OoC: If you have played Warcraft 3, the scarab tank is loosely based on the design of the Crypt Lord
The machines continued their bombardment, some scurrying away behind cover to avoid destruction, others dissappearing below the earth...
Meanwhile, much much much deeper, Deadulus still had his laptop open, a loud gravely crunching sound continuously rattleing the walls of the small metal room in which he sat. He was on a bench near the left hand wall, the right hand wall being slightly curved... He knocked twice on a door next to him and said loudly "Scarab, how much farther?"
A deep american accent replied "Not far, not far... should hit the walls in about 5 minutes, you better be ready."
Daedulus nodded, thinking. He said again "What's our siesmic trace like at the moment?"
This 'Scarab' man replied again "Non existant, we are in a band of hard rock at the moment. Makes our progress slower, but reduces the amount of vibrations. Won't hear us untill its too late."
Deadulus nodded again, and asked finally "Terran sonar?"
A grunting laugh came from the other room and his comrade shouted back "Hard rock my freind, nothing can spot us..."
Daedulus, seemingly satisfied, leaned back calmly.... The room suddenly started shaking maddly, the crunching sound from outside turning into the haunting roar of twisted metal....
In the underground barracks, every soldier present immeidiately turned to face the wall shocked at the deafening grinding sound filling the room. Two orange drills pushed their way out of the wall, huge cracks forming around them, molten metal and earth sliding out around them and spilling across the floor... The drills spread out, ripping a sizeable hole in the wall, dust and ash filling the air. A gigantic robotic crab/spider like machine scuttled out of the hole, plasma drills suddenly locking in place and splitting into four, dual 30mm cannons revealed at their center. The cannons burst into life, sweeping arcs of shells across the entire room...
