OOC: Omphf! Didn't see that one coming
The remaning helipcopter transports waited paitently, the crews silently mourning those aboard the downed chopper, who were either dead or doomed. Finally, Andrews voice crackled through a radio "
Alpha team here. Anti-Air defence system deactivated, time for you to get a move on." The choppers cranked up, rotars spinning as they took off from the grassy ground, passing the threshhold indicateing the defence system's missile range. Meanwhile, a shadowy incarnation watched the choppers lift off. It was torn between choices. Fly towards the jets it spotted takeing off just moments ago or go after the choppers. It eventually decided to pursue the choppers. If the jets were indeed looking for him, the local Hawk Wyverns would keep them busy. Hopefully the pilots were as good as he figured, otherwise there wouldn't be anything else left for him when he had delt with his 'freinds' down at the base...
The information within the lab was amazing. Loose records of expairmental weaponary never heard of before.... Mentions of new missiles to replace the Dragon Darts... However, they were only digging at the scraps. The main computer terminal refused to be hacked. But this couldn't thaw Jacobs amazement. He found information on one private computer about research into Dragon's behavior regarding humans. Apparently and suprisingly, the scientists had been conducting very controversal and illiegal reseach. It was well known that dragons would hunt down captured family members, so prolonged examination of live dragons was banned. Apparently the Irish scientists at Croi ó tine weapons and tactics research facility had been holding a dragon captive for months, possibly even years. He could only base this fact on the dates represented in entries. One of them was damning proof of this dragons existence. "
Today the suits called in and nearly opened Obsidion's cage. Apparently Duffy had set the code to the standard security code used throughout the base so he wouldn't forget it. I swear, some time that idiot is going to get us all court martialed. Today we were lucky, Jerry told them to get back from it dramaticly and went on about a failed bio chemical weapon they had been expairmenting with that wasn't fully disposed of yet. The suits weren't impressed and obviously didn't really believe him but I don't think they wanted to take the chance of opening something to do with dangerous bio chemicals." he recocnised the name thoughtfully. Obsidion.... The same name the other dragon had mentioned. Then he saw another entry, dated the same day as the last. It read "
Changed the code on Obsidions cage. 9173. For some reason I find those numbers simple to memorise, so it seems safest. We can't risk recording the code anywhere so we have to remember it. Also, there is no other way to breach the cage concealment barrier without it. Safety precaution." Jacob smirked, seeing the scientists mistake. He had said the code right there even though they "couldnt risk recording the code anywhere" He looked away from the computer towards a console on the other side of the room, nobody had paid it the slightest bit of attention, instead focusing on the accessible computers and filing cabnits... He walked towards it curiously.... It seemed like the most likely place for it....
There was a small blinking keypad on it, underneath a screen reading "test chamber tempature controls"
Even if it wasn't the cage controls, it still could provide some use for accessing the test chambers. So far this was the only accessible room. He tapped in the code into the pad "9173"
Instantly it beeped three times and then showed up red. He frowned and keyed it in again. Same result.
He looked around, wondering where the cage was.... Nothing fit the criteria. It was annoying... He turned back to the blinking key pad and tapped it in again "9173" It beeped once. A tiny green light flashed on and the screen above it went blank. New options scrolled down it reading "Decativate Concealment wall: 1"
"Open cage: 2"
"Adjust tempature: 3"
"Activate specator mode: 4"
He hesitated a moment, thinking of what this could result in... He tapped the '1' key and waited. The lights on the left side of the room blinked off. The dials on a power moniter stopped moving. Everyone looked over to it, confused. The wall shuddered for a moment and then a wide section of it begun sinking into the ground, the entire room shakeing. By the time it stopped, the area beyond was revealed. A wide open room, square in shape with several doors on one side and an elevated platform at one side. In the center, a large cage with steel bar fences going from floor to ceiling. Within them, asleep on a large bed of straw... a heavily built black dragon. It was obviously young, small in size in comparision to most dragons. Could be compared to an elephant. It had large black plated scales which shrunk on his tail. They were much larger than normal for dragons, just one scale covered his entire forehead, from one horny brow to the other and down his beak like snout. His eyes were closed, heavy armoured eyelids quivering momentarily... Its wings were folded back along its sides, its front legs were oddly shaped for legs and its hind legs were built more anthro-style. Jacob could only guess that it stood on its back legs just as much as on all fours. Everyones weapons were drawn, pointed towards the almost cute looking monstrous dragon. Cute because of the way its head rested on its elbow and of its tail which curled around the sleeping dragons side, tossing and flicking in the air like a cat's.
Rick was the first to speak. The dragon hunter whispered "
What do we do?" No one answered. Declan, another hunter hissed "
I thought this kind've thing was illiegal!" Jacob mumered "
Looks like our irish buddies have been keeping a few secrets...." After some more silence, Rick said "
I say we should wake him. He might be like those other dragons, you know, co-operative. Besides, he won't try anything while we have so much fire power trained on him..."
