James picked up an apple with his clean hand, and handed it to Adeline, before picking another one from the bowl and putting it next to him, to eat during the time he polished...

Adeline said a quiet "thank you" to James and took a bite out of it before setting it down on the table again to continue her polishing. She started to hum a little tune while doing so.

James finished polishing his medallion, a silver skull and cross swords with J on the left sword and S on the right sword, and put it on around his neck, before moving onto his various sword sheaths, choosing his dagger sheath first, since it had the most metal on it in comparison to leather. he began to whistle the tune he had heard Tia Dalma's locket play a while ago...

Adeline looked up from her work and stopped momentarily when she watched James put the medallion around his neck. Her humming stopped as well. "Where did you get that? And...what's that tune? It sounds beautiful."

James said "This was forged using an old Aztec coin that i had in my possesion at one point. that coin got given to someone else after i had this medallion made. as for the tune, it's one i heard when Tia Dalma started her musical locket a few months ago, before i went to the locker"...

"Oh," she said thoughtfully and continued with her polishing. When she was done with the buckle, she moved on to one of the sword sheaths and started to work hard on the metal. "Who did you give the coin to after the medallion was made?"

James said "I sold it to some fat merchant who stopped in Tortuga, for a fair amount of gold. i used that gold to help invest in making this ship. a while later i heard that same merchant had run afoul of the Pearl and her cursed crew"...

Adeline was silent again after James told her about the merchant he sold it to. "You know James," she finally said after a few minutes of silence. "I would like to hear you hum that tune again. Will you do it, for me?"

James said "I could get out the guitar and play it for you. it's not exactly a long tune"...

Adeline nodded. "Ok then. You can play it for me...but I like to hear you hum it or whistle it."

James said "Tell you what. i'll start with humming, then whistling, then whistling while playing it on guitar"...

Adeline smiled and chuckled a little. "Ok, that's a deal."

James began to hum the tune, his polishing rag on the table and his guitar in hand. after he went through the tune once humming, he repeated it whistling. he then began to play the guitar, starting with single strings, then strumming, and ending it with an intricate version of the tune. when he was done, he looked up at Adeline, waiting for a reaction...

Adeline stopped her polishing and gazed at James as he started. Her eyes started to close at once when he began to hum it. She liked his voice. Once he stopped with that, she opened her eyes again when he started to whistle the same tune, then play it on his guitar. When he was done, she clapped her hands together and praised him softly. "It sounded even more beautiful on the guitar, especially the way you played it."

James grinned, and said "Thanks for the complement, though if it wasn't for Tia Dalma, i wouldn't know the song at all". he put his guitar back in it's case, and resumed his polishing, humming Tia Dalma's tune as he went, the song now stuck in his head...

Adeline went back to her polishing. While doing so, another question popped into her head. Her mind was on the secret engagement. "James. Should we tell your father about the engagement?" There was a thoughtful expression on her face. By now, she was done with polishing the sword sheath, and was inspecting it, making sure she didn't miss any spots. When she was satisfied, she placed it on the table.

with a laugh, James said "He'd probably argue wanting you himself! but if you like, of course....but not until we're in a position where we cant be stopped though...my father's known for being a bit chatty at times, you never know when he might spill something important"...

Adeline laughed and agreed with him. "Ok. I will not do it though unless you are comfortable with it and Eric cannot be around." She stopped and frowned a little when she mentioned that name. She wasn't so sure if James would like to hear that name after what happened. She still didn't know if he was mad at her about what transpired earlier on the deck. What did he think about it?

James made a slight twitch when Adeline mentioned that man's name. he finished polishing his main sword's sheath, and now moved onto his gun...

Adeline sighed. There was that silence again and she was getting frustrated with it! "Is there something wrong? If so, please tell me what it is." There was more of a frown visible on her face.
