Grievous leaped into the cockpit of Soulless One, his two bodyguards heading into the small cargo bay in the craft's underside. They lifted off, and blasted out of the hangar. Soulless One's shields and thin layer of impervium (mined from Geonosis) rendered the ship virtually indestructible from anything less than an en masse barrage if laser fire. The ship headed down towards the city, blasting through any jet that had the misfortune to get in the way with its dual triple laser cannons.

The REXs, finally gripping the situation, put their full attention on the large machines that were taking out so many of their kind. Many fired their super-lasers at them, piercing their armor easily, while others fired their missles at them, the full attention of the behemouths enough to destroy many of the machines. Suddenly, missles rained down from the sky, as if from no where, by the thousands they exploded against the droid troops, destroying the smaller ones on contact, and destroy many of the larger ones as the missles rained down almost continously. Suddenly, the source of the missle assualt showed themselves: Hordes of Metal Gear RAYs appearing from the nearby lake, attacking the enemy from the side. The RAYs shrieked as they unleashed every missle they had, firing 90 missles per second as they hammered the droid forces, soon running low on the missles. As they finally stopped, the RAYs marched forward, firing their lasers and machine guns at the nearest targets.

The jets, and some of the RAVENs, engaged the large ships in space, destroying many of the ships' weapons just by their sheer numbers. The ground to space missles also helped, slamming into the ships with deadly force, mainly targetting the ship over the city, the shield weakening rapidly by the bombardment.

"Fools...Its like they didn't see this coming..." Frank said, laughing darkly as he watched the carnage...

However the cloaked TIE Phantoms moved in, securing the ships as TIE Interceptors and Fighters continued along, patrolling the Imperial Star Destroyers, coming from each of each individual hanger from the star destroyers, defending it. Still The Annihilator still had strong as the planet surface was continued to being bombarded from the massive flagship's weaponry.

"General Veers...prepare...were still having some trouble.." Revan responded. Gunships loaded with troopers prepared to deploy along with landing cargo's ships prepared to deploy AT-AT's to the surface towards the city...they needed to surround the city and press on foward. Fighters continued to defend the enemy fighters as the Annihilator continued to lay massive fire to the city below..

The missles from the surface continued to pound the flagship, damaging its underside with each blast, the power of each individual missle were equal to Cruise missles. The jets used their speed to avoid some of the fire, even as their numbers began to drop, not focussed on the fighters, but rather the main ships' weapons. Even as their numbers dropped, they continued to pound the ships and slowly began making them useless, with almost no outside weaponry on some of the lesser ships. The RAVENs were most at risk by the ships' main weapons, only effected by the fighter's missles or bombs. They were personally dealing with the fighters, using their lasers, missles, and wings to destroy them.

The Annihilator began to rise higher into the air, its shields still held...

"Prepare to withdraw power from the engines into the firepower of the shields..." Revan commanded as the Grand Admiral nodded. After moving upward enough as TIE Squardons continued to engage enemy fighters as the Annihilator was at a immense height as its guns prepared to fire once more...more powerful due to the fact engine power was being taken away so it would go into shields and fire power..

Now at a greater range, The Annihilator fired its heavy turbo laser batteries once more, the green lasers pouring into the city, firing towards the defenses as hundreds of assualt concussion missles poured into the planet surface, taking out entire city blocks...

Grievous' fleet, under command by OOM-6, attacked the RAVENs viciously. They released new, fresh hordes of Vulture Droids, Tri-Fighters, and even Heavy Missile Platforms to attack the jets.

A new droid soon arrived: the Tri-Droid. These balloon-headed, tripedal, 10-meter tall droids were armed with three separate missile launchers, capable of destroying a heavy tank with one shot. They could attack from extreme range, as well as from all sides. Lines of missiles collided with the Metal Gears, mostly the RAYs. The remaining Annihilators and Protodekas pounded the REXs relentlessly, reducing many to dust.

The Soulless One flew towards the enemy city, scanning the area below for any sign of the jamming device. "Revan, my ground forces need help! What's taking you so long?!" demanded Grievous angrily. He didn't need the city bombed, he needed their ground forces obliterated.

"We dont have confirmed coordinates, were gonna send in Fighters into the surface to disable enemy jamming systems...they we can more accurately bombard enemy forces from space and then unleash our ground forces. You must hold general..." Revan replied as TIE bombers, guarded by fighters headed for the planet surface as the Annihilator continued to fire its weaponry, blasting the city all over as imperial fighters searched for the jamming systems..

Even more jets flew up from the city, replacing some of the ones that were lost, aswell as even more RAVENs aiding their battle ravanged counterparts. The ground missles shot at once, a coirdinated attack, all heading for specific places on the ship above: The lasers. The bunchs of missles slammed into the weapons, slowly damaging them more and more. If the assualt continued like this, the weapons would be destroyed...

