James was cheerful, and began to hum A Pirate's life for me, Rainbow, who had left James earlier, was standing by his side now, whisteling the tune and joining him with some of the sentences. "We kidnap and ravage and dont give a hoot, drink up me 'arties yo ho!" sang James cheerfully. Parrot joined in "Yo Ho Yo Ho a Parrot's life fer me! RAAAAAAAAAAAK!". James chuckled cheerfully and dunked a bit of mango in the rum and gave it to Rainbow. he had been in an unusually cheerful mood since that one kiss, and had been humming since then, occasionally speaking the words to the songs he sang...

Eric was sleeping with Adeline right beside him. She couldn't get an ounce of sleep. Her mind was full of thoughts on what she should do. Should she tell James the truth of it all, that she was married and they couldn't be together? What would James think if she told him? "He has to know though. I can't hide this from him if I..." She sighed and got out of bed. Before leaving the room, she gazed at Eric. He looked so peaceful and calm...

Adeline quietly made her way up to the deck. She hoped that James was still there, and was glad to find him still in the same spot, humming cheerfully. "James," Adeline called and walked over to him. "James, we need to talk. I have to tell you something."

James looked at her, grinning. he said "Of course, Adeline. what is it?". he offered a bit of the orange that was left, and waited to hear what she had to say. Rainbow went up to the crow's nest and continued to whistle the tune...unknown to them, a very unusual scene was happening around...and below them...

Adeline was trying to form the words in her mind. She shook her head when he offered her some orange. How was she going to say this to James? She couldn't look him in the eyes. She didn't even want to say it, but she had to. "We can't be together, James. I am..." She trailed off. Should she say that one word? "I am married already." Her eyes were focusing on the wooden floorboards of the deck.

James' grin seemed to disappear in an instant. "Uh...oh...ah...oh" was all that would come from his mouth. after a while of silence and thought, he decided he'd at least have the decency of congratulating her for it. he was devastated, but if that was what she wanted..."well...Con...Congratulations Adeline...i hope you're happy with the person you married" he said, his voice getting quieter and quieter as he spoke. he immediately knew who that man was. that was her husband... he thought. no wonder she wouldn't look at me at the time...she was worried about her husband making assumptions...worried about how he'd act if he knew...James sighed and grabbed the nearly empty bottle of rum next to him, and drank all that was left in one big gulp, and then just started to stare at the ground...

Meanwhile...
"I wonder wot'd 'appen if we dropped a cannonball on one of 'em" suggested Ragetti. him and Pintel started to snicker mischievously, and ran off to the cargo hold on the Pearl...

Her heart was breaking at the sound of his voice, his heart wrenching voice. She held back her tears and knelt next to him. "I am so sorry James, I..." What should she say in this type of situation? "I don't love him!" Well, it was true.

James looked up, a look of surprise on his face. "You don't? why'd you marry him then?". it was rather surprising. why would she marry someone she didn't love? he thought, as he waited for a reply...

"Because he...I had to," she admitted, still not looking him in the eyes. "My father's in debt, so he wanted me to marry my singing tutor. He knew we were lovers in the past..." She bit her lip nervously. She walked away from James and wrapped her arms around herself. "You don't know what it's like. He watches my every action, like a predator waiting to strike. He loves me and wants to be with me." How should she describe Eric? Did she fear him? No, fear wasn't the right word, or was it?

James felt his sadness change....into anger. she was forced?! how dare he?! James felt like gutting the man, but then, he thought of how others would react...especially Barbossa...ugh, the thought of that scraggly bearded ******* digusted him. "Adeline...you had a million gold as a gift from the French Governor...you could've used it for that reason. it's in the cargo hold right now...but you didn't have to let that...that monster force you to marry him using your father's debt as an excuse". James' mind whirred away, trying to think of alternative solutions and what other things might have happened while he was away...Damn you Jones, Damn you! he thought...when he finally got hold of him....he'd rip that squid headed crab's tentacle beard off...one tentacle at a time...with his bare hands...

