Nightbane continued to circle the snake, picking various rocks that he spotted and batting them at the snake. he finally found a rather large one. he batted it at the snake with a decent amount of strength and sent it hurtling into the snake, colliding with it's head...

Silver Hood was dazed. He was now sevearly peeved at the lion. Silver Hoodlunged at the lion, his mouth opened. His fangs scratched Nightbane's leg, some venom being inserted into the wound. The snake sped off. THe fast acting venom caused sudden numbness and swelling as well as pain, but it shouldnt kill the lion..

Nightbane snarled irritably as he eyed the wound. it was a very shallow graze on his skin. even IF it managed to get some venom in there, it would in no way be enough to hinder him for long. several minutes later, he cringed at the faint pain he felt on the surface of his leg along with the slight swelling, but ignored it. "Good thing that was a shallow one" he grunted. he could tell by the way he felt the pain that it was on the surface. no veins hit by the cut. he lifted his paw and showed the wound to the Leopard. "THAT is why you shouldn't get involved with Venomous snakes" he grunted, lowering his paw and flexing his claws...

"You going to be okay?" Sarra asked rushing to Nightbane's side and looking at the wound herself. "I guess you shouldn't lick it, huh?" she growled humorously, trying to lighten the mood.

Nightbane eyed the Leopard curiously. a few minutes ago they were being aggressive, now she was rushing to look at a wound as if she intended to nurse it. ignoring it, he grunted "I'll be fine. it's too shallow to kill me. hell, even that swelling will be gone in an hour or so. but i do need to clean it at least"...

"There's a salt water spring not far from here," Sarra said pointing her tail to the right. "The salt will help prevent infection."

Nightbane nodded with a grunt, before turning and heading in that direction, half expecting it to be a deathtrap...

Sarra lept back into the tree and started to leap from branch, following Nightbane. She loved to leap branch to branch, a good way to show off her agility and gracefulness. She may not be strong and bulky like the lion, but she was sleek and graceful, the one thing her mother had taught her was to be proud of what she was.

Blood Scar looked..patrolling the territory once more. Short little fights with the other crocs were somewhat ammusing to downright annoying, still he had to patrol again and again..no time for rest. He snarled to himself as he made his presence noticable as he swam along the surface, scaring off herbivores who came by the waters to drink as his scarred armor clearly shown itself. Cruising along, the Salt Water Croc went back underwater..

After searching for prey for fifty minutes, darkspot picked up the scent of a deer and was following it steathily. Though he couldn't see the deer yet, it's scent was leading him towards it. He put all other thoughts out of his mind except for following his prey and being ready to attack it once he did find it.

Night poked her head out of the den and scented the air cautiously before she retreated back inside, only to reappear a moment later with Lusa dangling by her scruff from her jaws. "Outside! We're going outside!" the pup squeaked excitedly, waving her paws as if trying to tell Night that she wanted to be put down. But Night bounded up the steep slope above the den until she reached a particularly smooth granite boulder and set the pup down there. The fuzzy little black wolf looked down in puzzlement, used to jagged ledges coverd in sharp little stones and cracks that tore at pads and made them bleed. Night wrapped her thick tail over her forepaws and growled, "Run your pads over the stone. Can you feel the age-old pawprints that were worn into the rock by many years of walking over this spot?" Lusa did as she was told, and was startled when she felt her tiny paws slip into gentle dips in the stone, almost unnoticable. She nodded, feeling how perfectly her paws seemed to fit into the prints. "They were left by wolves that once lived and hunted all over these cliffs. Every day you live here, you will step into the prints of the wolves who first settled this territory. They dug out the den we live in, and hunted the same prey as we hunt now." Lusa looked up, her eyes wide with wonder. "Those wolves are gone now," Night continued, "either scattered over other territories or dead, but every night, when you look up at the moon and hear wolves howling in the distance, know that many voices once sang to the moon and stars here was well." The white female twitched her ears. "My father told me that story once," she growled. "And every time I tell it to myself, I remember him. So never forget the stories of old, Lusa. They keep our proud history as wolves alive."

Nightbane walked onwards, expecting the Leopard to take the lead and show him first...he didn't want to risk it...afterall, he had already inflicted a significantly dangerous blow to her face...she'd probably need the spring as much as he did after that hit...what better way to prove that it really was there than have her lead him to it personally? he kept walking, slowing so the Leopard past him, following...

Sarra took the lead, thinking that he didn't really know the way to it and then stopped as the pool came into view. She leapt down and padded over to it knowing that the wound on her face was going to need some treatment. She took a breath then dunked her head in...

Nightbane walked over to the stream, looking right and left, his senses on high alert, making sure there wasn't another predator in the area, before dunking his slightly wounded paw in the salt water, a familiar sharp sting marking that the wound was being disinfected. next to go in was his head, the massive skull dunked in along with an impressive amount of his mane. as he lifted his head from the water, shaking it off his fur, he opened his eyes, the water on his mane running down to soak more of it, matting it down on his chest. "looks like there was more left than i thought" he grunted, raising his head and chest and returning his stance, the sun shining off his now wet mane making it look even richer, the reflection making it seem to glow...

Sarra shook her head as well and looked at Nightbane and tilted her head. "I guess when you do look at it in the right light, your mane does look like the sun rests in it," she said.

Nightbane grinned slightly, the mention of manes reminding him of something. "My father once said...you could see everything you need to know about how healthy a Lion is, in his mane. the darker it is, the healthier. his mane was similar to mine. mostly blackish-brown, with golden fur around the head that doesn't change with it" he growled thoughtfully...

Sarra nodded. "You can tell how healthy a panther is by the sleekness of her coat," she said turning to show her side, letting the light bounce off of her fur to show it's shinyness.

Nightbane smirked. "I guessed as much. it's the same with the Leopards on the savannah" he growled with a chuckle. an extra touch of amusement was added to his thoughts as the thought of dunking the smaller cat in the water came to mind...

Lusa thought for a moment, before she growled, "Why do wolves sing?" Night tipped her head to one side, thinking. "We sing because when wolves in a pack hunt, they howl to one another to let each other know where they are. And often, wolves merely howl to keep in touch with other wolves." Lusa gazed up at the big white wolf and asked, "Night, will you sing for me?" Night blinked in surprise before she lifted her muzzle to the skies, opened her maw, and let out a long, low howl. The single note carried the sorrow of many years of solitude, and Lusa found herself becoming lost in the howl. As Night's voice rose and fell like waves in a river, hope joined the sorrow, and Lusa, unable to stop herself, threw back her head and added her own, higher-pitched but no less emotional howl to Night's.

with a grunt, Nightbane got up. "Perhaps we'll meet again" he growled as he walked away, hearing the howls of two Wolves in the distance...