The RAYs and REXs fought back mercilessly, the remaining REXs still inside the base moving out to aid their allies in the battle. The RAYs and REXs fired their lasers and, for the REXs, their missles, destroying hordes of droids with the intensity of the lasers. The Tanks fought back as best as they could, their attacks being small in comparision to their behemouth allies. The troops pressed on aswell, firing missles and grenades at large and small droids alike...

"Fools. Looking for the jamming system, are they?" Frank laughed as he watched the smaller ship above the city. "Well then, they'll have to dig up the entire city to find it!" he said, laughing darkly at his own statement. The jamming systems were underground as he said...

Grievous made an irritated noise, but didn't reply, focusing on finding the jamming system, then maybe find the commander of these forces. he needed some questions answered, and he was going to get them...

The droid army was constantly reinforced by more dropships, dropping off more and more B1s, B2s, and B3s. More vehicle-like droids arrived as well, giving blow after devastating blow to the Metal Gears. Despite the staunch defense, the droids just couldn't seem to push into the city effectively.

"You will learn that some planets are not to be taken lightly...Continue to send more and watch as they are slaughtered." A static filled message displayed on all of the enemy ships above, the distorted voice of Frank himself.

The Metal Gears continued to hold, dropping slower then the enemy forces, their armor far superior then their droid counterparts. Even with the heavy firepower, they were holding longer then their attacks on their enemy. It was basically a standstill. The GEKKOs poured out of the base once more, as a second wave, crushing, destroying, and blowing apart every small droid that came their way, aswell as targetting nearby large droids, which they managed to destroy by bombarding with grenades.

"My Lord, we must pull back into oribit and pull back of their range, they are focusing on the super lasers" The Grand Admiral yelled.

"Pull the Annihilator back into orbit, out of their range and repair the damage and return back..." Revan commanded. The enemy was putting up quite a fight..

"Remember we cant destroy the city...were not suppose to' The Grand Adrmiral responded.

"So it seems...have General Veers ready, we must launch them early, have them drop off on the weak side, then have the second group advance...surround the city, kill all in their path" Revan responded as the Annihilator began to head ouf their enemy's range...firing towards missle launchers, blasting parts of the city to piecies..

More droids appeared, stubbornly refusing to back down and keeping the enemy troops right where they were. The infantry droids, while inferior alone, had the advantage of numbers, and were overwhelming the enemy infantry. B3 droids pounded the Metal Gears up close, charring their armor with their flamethrowers. The remaining Annihilators and Protodekas continued to hold against the attack, their shields regaining power quickly. Droidekas were the most deadly small droids, however, able to withstand a light artillery round before their shields failed.

With the Annihilator pulled itself back out into orbit along with the other Imperial Star Destroyers...repairs were being made. Their strong shields held and took most of the damage. The massive Super Star Destroyer then had its pause as it then prepared to fire once more...

"General Veers...you may begin your attack..." Revan commanded. Suddenly Imperial Landing forces, escorted by Tie fighters as two armies, each landing in different directions. They planned to press the assualt...

Leading them was the massive, heavily armed AT-AT's supported by the AT-ST's, the two legged support vechicles that could deal their fair ammount of damage supported by hover tanks...their single cannon and duel laser cannons made them an effective support unit as well. The signature and more numerous Clone Trooper...armed with their riffle with gernade, while less numerous then droids, they were smarter and more combat effective...

The Imperial Ground Forces landed on their clear field landing spot, as soon as they assembled, they would march towards the city..

The REXs dismantled the flamethrower using droids with bullets and missles, the flames only slightly weakeneing the armor. After they destroyed their closest attackers, they focussed their attacks back on the larger threats, as did the RAYs. Once again a large-though not nearly as large as the previous assualt-number of missles rained down on the droids, destroying many, small and large, with their sheer numbers, just as more RAYs lumbered out of the base, helping their REX counterparts with the frontal assualt.

Suddenly, inside the base, 5 pods exploded from the base, soaring up into space, slamming into the fleeing ship before it got far from range, the tops of the pods sinking in, drilling into the very surface of the ship, allowing its occupants entry into the massive flagship. 15 soldiers and 5 GEKKOs from each pod were now entering the ship as it tryed to run...

The GEKKOs on the ground helped their human comrads with the droids, crushing them underfoot and blowing them away with their various weaponry.

Noticing the coming assualt, more forces attacked. Some of the airborn RAVENs not in space began bombing the ground troops, flying next to a large quadraped machine, its wing slicing into the metal and ripping a giant hole in its side. Another RAVEN screeched and fired 4 missles into the rip, destroying the machine from the inside out. A number of REXs and RAYs were attacking aswell, while the main forces attacked the droids.

