, though his stomach didnt care much for patience and rumbled incessantly. But the wait was over now, and Desrium lifted the thin branch off of the other two, small trails of white smoke wafting off of the slabs. He waited a short while for the meat to cool a little before biting into one of the slabs, tearing it off of the branch with a thrash of the head and working it down with a few snaps of his jaw, the metalic fangs only amplifying the primal behavior. He repeated the process with the four other cooked cutlets and in just minutes he had finished eating, content now that his hunger had disappeared. Despite how it might have looked, Desrium actually savored the taste and texture of his meal. The meat had a smokey flavor, that was expected, but it had a tough chewiness to it, which Desrium found strange as he found himself tearing it apart as he did, but didnt think much of it. He reasoned that strange things were to be expected by now. Unless there were means to come up with explanations, there was no point in thinking too hard about them. Instead, he got up, got another small branch from the wood bundle with a curve to it like the last and slid the left over cutlets onto it. He then put it over the fire, breaking off a peice of a bush after to keep the flame going. After this, he'd get to work making a pouch from the pelt to carry them, so he didnt waste too much from one meal and he didnt have to hunt all the time to get food.

Lubba sprints as quickly as his legs can carry him. The monstrous troll chased him hungrily, its hideous visage baring down on him as the beast bared its yellowed fangs. Shubba manages to catch up with the troll and jumps onto its back, but the beast does not stop chasing Lubba........

Draco tells the captain in the barracks, "I've got some plans for my father. If he.... disappears, you are to say nothing, or do anything. Got it? If you do, I'll have the full power of the royal guard baring down on you." The captain replies, "What exactly do you have in store for him?" "He will be gone.... and won't be coming back." Draco turns to leave, but stops and says, "And don't worry- the guards already know of my plan for the most part." He continues out and heads back towards the castle to take care of the assassin he hired, leaving the captain baffled....

As Uriel positioned himself nearest to his intended target, he heard the shuffling of plants behind him, once again looking down to find the sea serpent staring back at him. About to swat the bothersome creature away, the dragon stopped, realizing its potential in the situation. Pushing it toward the treeline, Uriel gestured with a nod toward the elf. The sea serpent looked toward the elf, then back at Uriel, who made a biting gesture with his mouth. The young creature seemed to understand, slithering out into the open, heading right for the group, while Uriel remained hidden, a smirk on his reptilian maw...

A quick tug pulled a twisted peice of fur through the holes in the pelt patch. The twisted strand was waved around the edges, so that it formed a bowl like shape when hanging. Another twisted strand was run through two extra holes Desrium had put in the sides of the pouch, this one much longer than the other. This strand would be the strap to sling the pouch across his shoulders. Just like that, he had something to store his loose items, something he made by hand. Again, he felt no accomplishment. Things were too easy and he had too much questions about his place in the world. Despite being in the untamed wilderness, he couldnt help but feel as if this wasnt reality, that this is all just a dream. Oh how he wished that he would just wake up already, and be in the world he was supposed to be in. The world where he knew who he was- what he was- and life was normal. No. That couldnt be right. He had been on his own for two days now, and everything was real. The people who shunned him out of fear, the dragon, the city, it was all real. This was his reality. A reality seemingly seperate from all else in existence, but he knew that too wasnt true. He looked up to the leafy branches that stretched out over head. He looked at the colorful birds that would land on the limbs, chirp and look around with their jerky head movements and then fly off again. The sounds and sights... they were all there, part of the realm, as was he. "I live, just as everything else here does" Desrium thought aloud, taking a moment to turn his makeshift barbeque spit. "But I feel so lost in life...no direction...no purpose" He let his gaze drop down to the flames. The thoughts were coming back, and no matter how hard he tried to shift his attention to something else, Desrium would find himself coming back to the conundrum of his existence...

a faint rustle caught Septimus' attention, the Dragon glancing towards the source, a serpent moving in the grass. with a snarl he took a breath, whitish flames seeming to spill through his bared fangs for a moment as he let loose a deep, rumbling snarl, the Dragon maneuvering himself between the creature and the others...

Lubba manages to get a good distance ahead from the forest troll, only to run into an area that goes along a river. "Oh no...." Lubba turns around, the troll slowly lumbering towards him. Shubba, being on the troll's back, quickly scrambles upwards and stabs it multiple times in the neck. The beast bellows in rage before grabbing Shubba and flinging him into Lubba, knocking the two brothers down. Bubba quickly catches up and fires an arrow at the beast's back before joining up with his brothers to fight the monstrous beast off. The brothers ready their weapons, while the trol stands on its hind legs, beats its chest, and lets out the most horrible screech ever heard by the brothers......

Kubba turns to Shezz after a long time of silence. "Keep this book may I? More useful to me than to you, since hunting more often I do than you."

Arsenic quickly drew an arrow from his quiver and nocked it, ready to draw back and fire if he needed to. Aviva's growl was suddenly much louder as she fixed the serpent with a green glare. Her upper lip curled back, exposing her fangs.