"He wanted to...oh, I am such a..." She let out a cry and slid down to the floor. What could she do now? But then James called Eric a monster. Monster, he was called that in the past by his mother and father. "Don't call him that," she defended. "Never call him that." She may not love him, but she still cared for him. Her hand went to her stomach. Her eyes finally glanced up to see James, angry. "James, try to calm down," she said softly.

James sighed at Adeline's request. "I am calm.....but im so damn frustrated....if i ever get ahold of Davy Jones it'll be me asking him if he fears death, not the other way around...i'll have him begging for mercy before i've even started". Had it not been for Jones' capturing mood, this would never have happened. James' hands were balled into fists, which were actually going pale from how tightly they were clenched. he had probably cut himself with his own nails. but he kept himself as calm as he could. but frustration was building up...

Adeline watched James carefully. No, he didn't look calm. His hands were balled into fists. His knuckles were going white. She got up and cautiously walked next to him. She placed a hand on his arm. "James, look at me right now. You don't look calm. Sit down." She just hoped that he wouldn't lash out at her.

James sighed, and sat down on the barrel he was at. Rainbow landed on the barrel next to him with a bottle of rum in his claws, and then flew off. James stared at the bottle, but didn't touch it. he looked at Adeline, his eyes showing a mixture of sadness, rage and frustration...and love...

She smiled faintly. "Good, at least you're sitting now, listen to me James. We are going to find some way out of this, or at least try together. I don't know how yet, but there must be something. We just have to stay strong." She gazed into his eyes, waiting for a reaction from him.

James sighed. "I hope we can, Adeline...i really do". his spirits lifted, but still, he was going through so many emotions at the same time he didn't know what to think. should he be happy that she loved him, and not her Husband-by-force? should he be worried about what may have already happened? should he be enraged that Davy Jones' whim had prevented him from standing against the move at the time? what should i do? he thought. he had no idea...

"I know, me too." She hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek before walking over to the edge of the ship to see... "Hey James, what are those things in the water?"

James looked up from the bottle of r which was being held losely in his hand. he got up, straightened his hat, and walked over to the edge of the ship. "Bodies" he said, nearly out of breath...

"Dey should be in de care of Dievy Juones...Dat was de duty 'im was charged wid.....by de goddess....Calypso...to ferry dose who die at sea to da oder side..." came a faint voice from the Pearl, which was by the Dragon's side. it was Tia Dalma's voice they heard. James took off his hat, holding it to his chest, a feeling of mourning taking over his heart for the time... "...and every ten years...'im could come ashore....to be with she who love 'im...truelly...but de man has become a monsta..."...

Adeline stared at the water. A feeling of sorrow overwashed her as she watched the dead bodies. Then next, came the boats. There were all kinds of people arriving in little boats.

Ragetti was the one to point them out first, saying. "They boats comin' next." Everybody turned to silently watch the boats, as the passed. Adeline put her hand over her mouth at the sight of two little girls in one boat. They looked so innocent, what did they ever do?

James' eyes went wide with shock wen he spotted Pierre...the young lad he had saved, who had, as he had later found out, decided to follow them, sitting in one of the boats. "Pierre!" he exclaimed. the young Frenchman just looked at him, and said "James...are you dead?". James shook his head. "Well...if your not...i must be...zat ghost ship...ze Flying Dutchman...she attacked us...in ze middle of ze night....and her captain...ze man with ze squid beard...he asked me if i feared death...i said no....and...and he stabbed me....". James' hands balled into fists. "Pierre! grab the rope! we'll pull you aboard!". Pierre shook his head. "My time has come, my friend...i thank you for your previous help...but zis time...i am ment to die". he then turned his emotionless face to face back towards the direction his boat was floating, James slamming his hand against the ship's side in frustration. "Davy Jones...you'll be begging for death when i get hold of you...of that, i guarantee" he snarled, his hands shaking and actually putting strain on the bottle in his hand...

"Aye. Maybe innocent, maybe not. Ye do not know how they ended up 'ere sailin' to their end. Best not disturb them we are nothin' more but mere ghosts to 'em then they are to us." Said Barbossa calmly as he watched remembering...
