"Protocol dictated his response!" protested Bias. "It is better to keep the Flood from spreading than wasting valuable time talking."

"Be that as it may. regardless, lives were put at risk through your attempt to prevent ANOTHER risk, when a simple radio warning would've sufficed for both sides. your ammunition stockpiles wouldn't have been wasted and our armour wouldn't have been damaged. but, that aside, provided you take it as a priority to give a warning of that type before attempting to engage if such a situation were to occur again, i think we can put this behind us. the Flood has been Neutralised from what i can see, and our military presence here may be extended, what with the constant trouble Trandosha's been having with invasions. if we find a hint of the Flood's survival, we'll be sure to make sure they're eliminated immediately" said Serephir...

"Excellent!" replied Bias, gleeful once more. "I will do my best to make sure containment protocols here are done correctly, right down to the letter!"

"Then i assume this situation is over" said Serephir as he looked around at the crew of the ship, wondering when he, his crew and Grievous would be taken back to the spire...

Karan entered the conversation with a laugh "Your words only justify our actions. Your blind confidence in your designs let you down."

Vosktav replied, going straight onto the more important matter of diplomacy "There are no records of any alliance between we, the koult and Vardia. Vardias only mention is among the trading partner records. Considering the current disposition of the Exeuctioners captain, its safe to assume very little co-operation would have been realised. As Bias said. Protocall. You will learn in time how troublesome negotiations can be when swift action is required."

Meanwhile, one of his crew members was covertly adding information to the Koultian Alien archieves...

"It appears your information is outdated. the very least that occured was a contract between the Koultian captial and the Vardian Minister of Foreign Affairs. it covered general relations between the two factions ranging from trade to politics" started Serephir on the issue of politics. "As for the Executioner's captain, he is under my direct command, and, were you to attempt communication, he would've informed me, and as a result Cooperation would have been achieved, especially with the good relations the two factions have had in the past. lastly, our confidence in our technology has it's reasons, and, like any other intelligent being, we make mistakes, and we learn from them. for example, it appears the defenses on our craft are mediocre at best. the only solution, as you can guess, is for more research to go into more effective types of defense. that aside, I'll expect a bit more warning from a non-hostile race before being fired at from now on...this is hardly the kind of action to be taken on others for a mere military operation. one operation jeapordising the peace of the entire faction is ridiculous he said finally...it was remarkable...the Koult were actually arguing that it was the Vardians' fault that hostilities broke out, when THEY were the ones who opened fire...

Vosktav sighed. This was getting irritateing. He replied "A few thousand koultian lives and most of the remaining Sanghelli is not 'a mere military operation' Alien... Again referring to Bias, Containment was the main key. If we had our way, the flood would be still alive at this stage for further study to discover a possible cure, as unlikely as it was, it is impossible now.

Lastly, there are zero political agreements made with Vardia according to my very much up-to-date information. Little is here except for a few general notes of an early, expanding civlisation. One Serephir here, a vip who we were asked to keep an eye out for, details on geometry, social aspects, histroy... etc. Quite Frankly, I have a few thousand similar entries about other trading partners.
"

Karan, meanwhile decided to leave the political mumbo jumbo to Vosktav and contacted Elch and Bias "Karan here, where do you go from here? Think we should stick around and look for surviving infection forms or do we go our seperate ways?"

Bias sighed and floated, away heading to the bridge after Elch and Grievous. "Organics," he mused. "How tiresome." To Karan, he replied, "I am sure there are no more Infection Forms present on the planet, or even a single Flood spore. Containment should be quick and simple from now on, though we should stay near the planet to finish the procedures." Elch said into the COM, "I agree, at least for now. We must make sure that the Flood is not still here, in any manner whatsoever."

"Well neither is the lives of nearly a million Vardians that were potentially put at risk during your 'protocol'. as for Serephir, you're speaking to him right now. on a last note, might i take an example of this. if you were to repeat what you did here to all your various trading partners, don't you think you'd lose business? nobody wants connections to factions that will, without prior warning, shoot them in the back" said Serephir. "Regardless. this is behind us. but i will expect more appropriate warning in the future. this kind of offensive action without prior warning is hardly the behaviour one would expect from an intergalactically popular trading partner" he finally said, looking at the others with a look of annoyance...

Serephir's com buzzed, and Grievous' voice said, "Serephir, we need you on the bridge. We're going to figure out what to do from here."

Serephir left the room, heading for the bridge, an uncomfortable silence in his wake, none of the crew wanting to be the one to comment on the argument...

The bridge was large and rectangular, with Elites lined up along the purple-blue walls. in the center of the room was a rectangular table, which produced a blue glow from within it, and was curved at one end, flat at the other. At the flat, there was a slightly raised platform, with a purple chair floating about 2 feet above that. In the chair sat a white-armored Elite, with most of his body armor modified to look like an Assault Harness. His helmet, however, was that of a usual Sangheili, except that he was missing half of his left mandibles. Ship Master Rtas 'Vadum waited patiently for Serephir to arrive, as did grievous, Elch, and Bias, who stood at the other end of the table.

Serephir walked into the room, noticing the others there and saying "So what do we have ahead of us regarding potential problems?"...

Rtas replied, "Hopefully, nothing. However, Mendicant Bias here insists we make sure there aren't still signs of Flood infection on the planet. Everyone present, except myself, Bias, and General Grievous, could possibly be infected, as could your crew, Serephir. It's best that you have my medics check you all out to make sure you don't accidentally spread anything. From what I've gathered, even breathing Flood-contaminated air could possibly cause infection." "It's a rare occurrence, however, that the Flood could turn you into a Combat Form in that manner, however," added Bias.

Vosktav closed the line. From his point of view, the crew of the Executioner had never been under any real danger. His shots were targeted to incapacitate, not to kill. If he had wanted to destroy them outright he would have simply fired a barage of stealth missiles the moment the shield went down.

Karan replied to Bias "Alright then. Do you think you and your sentinals will be able to handle it? We are prepared to stay if the needs be."

He was currently within his cruisers control pod, his 4 other crew members outside in the bridge were busying themselves with information feeded through by the computer.

"Regardless of their capabilities, i'd preffer we go through the medical procedures anyway. god knows what would happen if one of us were to be seriously infected without being treated" said Serephir. he had been heavily genetically enhanced in every form from his immune system to his nervous system. but that didn't mean he was immune to all disease. it'd be disasterous if he were to end up being the unknowing carrier of such a dangerous infection...

Rtas stood up, lightly stepping down to the floor. "Come with me, then." Rtas walked past the group and out the door, which irised open as he stepped through. "Serephir, bring your crew with you." Bias responded to Karan, "My Sentinels are quite capable of dealing with whatever is left to sterilize."

Serephir called for the crew via radio, and waited for them. as soon as they arrived, Serephir led them after Rtas...

Rtas led them all down a maze of winding corridors, before finally stepping into a small room, with a large red square in the center. "Step in there, please," he said to Serephir.

Serephir nodded, stepping forward, assuming they were to go through the cleansing operation one by one...
