Gravemind's voice, slightly more frustrated, growled angrily, "You will show me what you hide, or I will feast upon your bones!"

A single Combat Form watched Serephir from the darkness of the winding hallways, but did not attack...

"What's wrong? annoyed that i'm amused by your threats?" said Serephir as he continued, heading down the hallway towards the Reactor, swiftly closing in...

"Little thing, do not be so foolish. You will not achieve victory here. Give in. Join your voice with mine, and sing victory everlasting!" hissed the Gravemind, substantially more calm now. He was beginning to understand what was going on...

"Unlike some, i don't join the side with the advantage...i support my own side" said Serephir as he finally reached the Reactor, though his attention was on his surroundings more than ever. due to the fact that the slime on the walls seemed to be a living entity in itself, he couldn't use his eyepatch to pinpoint the position of possible enemies. but that didn't prevent him from knowing he wasn't alone...

"SUBMIT! End your torment and my own!" A Combat Form, the same Sangheili pilot that had been infected to bring the ship to the planet, leaped from the shadows, but instead of attacking Serephir, stood before him. The Elite side, still alive in the body, overcame the power of the "other" presence controlling him and moaned, "Kill... me..."

Serephir nodded, before slashing the form into 15 small pieces in a split second, before crushing it into oblivion, extinguishing all life in an instant. he then moved onto the console at the side of the Reactor and hitting the orange triangle as he said "As for you...i don't intend to submit to anyone's will. be it yours or another's. i fight for my freedom and that of my kind and my allies, and i won't see any of that hindered by the likes of you"...

There was a loud, animalistic roar, and Gravemind bellowed, "At last, I see! Your secret is revealed!" Suddenly, the walls of the cruisers echoed with a loud bang, chunks of slime dripping off the walls as the vibrations travelled throughout the ship's hull...

Serephir swiftly slid the blue rectangle upwards as Elch had instructed, the entire Reactor beginning to glow, before slashing a path through the side of the cruiser, the blow tearing a path for Serephir to pass, before launching himself out of it, a pair of massive black feathered wings emerging from under his trenchcoats as he flew out of the cruiser at almost irregisterable speed. "And now you see my Wrath" said Serephir as he flew away from it, his wings drawn back in as he landed softly on the ground by Elch and Grievous. "It's done" he said calmly as he looked around...

Gravemind growled sullenly, "Resignation is my virtue, like water I ebb and flow. Defeat is merely the addition of time to a sentence I never deserved...but you imposed." His voice suddenly grew angry. "But do not think, little thing, that you will escape MY wrath!" Tentacles sprang form the earth once, flailing in anger. Elch shouted into his COM, "Ship Master, get us a Phantom, now!" The rest of the Elites had been evacuated, as had the remaining TGDA and Vardian forces, back onto the Shadow of Intent.

Serephir looked around him, a look of annoyance on his face as he swung his blade one way, a white wave of energy unleashed from the sword, slashing countless numbers of tentacles off in one blow, Serephir repeating it several times, eliminating the tentacles around them as he said "I'll hold them off until we can get an evacuation craft". he gave an order to one of the Galactic Destroyers to prepare a PSC to destroy whatever survived of the blast. he made sure to have it kept to a minimal, so as not to entirely destroy the planet...

More and more tentacles came from the ground, several wrapping around Serephir's wrists and ankles to keep him from moving, while more wrapped around his torso. The Gravemind's massive, plantlike head emerged from the earth, mouth moving only partially to his words. "I may be defeated, little thing, but so are you. I will not be denied my victory! Not again!"

Serephir looked at either side of him, at the tentacles, smirking. "I don't intend to let you succeed in destroying my ally's homeworld". with that, the tentacles around him burst apart as he swung his blade forward at the Gravemind's massive head, the blow swinging up through the 'head' and blowing it apart, parts of it splattering in all directions outwards from the blow...

The Gravemind bellowed in fury, and a Phantom came down, Grievous, Elch, and the others floating back up into the ship's belly. The Gravemind began slowly reforming, its bits and pieces slithering together like grotesque slugs as he slowly reformed...

Serephir leapt back, reaching the Phantom and entering at the last moment, looking at the others. "Keep the monitors on it. if it survives the Cruiser, tell me" he said as he sheathed his sword, which seemed to be steaming, any foreign object on it completely destroyed before he placed the 7 foot long blade in it's scabbard on his back, dusting himself off nonchalantly and looking at the crew. "You guys ok?". they simply nodded, some too tired from the ordeal and, in Blaze's case, too awestruck to speak...after that performance...he knew why the Vardian General was titled the Devil of Vardia...no human being on Vardia was anywhere NEAR what Serephir was capable of...

An amused chuckle through the radio from the Starlight... the voice continued "My, my, my... By all means, 'annihilate us' See what good it will do you... We are giving you a chance, Riyalai... Surely, as head of Vardias forces, you should realise that....

