'Sometimes, yes,' Arsneic said with a grin. 'But more often I was watching the assassins train, and running to keep up with them - or running away, laughing, when they caught me.' Vix cracked a smile at that. It flickered and died though, when she remembered the reason why Arsenic had been so interested in the assassins as a child.

Cornelious was surprised but stood his ground staring hard at the idol whose eyes and lips were now glowing with the same strange irridesent shifting colored glow. Soon the idol spoke again "My name is Odin, Grand elder of the Northmen, my task is to read the signs of the land and all it's meanings in all of life." Cornelious was next to speak, "Odin, I have heard that name before, you are also a strong believer in the supposed religion of the raider. You are the reason why the Northmen would rather enslave people merely to be pagen sacrifices!" Cornelious motioned for everyone to get back expecting more to happen. But nothing happened beyond a few seconds of silence then sudddenly laughter. "AAHAHAHAHAHAHA (inhale) HAHAHAHAHA... you nearly scared my remaining eye out of its socket with your sudden outburst. Aahahaha... but I notice you are dressed in the garb of a wanderer, I am surprised such a lowly man like yourself can stand amoungest such "Noble" figures. Were you the one that delivered my secret vessil beyond our lands? That is the only way I can imagine you finding your way here." Rambled Odin still chuckling a mad weezing laugh. "I came from these lands, forced to leave my post by corrupt figures that would see me dead," retorted Cornelious with frustration. "Aaahhhh, those with their hearts consumed by desire are always those that are punished most severely either here or in the next life," said Odin. "Now tell me, am I in the presense of a Chieftan, I would like to meet him as my idol has poor eyesight for distance."

Andruil chuckled at the story. "Oh, the bliss of childhood. the poor groundskeepers back in my homeland were nearly driven insane by me in my time there...food disappearing, random clothes appearing in somebody else's house. I even stole a nobleman's undergarments once and hung it on the gates of a church once" he said, chuckling...

'That's all?' Arsenic asked, grinning. 'I once stole a woman's unmentionables and ran around the village for a few hours, screaming and being chased by said very pissed off assassin.' Vix's palm met her forehead with an audible smack.

"Try pinning said unmentionables to a horse. make sure said unmentionables are particularly special and valuable. the woman would then proceed to charge after the horse trying to get her unmentionables back before everyone sees them. then set off a rumour about it. and let the community snowball it into something a lot bigger" suggested Andruil with a sly smirk, having tried it himself...

'More fun to wave them about on a branch while staying just out of her reach,' Arsenic replied with a laugh. Vix reached out and gave the back of his head a smack. "If either of you try that with me, I'll teach you firsthand how a knife to the things you hold most precious feels," she said, smirking, leaving it to them to figure out if she was bluffing or not. Arsenic cringed, vivid green eyes widening in a falsely hurt expression. 'My dear, would I do that to you?' he asked, giving her his most innocent smile. Vix arched a brow at him and started running her fingers through her hair to get the knots out of it, humming pleasantly to herself.

Trajan stepped forward, to where the idol could see him clearly. "If you want to meet the person in charge here, then that would be me, Trajan, Emperor of Germania." Trajan said, before continuing, "what is it that you would like, Odin?"

"You insult me with your implications, Vix. What kind of man do you take me for?" said Andruil as he looked over his shoulder at Vix, a hurt expression on his face...

"I take you for exactly that; a man," Vix retorted, a good-natured gleam in her eye. Arsenic chuckled quietly. 'Staying out of this one.'

Vix laughed. "Ease up on the dramatics, I'm getting all choked up," she said, catching Arsenic's amused glance.