The massive flagship acted on its own...numerous defense turrets dropped down from the cieling and opened fire on the attempted boarding parties as ray shields kept them trapped and sealed off certain areas. With the Annihilator back in orbit, its guns were being prepared to fire once more as Revan was aware of the incoming attacks...Some pods were even fired upon from defense point laser cannons and TIE Fighters that protected the flagship.

Suddenly a massive four legged gun platforms appeared on the ground. Suddenly their long range cannons were fired as the massive missles slammed into city buildings as TIE Fighters covered the advancing Imperial Forces from the air. The two Imperial armies pressed on...General Veers aboard his modified AT-AT moved in, leading groups of AT-At, flanked by At-st's as hover tanks went with the infantry as the AT-At's and gun platforms fired upon the city...

A swarm of HMPs arrived, raining a veritable cloud of missiles from above. The sheer volume and power of the ordinance destroyed quite a few Metal Gears, their hulls buckling under the pressure. A second, then third, fleet arrived, dropping more deadly bombs and missiles on the enemy army.

Hailfire droids rolled up, their payloads of thirty missiles each vaporizing Metal gears in seconds. With incredible speed, they turned and rolled away to restock at refresher droids that hung back at the rear of the army. The Tri-Droids were also in the back, drilling missile after missile into Metal gears.

The smaller droids forces were more than capable of holding off the attackers, mowing them down with accurate blaster fire.

Geonosian fighters also arrived, strafing the GEKKOs and taking them out with incredibly accurate shots from their single Laser Cannons, aimed at the GEKKOs' legs.

Trandoshan dropships also appeared, but only dropped off Rocket Turrets mounted on treads. These deadly weapons rolled forward, ripping through infantry with ease as they fired dozens of rockets.

Grievous' ship continued its search, looking for the source of the communication problem.

More RAYs fired back, more missles clouding the sky just as the previous ones did, but were not aimed at the front forces. Every missle slammed into the back of the army, destroying almost every re-stocking machine in their weakened state, aswell as the things that were re-stocking them. One GEKKO fired cables attached to its "head" at an alien creature, yanking back as the creature's head was ripped from its body. They continued their assualt on the infantry, crushing them with their legs, destroying them with the machine guns and grenades, and ripping them apart with the cables. The RAYs near the front opened their "mouths", firing their piercing lasers which sliced many droids in half and completely destroyed others. The REXs unleashed their pulse lasers, which exploded violently on contact, destroying more of the droid army.

The forces on board were attacking the defensive system, the GEKKOs making short work of the turrents.

The other forces continued their assualt on the other army, the RAVENs continueing their tactic of opening the large machines before destroying them with missles. The RAYs unleashed their missles as the previous ones did, the missles raining down on the smaller forces, destroying infantry and smaller mechs.

The Jets and space RAVENs followed the main ship, not about to give up on their assualt. They continued firing at the ship's weapons, one RAVEN flying over to the laser and slicing into it with his wing. Another RAVEN, using its armor as a shield for the smaller turrets on the ship while dodging the larger ones, advanced on the tallest part of the ship, flying past it with incredible speed, slicing into the metal as it opened a hole in the ship itself.

Grievous was frustrated from his lack of success. However, he did discover a building in the center of the city. Thinking this to be the commander's HQ, he headed straight for it, readying his cannons to blow a hole in it...

The droid army pushed forward, mowing down the attacking force. they outnumbered and outgunned their enemy, but otherwise were simply not efficient enough. They did, however, refuse to back down. The Hailfire droids used what was left of their payloads to bring down the closest Metal Gears, before using their anti-personnel cannons to mow down infantry. Droidekas and Annhilators worked together, with the smaller droid hiding behind their "big brothers'" shields. This combination proved to be lethal against the Metal Gears and infantry.

"Scramble TIE Defenders..." Revan commanded...it seemed the Annihilator did what it could with his orbital bombardment...it would now have no choice but to be nothing more then just a command ship. TIE Defenders then left the hanger..

The TIE Defenders were faster and much more deadlier then the other TIE's with them. The TIE Defenders, moving in groups of four began to rapidly pick of enemy units with speed and their large star fighter armanent...point laser cannons continued to take accurate shots as 2 Imperial Star Destroyers nearby beagn to move in as an escort...one from the right, the other from the left...it was not long till the sheer ammount if TIE"s in the area overwhelmed their foes.

As for the Imperial Ground Forces, TIE Fighters on the surface with TIE bombers began to bomb and attack the missle launchers as General Veers pressed the assualt...they began to move in as Clone Troopers moved swiftly, following the hover tanks as they moved the fastest as they closed in on the city, blasting enemy ground forces with their laser cannons as their main cannon blasting the heavier targes. AT-ST's moved in defense as support as troopers closed in, sprting through the field as AT-AT's fired back in support..

More dropships dropped Tri-Droids directly into the city next to the Imperial forces. Their wall-climbing ability would prove invaluable and they easily dodged attack, despite their size, and retaliated with powerful missile attacks.