You are in no position to make threats. As for my identity, I guess its only polite... I am captain Vosktav of the S.A Starlight. Currentely asigned to the Koultian rapid reaction force. You are merely the unfortunate bystander in this conflict and will be spared, our aggression was required, but not personal.

Attempting to shoot my ship down would be the worst mistake of your life captain. Not only would you most likely fail, but you probably wouldn't make it into Hyperspace before being destroyed, and if you did. Then you would be merely taking the fight back to Vardia, which we both know you don't want.
"

The koultian lead pursuit cruiser slipped into the atmosphere gently, swiftly approaching the conflict zone... Karan radioed Elch "Elch, Karan here. We saw your ship go down. Mark flood and hostile targets and we will drop the hammer on them. Copy?"

Elch said into the COM, "Just watch the fireworks, Karan." Bias floated over the Elite's shoulder, looking out the viewport eagerly...

The cruiser glowed, before it simply disappeared in an expanding dome of purple energy, vaporizing everything in the way. Gravemind, now reformed, reached out at the Phantom with a tentacle, but the dropship's turrets blew part of it off, letting them fly back towards the Shadow of Intent safely. Gravemind bellowed as the explosion consumed him, and kept going, vaporizing the entire base in the inferno. The Shadow of Intent, the Phantom safely in side, turned away and flew back into space, reaching it just as the explosion disappeared, leaving nothing but a charred chunk of rock sticking out of the cliff wall. The cave entrances were intact, however, and the Red-Eyes were huddled inside, most of which had survived the fight.

Serephir, overhearing the conversation through his earpiece, entered the conversation. "Captain, if you don't mind, i'd appreciate it if you'd EXPLAIN why you decided to attack friendly craft, when you COULD have worked with them to eliminate the greater threat, being the Flood which hopefully, i've put an end to with the help of Elch, the Elites and General Grievous, Faction Leader of the planet in question. your hostility only hindered progress. in FACT, were it not for your rather untimely interruption, the infection would've been haulted the moment it went planet side" he said via his wrist computer. Admiral Riyalai stepped out of the conversation. Serephir was the highest ranking of Vardia's military presence. he'd take over from there...

Vosktav answered immiediately "Because your mere presence jeopordised the lives of billions. We, the koult, along with with the Sanghelli, came here to contain and destroy the Flood. The presence of a single out sider, esspeicially one in control of such a large ship, immeidiately provides an escape route. All it takes is one foreign body within a single dropship to contaminate the entire ship. We were merely disableing the getaway vehicle.

Do not assume you had everything under the control. The Flood are more unpredictable than you think. Risking the 'wraith' of the Executioner and a few holes in its hull was worth ensuring that the flood would be kept contained.
"

Karan quickly ordered his pilot to pull up, leaving the atmopshere once more and steering off parallel to the Shadow of Intent in the distance...

"At least the Flood has been contained and eliminated!" said Bias through their conversation, with his usual cheery tone. "Though I do wish there were surviving specimens. They would have been of use."

Elch, meanwhile, had let the two argue. He left the parked Phantom and headed to the bridge, Grievous following. "What exactly just happened, Ship Master?" he said. "It was a Flood outbreak, and it seemed the Jiralhanae mistook it for a Sangheili intrusion. Then, as usual, they decided to take matters into their own hands, which is never a good thing..."

"And you're suggesting they could hit the Executioner while it was still in space? when it has no safe way of landing? and not even an order to land at all even if it could? furthermore, we were basically about to reduce the entire infected area to mere PARTICLES. completely vaporise the area. and to emphasize it, my forces weren't even ground level. unless they had some kind of pod that could get them into space, onto one of my ships' hulls without being completely destroyed by the heat of the shields, get into a quarter of a kilometer of armour, access the interior BEHIND that armour without being destroyed by the internal defense system, they would have no way of accessing, or using any of the Vardian craft as an escape route. to top it off, the Computers on board the Ships are advanced AIs, and will shut the controls down when another party takes control, such as a crew of infected soldiers. the ship would drift in space until it's internal systems found a way of destroying the presence, and then potentially destroy itself after a signal to High Command should things be potentially risky. Do not make the mistake of thinking we are incompetent and incapable of sorting matters outside of our direct control. and for a final point, although the Executioner made contact with you for identification and cause of hostility, you didn't even respond, instead deciding to continue attacking the ship and potentially harming over a Million crew members, soldiers, and costing your entire faction the alliance and trust of the Vardians without even a warning or explanation for your actions prior. a mere order via radio would've been enough. a simple explanation would have sufficed. and still, you went for the offensive approach?" said Serephir as he crossed his arms, looking at the screen on his wrist computer as he spoke to the Koult Captain...
