"I'm sorry for your loss. Please pass my condolences to their loved ones. You will be immortalised in my memory as self-destructive gourmands" rumbled Arashi with a grunt, before ripping one of the legs off the remnants of the corpse, gulping it down...

Kuran watched silently from a tree. He had gathered that the dragon had killed the furry pack animals leader, and that the horse-like animal, was a unicorn. They appeared to be argueing over the death of the lead pack animal, the rest, he could not make out. He crawled down from the tree and moved in closer.

The unicorn could not bear to watch the dragon eat from the corpse. He was, however, deep in thought. Were their others out there, other than his herd? There must be, somewhere. There could not possibly be just that population of unicorns living in one valley. He could not help but chuckle at the dragon's grunt.

"Many of the Lizardmen are not intelligent enough to understand such concepts," Tetto'eko explained. "The Saurus only understand the art of warfare, nothing more. The Kroxigor understand manual labor and, to a limited degree, warfare, but nothing else. The Skinks are far more intelligent, but we were born to serve the Slann and the Old Ones. We will gladly suffer death for such a purpose."

The largest of the three soon snarled to the rest, "let's head back home and hope the rest of the pack don't starve because of this." the others nodded and the three walked off, leaving the corpses of the rest behind, along with those mortally injured...

"Better that than dying here" muttered Arashi before digging into the last part of the leader's corpse, gulping it down, a glowing bluish white tongue flicking over his fangs and lips...

"I see. Now....what say we find out what's keeping this place intact despite the decay of everything else?" growled Septimus as he looked at the skink...

The lead of the group just growled in response, before transforming into it's more horrifying state and walking on two legs moments later rather than four. The other two remained in their wolf-like forms, snapping at each other for failing...

Revion shook his head as the creatures left and rolled his eyes. "Good riddance," he muttered under his breath and took a look at his leg. He was slightly disturbed by the dragon, but so far, he was relieved that it did no harm to him, yet. "Must you eat like that? It is somewhat disgusting to hear, no offense of course," he finally said to the dragon. "Anyway...I'll have to thank you for saving me."

The dragon barely resisted bursting out into laughter once the Huergah were out of earshot, giving himself a few moments to settle down, before glancing at the Unicorn. "Unlike grass, flesh and bone doesn't exactly rustle when you eat it" he growled. "As for saving you, I needn't be thanked in words. What you can give me, is knowledge. What are the arcane powers of unicorns? I know of the legend of your horns having healing powers, but nothing else. Is there anything else?" rumbled the Dragon...

The drake from earlier overhears the conversation. A unicorn? Here? In this very forest? The blood drake grunted and continued eating his prey. Perhaps this knowledge could be of use to him in the future......

"Well, that isn't necessary," Tetto'eko hissed. "The Temple-Cities are magically shielded. The elements do not effect them unless they are forcibly dismantled, as was the case with Chaquas here. The structures that still stand, however, are still surrounded by this magical aura, and are still immune to nature's wrath."

Revion tilted his head. "Arcane powers? Not that I know of so far...the elders only told me the healing properties of our horns, unless they failed to mention some unknown power." He chuckled a bit to himself. "What is it of interest to you, dragon?" He was slightly curious of the dragon's intentions. "Did you just want simply knowledge, or something more, perhaps?"

"Knowledge is power, young one. Let no one fool you otherwise. A single wise Dragon is equal to an army of uneducated men" rumbled Arashi as he straightened, flexing his wings...

The drake, now curious, decides to show himself and enter this conversation. "Knowledge is power, you say? I have known many who spoke in such a manner..... and they all died. Tell me, dragon- in what place does knowledge rule, if not here in the wild?"

The unfortunete wildman the pretender had grabbed was fearful for his life and wished to answer however, it soon became evident he couldn't seeing as how when he opened his mouth he revealed that his toungh had been removed by those that banished him. The Wildman next to him however knew germainian and spoke, "The true men you seek left not long ago making speed back to the "Gates of Midgard" but you will have to pray to your god for aid for if they make it inside, you will never survive inside the treacherous land, if the animals don't crew you to your marrow bones then the freezing wind itself will rip the flesh from the bone not soon after your very lungs have been filled with ice." He said this with contempt and secertly drawing a hidden bone dagger in case he were to face death he would take a soldier with him. The wildman was right as they would need a miracle to catch up to them by the time they would arrive to the gate Lokar and his wagon train would already be halfway through the crags of the twisting, dangerous pass. Also waiting inside the church was the pagen figurine standing there smiling and waiting.

"Hm, I never met a dragon before," Revion nickered. "I must say, you are an impressive beast. You must be very intelligent." He took note of the dragon's massive size and the strange inscriptions on his body. "How did you get those markings on your body? Were you born with such things?" He suddenly turned his head at the sound of another creature; a drake. He listened to the drake's retort and snorted. "Knowledge is power, if used in the right way, I am assuming."

"No creature I know is born with such complex inscriptions on their skin. Some of these were drawn onto my skin when I was young. Others grew in gradually as I became more powerful, to further bolster my abilities and to mark my position in my clan" explained Arashi as he looked down at the unicorn. glancing sideways at the newcomer he smirked. this was getting interesting. "In the wild, it can show you where best to find food, how best to hunt, what places are safe to sleep, how possible threats behave, what water may have dangers in it. many examples. In the civilised world it can teach you to predict how others will behave, and how best to use a situation" rumbled the dragon, his pupil-less eyes locking on the newcomer. "A word of wisdom to those without: It is unwise to approach a creature that has just annihilated several dangerous threats....especially when there is a chance it may turn on you as well" he added...

The blood drake chuckled. "Well, my fellow draconian, brawn rules more here than brains. As you saw with your little encounter with the wolf monsters, we creatures of the woods are not particularly well versed in the magical arts. Which leads to my next question: where did you learn such tehcniques?"

Revion was interested to learn where the dragon learned such magic as well, and if anyone could simply learn it. He listened to the conversation going on between both the dragons, and decided it was better off to nibble on some grass. After all, it was better than nothing, and it would probably help with his strength.

"I was born with them. Many of my kind are. My powers have only become more powerful with age" responded the dragon. "And i object. If i were to take those werebeasts as an example, an intelligent leader could herd a family group into an ambush, rather than attacking them one at a time like the one i killed did. Were he more intelligent, the unicorn and his friend would both be dead, and the werebeasts would leave with ample food for their brethren" he added, intense glowing whitish blue eyes staring directly at the Drake...
