"So what's the story of this rogue Triceratops you mentioned?" rumbled Morphena, a couple of hours since they left the river. "His story's longer than I know. Ripper told me some details, but a lot of it's still unknown to me. Basically, that Trike was once part of a whole herd. A pack of Giganotosaurs managed to set off a stampede that forced them towards a cliff, most only realising when it was too late, killing most of them as a result. That trike was one of two survivors that decided to seek revenge. For well over a year they attacked the Gigas on sight, spoiling hunts, sometimes ambushing one when it was alone, until there was only one left" rumbled the Rex. "...You're pushing the limits of what I can believe, Crusher" responded the female sceptically. "I'm just telling you what Ripper told me. Whether it's true or not is something only he knows. Either way it makes for a good story" growled Crusher.
"Right. So what happened to the last Giga?" growled Morphena, tilting her head curiously. "The last one was a brute, the leader of the pack, and at this point, bitter and hateful, just as much hunting the Trikes as the Trikes were hunting it. They lured it to the same cliff the herd had been forced off, and began circling it as they pushed it closer and closer. When it was at the edge, they both charged forward, trying to drive it off the edge" explained the Tyrannosaur. "...And?" responded the female curiously. "The Giga stumbled and lost its footing, falling and sliding off the edge. But, as it was falling it bit onto one of them, dragging the Trike down with it in a final act of defiance. The survivor's been a loner ever since, and is apparently so hateful of carnivores that it will charge on sight, destroying anything stupid enough to get in its way" explained Crusher. At that, Morphena snorted, no longer able to keep a straight face. "And you believed that? Come ON. Ripper was obviously messing with you" she growled. "Eh. Whether he was or wasn't doesn't really matter. It is a good story if nothing else" growled the Rex with a smirk, earning a giggle for the female as she calmed down.
"To be fair though, at least part of the story checks out. Every single time I've seen it in the same area as a predator, be it Raptor or Rex, it has gone on a rampage, and hasn't stopped until everything nearby was dead. Its horns are permanently stained in blood at the tips. I've never seen then clean" he added. "Well then we'll have to be careful not to get in the way of the bloodthirsty, emotionally scarred Trike" added Morphena sarcastically, stifling a laugh as she walked. The sun was descending by now, the golden afternoon light filtering through the trees, shados growing longer as the sky burned with the flames of the dying daylight...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
