the growl pulled Crusher's attention away from his meal, the Rex's lip curling as his massive, serrated, blood-soaked fangs were bared, his eyes consumed mostly by a reddish tint, a narrow golden ring encircling slit-like pupils that glared dangerously at the Abelisaur. Even as small as the Rex was compared to an adult, the snarl that rumbled in his throat was already intimidating, reaching out hundreds of yards, comparable to that of a lion, rumbling in the chests of the creatures in its immediate range. Fatalis meanwhile seemed content to watch things unfold...

Shade decided to save the Stokesosaurus for later, going to back to the Diplodocus to see how things were going. She didn't know what could possibly be happening, but she wanted to know what...

Djinn continued to thrash around in the mud...

"Are you challenging me, Tyrannosaur?" Paradox snorted, his tail starting to sway slowly...

"It's not wise to threaten those you don't have a problem with, Abelisaur" snarled Crusher lowly, his patterns standing out somewhat, becoming gradually more vibrant, creating an even starker contrast with the blood that soaked his jaws...

"You are foolish. That was never a challenge. Besides, isn't the heart the best part of a carcass? I haven't had a decent meal for about a week." Paradox snorted back, his own snout splattered with blood as well.

Shade could smell several different carnivores in this area; even a Rex. She hadn't seen a Tyrannosaurus for about a month by now, and she was quite hungry. She wanted to save Djinn for later though... as she liked to play with her food when it was defenseless and alive at the same time. The Carcha continued to walk towards the scent of Diplodocus...

"Your tone suggests otherwise" snarled Crusher, unwavering, his piercing gaze unnerving to say the least, seeming to glow as the light hit his eyes at an angle. "If you haven't eaten properly in a week, stop wasting time showing aggression and spend it eating, before a larger predator turns up and chases us all off the kill" he growled as he tore another slab of flesh off the sauropod's flank...

Just when Crusher had finished his sentence, Shade arrived, looking at the two, then turning her head to Fatalis. Not you again, Shade thought to herself, shaking her head slightly in disapproval. The Carcha continued to stand where she was, watching the Rex and the Abelisaur...

Paradox shifted his head to Shade, his eyes showing alertness...

"See what I mean?" growled Crusher lowly, a single red and gold eye staring at the Carcha as he continued to eat. Fatalis meanwhile, seemed to light up. "Hey Shade. Did you miss me?!" he barked, a toothy grin on his predatory face as if he had just seen an old friend...

The abundance of predators was finally too much. Steeltalon scooped Silver, who had stretched out in the grass and was getting ready for a catnap, into her claws and backed away from the carcass, ignoring the youngster's squeak of protest. The black and white raptor glanced from Fatalis to Crusher to the newcomers, making her way toward a sturdy tree and crouching at its base, rolling slightly onto one side to get comfortable among the thick roots. The tension in the air was so thick she could almost feel it weighing her shoulders down. At any moment the situation would probably escalate into a feeding frenzy, in which everyone too close was in danger of having a bite taken out of them - and no one would care if it was part of the carcass they were swallowing or not.

"I guess..." Shade grumbled, not really knowing how else to respond. The Carcha walked towards the corpse, noticing a Nanotyrannus feasting upon the tail and a Utahraptor eating at one of the back feet, plus the several compies that dotted the Diplodocus' headless carcass. Paradox shrugged, returning to ripping at the neck.

"Did I miss anything interesting?" she snorted, ripping a hunk of flesh from the hole that Paradox had devoured, holding the meat in her jaws for a few seconds...

Fatalis had, at this point, long since finished eating. Sticking around to torment his most recent target was the only thing keeping him here, and if past experience was anything to go by, that wouldn't last long either. "How many times do you eat a day anyway?" snorted Fatalis as he looked up at the Carcha. He had picked up her scent on the scene shortly before the stench of blood on the kill had become heavy enough to overwhelm it. He knew she must've been the one who brought it down, as several of the wounds looked distinctly like those of a Carcha, in spite of dozens more looking like Allosaur injuries...

Crusher meanwhile, swiftly gulped down a few swift, vicious bites from the kill, gulping down the last of the nutrient-rich liver, the Rex finally satisfying his hunger. turning towards where Steeltalon had gone, the Tyrannosaur leapt off, walking over to her, deciding to see to it she was safe and comfortable before deciding whether or not to depart. A distance away, three Utahraptors had also walked onto the scene, walking their way over to the dead Sauropod. A few hundred yards North of them, a large dark grey Acrocanthosaur emerged from the treeline, the beast letting out a guttural snarl, thick strings of saliva linking its open jaws as it bared its saw-like fangs...

