Space E-war

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

OOC: No power, no cameras, no turrets :P That whole sector is swimming in the dark age. Nevertheless, I'll play along for now.

A missile rose up out of the shielded crater, swirling up and hammering into a gunship, the blast completely engulfing the ship... lines of tracers and larger weapon fire rattleing out into space, the Engineers working frantically to bring turrets online...

The moment the turrets came online and the lasers staretd flying, the Sentinals bolted, all aiming for doors or small alcoves, bits of shrapnel blasting off their armour where they were hit. One of the Drones didn't react at all. This one being a beefier varient-B Urban Sentinal. The covering on the end of one tenticle slid away, revealing a glowing weapon, a barrel sliding out past its clawed hand and anchoring in place. the tip of the weapon clicked open and a thin GPC bolt rocketed out, slamed into the turret and blew it to pieces... Many of the turrets simply hung loosely, their power lines having being severed. The few active turrets were either swiftly avoided or destroyed. The Sentinals started broacasting random screeches and interference across all radio channels, others sending out wifi interuption waves. There was a chance the turrets were battery powered and being controlled via wireless, but now even that wouldn't work.

OOC: meh bad

The Dark Troopers were starting to advance..there was several large groups of them, slowly advancing towards areas infiltrated with Sentinials. The Imperials had the Sentials boxed in within the sector..if they attempted to escape through the doors, chances are..the area was full of mines and had several Dark Troopers and small squads of troopers in them. Due to their firepower, numerous Dark Troopers were the only one to advance but despite this..there was Dark Troopers everywhere. Other areas of escaping did provide some problems but it wasnt like the Imperials couldnt detect that at all..

Several bombers began to swoop in and began to unleash their devasting payloads of assualt concussion missles at the shielded crater. They did not want to use too much and have several bombs hit the Annihilator..instead they dropped just enough to destroy the shield. They had alternatives but once they controlled the crater..victory was almost assured as the gigantic Star Dreadnought was rapidly approaching the Death Star..their destination was to be reached in only a few more minutes.

Meanwhile... at the horrific crashsite of the cruiser, the engineers frantically worked, the machines missile silo had been salvaged and was no sticking awkwardly up out of the wreckage, One of the engineers was linked up to a cloud of wires, controling the missile system. Another engineer loaded in a missile, one of many that was found intact. Sadly, the ships Solar charge was destroyed...

The missile was loaded into place, the engineers zoomed away, then it launched. The missile blasted off the launcher, soaring into the air before smashing into the engines of an approaching Victory. A huge explosions rippled out of the ship, the engines being completely shreded in the attack... Fire consuming its rear end, the ship closed in on the annihilator, now with no way of turning.... In the crater there was wide spread panic, a hail of anti air fire blasting into the aggressors on all sides, the remaining sentinals and engineers dissappearing into the tunnels and trying to seal them, however, many were left in ruins on the surface of the gargantuan ship...

Suddenly 5 sentinals hammered into one of the lock down doors, putting pressure on it slowly and trying to tear their way through. After a moment or two of effort, their cutting lasers seared into action, each one slicing a line across its surface, then they folded the thick slabs down and flooded through, one of the urban-Sentinals swiftly following them. Their wings slid out and each one leapt into the air, engines ignighting. The machines zipped down the corridor, trying to spread their current sphere of influence and take attention away from the work in the mess hall....

"Enemy units have arrived fan out and fire at will!" A dark trooper appearing from a corridor that led into the corridor where the five sentinels have arrived. The giant robotic soldier raised its five barreled plasma weapon and began to unleash its weapon as its rockets prepared to fire, five burning bursts of white hot plasma constantly being fired at a swift rate towards the sentinels as several imperial troopers, following the Dark Trooper and unleashed their weapons using their rapidly firing plasma weapons in mass coordination in an attempt to destroy the intruders..The Imperials were prepared..

Catching up, Y'gar had a puzzled look on his face, and asked, "Elch? Is that you?"

Elch crossed his arms, smirking. "Good to see you too, Y'gar."

