Up in the swamp, two dark forms swam through the deep water channels. THe smaller of the two forms was held close to her mother's side as the two made their way toward the Styracosaur carcass. They were Mosasaurs, creatures that normally inhabited the waters of Isla Sorna's coast. But this mother, at almost 50 feet long, had come up here into the swamps to give birth to her tiny, 4 foot long offspring that was now held tightly to her side by her front right flipper. Moa had assumed that the swamps would be the safest place to give birth, and she was right. But now, her young one and herself needed food, and the Styraco carcass in the shallows was the perfect thing they needed, before they headed back downriver to the sea.... But there was a problem. As Moa stopped just a few dozon feet short of the carcass, the water became too shallow for her to swim through. Her baby daughter could, but she wasn't about to risk her heading into the shallows... she would have to think of an idea to get this carcass...

Renegade upped his pace when he saw the unknown figure, sprinting rapidly as he tore through the forest. Bane kept up quite easily, his longer stride letting him stay level with Renegade as the two became a near blur, avoiding branches, and accelerating to frightening speeds. Fast as they were, the pursuant could not be shaken; though still far enough behind them that it was only a silhouette, obscured by the twigs and leaves, he or she was closing the gap gradually, moving at inhumane speeds that surpassed their own.
Disaster struck at that moment. Renegade, glancing back to check the follower's progress, did not see the large trunk of a reddish tree, the smooth bark having no branches coming from it until further up, looming dead ahead of him. He swung his head back around as Bane called his name, just in time to see the tree, giving a small bark of surprise. He collided head on with it, leaving a large, cracked impression on the tree, before going down, unconscious...

Tired from the day, the young giga yawns before lying down in the log. "Someday, mom," he says to himself, "I'll make you proud." He then falls asleep....

Sand Claw smelled something off in the forest. Interested Sand Claw began to walk in the direction of the scent...

Gustav decided to return to the river and explore. The giant crocodile thought maybe he'd find something new to do...

Moa eyed the Styracosaurus carcass, before deciding her course of action. The female Hainosaurus swam to the shallows, before, using her powerful front flippers and hind flippers, hauling herself into the shallow water. her flippers dug into the soft muddy soil, allowing her to easilly make her way to the kill. She bit down upon the heavy dead animal, before turning around, and hauling herself back into the deep water. Hauling herself out of water wasn't something that was standard affair to Mosasaurs, but Hainosaurus were far slimmer than their bulkier Mosasaurus cousions, and with her powerful flippers, it was rather easy for her. Once the kill was in the deep channel, she and her daughter began to tear apart the kill. THis would be her young one's first taste of real food...

Bias had by now drifted far down stream, where the river was getting wider. Alreayd, he could taste saltiness in the water... he was getting close...

Crusher almost jumped out of his skin as something scaley dropped on him from above, landing on his head. "What the...?" grumbled the young Rex as he looked down at the unconscious Velociraptor at his feet, tilting his head at it curiously. this was one twisted day. a suicidal Cryolophosaur...a Rugops that didn't know how to hunt or scavenge....a maniacal Ceratosaur...a random Daspletosaur....and now Raptors raining from the sky? Crusher was starting to wonder if he wasn't really, in fact, asleep...

As Sand Claw entered the forest he could see the creature that had made the scent, a raptor. Sand Claw began to laugh as he noticed the raptor had landed atop a Tyrannosaur's head. But as Sand Claw took a closer look he saw that it was the Juvenile Rex from before. Angered, Sand Claw almost new the raptor would survive, with a grumble Sand Claw returned back to his rock...

Gustav floated above the surface of the rivers warm, murky water with an absent mind not really caring where the current took him...

Xanthe chuckled again. "Still, no matter how much trouble they get into, can't help but admire youngsters," he growled. "They have so much energy." He watched as Alira and Cirrus got into a small tug-of-war over a strip of meat they'd both grabbed at the same time. The gray male was growling in his high-pitched voice, while Alira was making small, frustrated noises.