"HHHmmmm..... The title emporer doesn't ring a bell in my mind but that was the whole point of this idol, to learn about those beyond us," said Odin after some time to take in the image of Trajan. "You see while we are a hard and warlike people we are also a kind, loyal, and honorable people. We raid others because the barren, frost bitten, monster filled region we live in isn't the most ideal," said Odin. "Life here is finally starting to find a balence but while the land has accepted us, mistrust and rivalries threaten the peace we have established between the Two most influnetial figures and their allies. You see I used to be the guilding voice for all the Northmen instilling peace and self-relience. The land however is too harsh to sustain on our own. Despite my pleas the former Leader of all the clans was my life long friend Ymir the Bold." At this point Cornelious inturupted "Ymir, Father of Lokar who raided Susano, a tyrant who nearly starved his people and had them try to lay claim to the territory of a dragon." Suddenly the figure turned it's little wooden head and stared at Cornelious. "YOU WOULD DO WELL TO NOT SPEAK ON MATTERS YOU KNOW NOTHING OF EXILE," came the angered reply of Odin. "Ymir was a brave man who only wished the best for his people, he knew with the limted food supplies and harsh terrain food would be scarce. He did his best to rashion the food and we knew nothing of a dragon in the area of that lake. We thought it was a blessing for our struggle, and when the dragon came it came without warning and burned our food supplies and killed Ymir who tried to slay the beast giving up everything to save his people. With his death I tried to retain order, Lokar was too young to asume the role of Leader of the tribes and I held too little influence to convince the others to stay. In the end even Lokar desearted me and left with those that felt he truly was fit to be leader. All who stayed were my kinsmen and my own son and childhood friend of Lokar, Thorson. He is currently the leader of my former clan and the ruler of Valhala. It is the meeting ground for all the Ulf Jarls of the ten Clans. Lokar and my son are the most reknown of all. Despite the both of them pursuing raiding they do it only to keep their people alive. They seek to maintain peace and if given the oppurtunity they would forego raiding for the rest of their days, or at least Thorson, Lokar has grown distant and tends to hide his true motives, he rarely follows the protocal of social standing and respect. For it he has earned the favor of several powerful but cruel Ulf Jarls like Heimdall, Njord, and even my old friend Tyr. Others like Freja, Skadi, and Balder have sided with my son. The only two "neutral" Ulf Jarls are Bragi and Forsetti, Bragi is a bard and keeper of Knowledge hardly the fighting sort while Forsetti has always held my concil more than that of my son and seeks to mantain peace as well so he sides with neither of them. This crucuil balence is coming apart as the other Ulf Jarls of Lokar's tribune seek power and try to convince Lokar it's in his best interest to overthough the system and increase raiding in the southern lands to the point of Occupation of land and enslavement." Odin finally puased waiting for response from the others. Cornelious was silently pondering the words of Odin and how likely this was true.

The guard enters, showing the extravagant interior of the building. Carvings covered the walls, protraying how the draxons had reached where they stand today, with gold covered pillars holding the roof up. Tapestries trimmed with gold lace hung from the ceiling, inviting those in who wish for knowledge. "Feel free to explore around.... jsut don't get lost. The sheer amount of rows can be confusing, "Ferdinand says, semi-jokingly.

The Gryphon riders continue circling, before sending four arrows in the direction of the shots, withdrawing again to avoid getting hurt, since their mounts were already getting skittish.....

"Don't worry. I won't get lost. One of the perks of being immortal; if you don't find it now you'll simply find it later....however long 'later' may imply" rumbled Septimus with a smirk at he walked off into the isles, looking for a book that would suit his needs...

Ferdiand chuckles and waits by the door for Septimus to find what he's looking for. A sign hangs from the ceiling in Septimus' isle, written in Drakonian and says "History of Draxon & Her Peoples".

"I suppose I didn't explicitly mention it earlier, did I?" rumbled Septimus amusedly as he ran his eyes over the rows of books. "That's what I meant when i told 'Greshlynk' that Hueilin never forget. Part of our immortality is a perfect memory. some of us even remember with such clarity it may as well be occuring right there and then" he explained as he searched the rows. eventually, his eyes came across a book titled 'Kings of Draxon: The facts behind the Legends'. it was a considerably large blood red leather-bound book, and had the royal family's coat of arms on the front. The dragon hooked a claw over the edge of the spine and pulled it out, handing it to Tetto to carry for now, until he had purchased it. he then continued to search for something interesting...
