Uriel closed the distance between him and the dragons in a split second, unleashing the projectile at very close range, shooting away at the last moment to avoid a total collision. The fireball crashed into the one creature's chest, knocking it backward, while Uriel began climbing higher into the sky...

The beast hit was stunned and knocked backwards by the blast, but the other lunged forward as Uriel drew nearer, even before the fireball had hit its partner. Even as Uriel flew upwards, the second creature lashed out with its muscled forelegs, clamping its talons down around Uriel's tail and holding him fast, before pulling downward, letting go, and smashing a scaly claw into the smaller dragon's backside, sending him tumbling away...

Extending his wings to stop his descent, Uriel shook his head, hovering some distance from the two, once again roaring mockingly at the creatures...

The beast that had been hit by the fireball scratched at its chest in irritation. Its scales were scorched and brunt, but it would live. The cloaked figure riding the other monster hissed angrily at Uriel: "Leave, dragon, and consider yoursssself fortunate we have more urgent mattersssss to attend too..."

Uriel snorted at the comment, amused by its arrogance, especially considering the circumstances of the fight. Hovering in place, the dragon did not move...

Septimus grunted in acknowledgement, before yawning, fangs glinting lightly amidst the dark blue flesh, his whitish cyan tongue tip visible for a moment before the dragon's mouth once again closed. "I wonder how our black, speedy friend is doing up there" he rumbled thoughtfully as he looked upwards...

The two creatures, likewise, did not move either. They almost seemed to be waiting for something, as they watched Uriel intently. The figure spoke once more: "I will give you one final warning, dragon: leave now, and we will not pursue you any more. Continue to resssissst, and we will make ssssure you are obliterated."

"I am certain he will be fine, if he's smart," Tetto'eko replied, looking up in the sky. "Speed versus brute strength and all that."

'At any rate, at least there aren't any body parts raining from the sky yet,' Arsenic observed dryly.

Uriel narrowed his eyes at the creatures...considering they already tried a sneak attack with the arrival of the second, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for another of their kind to arrive. Keeping his senses alert, ready for anything, Uriel remained defiant, not about to back down...

"Well, considering i've seen him obliterate half a house the last time i saw him fight, i wouldn't shrug off the possibility that it'll be his opponents that rain down from the sky in little bloody...or scorched chunks" growled Septimus with a chuckle...

The figure let out a hissing chortle. "You have no idea what you're getting yourssself into, do you?" The figure mounted on the other creature, which had recovered from the blow for the most part by this point, spoke as well. This one was somewhat shorter than its companion, and its voice seemed to be more feminine... if you could call the rattling hiss feminine. "Why do we wasssste our time?" she snarled. "We have far more important matterssss to take care of, and I will not just sssssit here like a coward and let him kill thisss whelp himself! It isssss above him, anyway." "I believe Zazikel will make that decision, and I believe it issss time he sssshould reveal hisss true power!" The shorter figure seemed to slouch a bit, but said nothing, as the two riders and their draconic mounts continued keeping their eyes on Uriel...

"With all this talk of raining body parts, I am starting to think we should take cover!" Tetto'eko replied with a chuckle. "I would rather not have to wash all that blood off if I can help it."

'It takes forever to get blood out of clothes, and it takes Aviva ages to stop complaining when it gets on her scales,' Arsenic said with a grin. 'Makes me wish i brought a tarp or something.' Aviva let out a snort and growled to Septimus, "Powerful or not, tell your friend that if he threatens Arsenic again, he will have more than a hideful of arrows to deal with." Her green eyes glittered.

Uriel let out another snort, sticking his tongue out at the two. Contrary to the easy-going actions, he remained on-edge...

The shorter figure seemed to bristle. "We ssshould kill him now!" she hissed. As the taller figure was about to speak when a much deeper voice echoed from the clouds behind Uriel, accompanying the powerful wooshing noise of flapping wings. "This? This is the little rascal that has frustrated you? Perhaps you should seek easier prey." The voice chuckled, and the horribly deformed head of a dragon emerged slowly from the cloud cover, massive, toothlike spikes jutting from its upper lip and mimicking fangs. The beast seemed to scrutinize Uriel with white, pupilless eyes that seemed too small for the dragon, and it growled, "So, my little scaly friend, what do they call you?"

Uriel narrowed his eyes at the new arrival, knowing there was some reason the others were hesitant to attack...and this was apparently why. He gave a short snort in response to its question...to be honest, he didn't know what his name was. There were things other beings called him, but he never had a name for himself...

"Not very talkative, are you?" the dragon muttered. "Well then, down to business, as the humans say. I assume my compatriots here have given you fair warning? One snort for yes, two for no," he added, in a humorless tone.

Uriel gave a blank stare, clearly not appreciating the joke. He nodded in response, staying alert, making sure he wasn't taken off-guard by any surprise attacks while he was conversing with the newcomer...

The dragon's head moved a few feet closer to Uriel, and the beast's eyes suddenly took on a malevolent glint. "Then you would do well to heed it, little one. You see, I have very important things to take care of, and I do not take kindly to being disturbed." He nodded at the draconic beasts still hovering behind Uriel. "My... friends here need sustenance at times, and a dragon such as yourself makes an excellent meal for the Lethrblaka. I can not blame them for primal urges such as hunger, but if they cannot catch a simple meal, I suppose I can always help, and I don't think you would much enjoy that." What looked like purple flames leaked from the dragon's jaws as he spoke. "Fortunately, I am feeling ever so slightly merciful today. Go on, fly away and... go chase butterflies, or whatever you younglings do..." He snorted, almost like a scoff. "Enjoy your life while you can. Throwing it away in such a... horrible manner would be most unsound."

Uriel stared at the dragon a moment, then looked upward, clearly thinking. After a few moments of what appeared to be intense thought, the dragon looked back at his larger adversary, and promptly spit a small ember into its face.

Revion was tired of whinnying and was clearly seeing that it was not working, so he stopped. "I told you it was a ridiculous idea. We're probably more vulnerable to predators now too." He glared at Serenity, who only snorted and stomped her hoof in response. "Let us rest for now. We can search again for water tomorrow."

Serenity shook her head stubbornly. "We simply can not stop, Revion!" She pulled at his mane a little too harshly, and said, "We are not resting one minute. We will travel without any rest, if we have to."

"We need that rest, Serenity. You are not thinking clearly." Revion was growing impatient with the white filly, once again. "You are foolish to press on, do you know that? I am not going to shout for help anymore."

Serenity pinned her ears against her skull and glared furiously at the black stallion. "Alright, fine..don't help! I will look myself, if I have to!" She sprinted off away from Revion, clearly angered.

"Oi, wait up," Revion whinnied, worried that she might get herself into some kind of danger. He forced himself to gallop after her.