"Please don't start this with me, velociraptor (what is your name, anyway?). I've had a really...awkward day. You taunted me for about an hour today, I had to give up that Ouranosaur that I killed to a hungry and wounded Ceratosaur (who shall remain unknown in this situation) because I felt sorry for him, and besides, you should be thanking me for your meal. I killed this Diplodocus, and not only that, I DIDN'T eat it. So in other words, I let all of you have it, instead of defending it." Shade snarled. She would absolutely not tolerate a puny velociraptor like him spit insults constantly like some sort of suicidal buffoon.

"Awww, well let me be the first to thank you....for being such a horrible Superpredator" snorted Fatalis with a snicker. "Who walks away from a meal sitting right in front of them? Hell, forget that. Who kills something so much bigger than what they need?! Are you an idiot?" growled the Raptor, his expression deadpanning as he stared blankly at the Carcha...

"With a suicidal freak like you I wouldn't be using the word 'idiot.' I would have eaten this Diplodocus if that Giga didn't just randomly waltz out of nowhere and start eating it. I didn't want to bother, so I left. So do NOT think that I wasted this corpse. And whatever the hell you're trying to do, stop. It isn't going to work." Shade growled...

Aircrest lifted himself out of a small stream he rinsed himself off in, cocking his head at the ranting he heard not too far away. From the sound of the roars he figured the source to be a Carcharodontosaurus. He sighed. "I chose the wrong fight, apparently" he growled to himself. "Would have been nice to make her eat her words instead of letting her stuff her face on that carcass... ah well. All the good bits have been taken anyway" he added while he searched the treetops for a branch to jump onto. Finding one, Aircrest braced himself and made the leap, landing easily on the limb and baring his teeth at the surge of pain he felt on the side of his back. He repeated this process, leaping and waiting for the pain to subside before leaping again, until he was comfortably tucked away in the canopy, his green and black hide merging seamlessly into the environment, his time in the water removing his scent and his climb among the leaves masking it. Far above the forest floor, Aircrest let himself drift off into a light sleep to recuperate.

Steeltalon shifted into a more comfortable position. She didn't want to relax too much, but a meal - however brief - tended to make it too easy to lower your guard. If she didn't have Silver with her, a tree branch would be an ideal spot to let her nerves ease off. But she did have the youngster, so for now, she was confined to the ground - not the best position to be in, but she would have to make it work.

Shade blinked once, lowering her head back to the Diplodocus, starting to eat again. She was just tired and hungry, and she wanted to eat and then leave. That was all. The Carcha ripped out what seemed to be a kidney with a tug of slight effort, then proceeding to devour the organ...

"A kill this size would be more than enough for you and a Giga. If it was hungry it would have ignored you and eaten anyway. Fights only break out AFTER meat starts to get scarce" hissed Fatalis through narrowed eyes. "It doesn't matter if you just came back for it. This thing is way too big for you to eat alone. You could've eaten that Ouranosaur with the Ceratosaur, easy. There'd be enough for you both, without even needing this enormous thing. So my point stands. You're still an idiot, and a horrible Super-predator" he hissed...

"You going to stick around?" growled Crusher as he walked up to Steeltalon, cocking his head. The sleepy look on the hatchling's face implied she had had her fill, though the discomfort on Steeltalon's face suggested she wasn't nearly as much at peace...

In the distance, a pair of shimmering amber coloured, predatory eyes watched the events around the carcass unfold, the creature silent as the grave, and no less disquieting...

"You're just as much as one as I am. You're the one without a pack." Shade snorted. "Besides, if I was a horrible Super-predator, I wouldn't have been able to bring this Diplodocus down. Now, please allow me to eat in peace. Peace being without your otherwise stupid insults." she added, chucking the half-eaten kidney at the raptor with her jaws.

"My life as a loner is a choice. And one not made without significant sacrifice" hissed Fatalis chillingly. "My survival as a loner underscores my success as a predator beyond most others of my kind" he growled as he ducked under the oversized, half-eaten kidney, the organ still too large to catch without knocking him back, the Raptor not needing the extra food anyway. "I do alone what whole packs do together. Bringing down prey, warding off foolish attackers, be they vermin or Super Predators, if not actively seeking them out and attacking them. I live alone because a pack would be a hindrance" he purred firmly. "So you brought down a near-dead, badly injured Diplodocus. Bravo. I'm sure your parents would have been proud. Whining about wanting to eat, and yet throw your food at me. A more blindingly obvious example of stupidity I have never seen" snorted the Loner...

"That was more of a 'shut up' kind of action, actually. There's a difference between whining and making a point. Besides, if you hate me so much, why are you talking to me? Now, if you won't leave me alone, then I will throw something at you much less pleasant than a kidney. Understand?" Shade snorted. She had had enough with this raptor...