Meanwhile, the sub-adults were in the middle of working out a strategy. As Xanthe had said they would, they'd come across a small herd of Diplodicus. The young ones were towards the middle of the group, and the adults, with their long and dangerous tails, were ambling along slowly beside them, their teeth making short work of the vegetation they could reach. Even as they watched, one of them, a young bull, whipped his tail - there was a loud crack, and a low-growing branch was severed from a small tree. They would have to be careful, but they'd all but decided to go for one of the adults. There was something not right with that female - she was limping on one side, and she smelled of sickness. The allosaurs could also smell the telltale odor of a badly infected wound. "We'll run through the herd," one of the males growled. "Split them up. When that female's far enough behind, we go for it." He looked at the hunting party. "Xanthe and the others are counting on us," he reminded them. "So don't take any stupid risks." His gaze rested for a moment on a few males who'd been known to show off for Xanthe. "That goes for everyone. Now let's go." With that, the group of sub-adults began to stalk the sauropods, keeping their focus on that one female.

Eradicus, still awake, though nearly asleep, rose up, after hearing the sound of footsteps nearby. he looked around for a couple of seconds and spotted it's source: a daspletosaurus, in HIS territory, near the log Gothmog rested inside of. Growling at the new-comer, he stomped forward slowly, teeth bared...

Bias looked around him as the river gave way to the mighty ocean. here, large flat rocks dotted the mouth of the river. Ontop of the rocks were male Ornithochirus, large sea-going pterosaurs with keled crests on the ends of their snouts. It was the mating season for them, and the males were trying to compete for first rights. Having wingspans of 20 feet, these Pterosaurs were displayingto numerous females flying above. On the tallest of these flat-topped spires was a massive male, one with a wingspan of 40 feet. the large male honked into the skies, using his special elevated status to try and draw some females to him. The smaller males had to pick out lower flat rocks, the weakest males being forced onto rocks that had water splashing onto them. Bias, seeing a potential meal, swam closer, his eyes locked onto the nearest low rock...

Renegade had made a loud "thunk" as he hit Crusher's form.
Bane snarled in frustration, as he continued jumping from branch to branch.
The fool, he thought. He should've known better than to... ah well.
The dromaeosaurus quickly leaped at a downward angle, toward the ground, hoping he was going subtly enough to escape the line of site of his pursuant. He found a leafy tree with a fairly thick trunk somewhere to the left of him. Making his mind up, he sprinted toward it, crouching behind it, and looking up. About 20 seconds passed, before he saw a raptor, about the size of him or Renegade, flash through the greenery above him. He waited until he could hear the raptor no more, before walking back to find Renegade.
As he scanned upward, searching for the distinctive tree that Renegade had made his mark on, he suddenly caught a new, unfamiliar smell. His eyes widening, he realized he had to be careful; the scent was that of a fair sized super-predator, very close to him; in the thrill of the chase, he had not smelled it before. Bane growled as he realized he'd have to go closer to it to find Renegade... and that he may have to beat the predator to him, if it smelled him as well.

Gothmog heard the growl be emitted from his ally's maw. He glanced out from his log, and caught sight of the daspetosaurus. Seeing how he stood no chance against something that big, Gothmog layed down low, as to avoid detection....

Ba'al continued lumbering through the jungle, undergrowth being trampled under his feet, small animals scurrying to avoid his monstrous tonnage, and larger plants were either smashed aside or were parted by a huge, muscular head. Ba'al could smell that the river was close, but he also smelled that it was not unprotected. He did not recognize the scent of the particular species, but it was some kind of spinosaur, he knew that for sure. "I hope that they do not attack when I draw close..." the Tarbosaur growls to himself in a slightly worried manner. Grumbing to himself, Ba'al comes to his decision and continues towards the river, keeping low, to be ready when the river (and the potential threats) come into sight....

Eradicus pulled his head back for the moment then almost instantly after a moment mockingly lunged at the daspletosaur, roaring at his foe. The carchar soon rose up all the way, easily taller than the smaller being below him...

Razorjaw was not fazed by the carchar's intimidation,he backed away slightly but didn't stop looking into his enemy in the eyes, continuing to bare his teeth, showing a sign of weakness in this situation would be a deadly mistake....

The Ornithoceirus continued their mating displays, their snout crests flushing orange. Nmerous toothy moths cackled up into the sky, trying to draw a mate. The one on the lowest rock tried to display, but the constant action of the waves was interfering, splashing him again and again. However, his luck appeared to change when one of the females flying above began to descend down toward him. He couldn't believe it! It was almost unheard of for a female to choose a male pearched on the lowest rock... He couldn't have been more lucky! As the female descended, the male's crest changed color, from a light orange to a dark blood red...

Eradicus began to circle to the left to get past the log, eyes locked on his opponent. He growled once more, teeth still bared, shortly before making a mocking lunge at the daspletosaur, snapping is jaws nearly an inch away from the smaller creature's face...