There was a high-pitched screech, then a bolt of blinding green fire slammed into one of the Assassin Drones, molten metal raining to the ground as it exploded. A massive, armored beast, spikes lining its back, four large scythe arms extending from its powerful torso, charged out of the shadows, mouth open in a booming roar. "Carnifex!" Jones yelled. "Time to go!" Crowley hit the ignition, and blue flame erupted from the pelican's jets as it floated slowly into the air, ready to take off. "We're going too slow!" Crowley yelled. "That robot better be able to handle that thing while we get away!" The Carnifex opened its fang-filled mouth, another high shriek growing, a green glow emanating from its jaws even as it continued thundering forward.

"Well, considering what happened to Sangheilios, I'd say you're right about that," replied Elch. "Just glad to see that I was wrong."

The Sentinals spread out, the normal ones at the side, latching onto the walls while the Varient B Sentinal landed heavily onto 4 claws. The plasma shots fizzed gently against its shield, red dust appearing out of nowhere as the bolts incinerated the nano bots. The Sentinals tenticled arm swung up, its gpc sliding out. A blue bolt rocketed out of the weapon, zipped down the corridor and hammered into the dark troopers chest, suprisingly enough, leaving him intact. The bolt exploded and the trooper was flung back like a ragdoll, but the suit hadnt been peirced. The Sentinal didnt stop there, a laser flashing through its shield and striking its side. A disintergrator cannon slid out of its cartridge and blazed into action, spitting white hot rounds into the Imperial troops, the bolts searing right through them and going out the other side, albeit, not accuractely. one of them ripped through a troopers knee cap, bringing him to the ground in shouts of pain, the others punctureing the clones bodies in random spots.

One of the clones took quick aim..if he was going to die, he was going to die taking one of them down. He raised the massive riffle he was carrying and aimed towards a sentinel. He then fired his Stocker Concussion Riffle, firing a capsule of ionized air right into the body of one of the enemy machines, the devastating impact easily capable of crushing heavily armed and armored targets. Another trooper threw a thermal detonator, intending on blowing up the entire radius where the sentinels lay..as the Dark Trooper slowly got up, it proceeded to fire its five barreled plasma cannon..the super heating plasma weapon rapidly firing..it had no care for its allies..it was meant to be ruthless and kill all enemies in its way..

"My Lord were approaching the Death Star's main hanger..the hanger is awaiting for our arrival" Grand Admiral Piett stated, having just spoken to the Grand Admirals inside of the Death Star. "Make sure those outside enemies are destroyed and make sure we have Dark Troopers and other units prepared to board upon entry..we cannot allow not even one machine to infiltrate the battle-station..no mistakes Piett" Revan ordered as Piett nodded, knowing the battle-station;s importance.

"Considering how close they were to pretty much destroying themselves from the inside out, I'm a little shocked," replied Elch jokingly. "But if you'll excuse me, I've got to get to the bridge."

the lesser Assassin Drone, in critical condition, initiated a self destruct mechanism as it pummelled the Carnifex with machinegun fire and laser bolts, before barreling into the creature, which was about 3 times it's size, the drone exploding on impact, devastating shrapnel exploding from the lesser armoured area, which was facing the creature, the jagged pieces of metal and molten plasma tearing into it. Meanwhile, the commanding Assassin drone aimed a tendril at the creature, the tip extending outwards from the sides as a thin red bolt was launched at the creature, while three more tendrils rose up above it and split into three parts, thin nozzles pointing out of them as three thin needles extended, being retracted again at high speed as the tendrils limbered up, moving swiftly as they prepared to strike, held behind the Drone to keep them out of the creature's reach...

The Carnifex stumbled back, roaring, the Bio-Plasma bolt going up into the air and slamming into the hangar roof with a mighty crack, molten metal raining down on the remaining Assassin Drone. The behemoth crouched, scythes flexing as it circled the drone cautiously, looking for a weak point in its defenses. Movement was seen from the several entrance of the hangar, as more of the smaller creatures emerged from the darkness, some with scythe arms, others with alien-looking, organic weapons grafted into their forelimbs. As the Pelican's hatch closed, Jones yelled, "Go, go, go!" The pelican shot forward, boosting out of the hangar and forcing the Marines into their seats as the dropship pushed out of the hangar's stasis field, flying out into the vacuum of space. The smaller creatures that swarmed in were mostly crushed or incinerated by the ship's passing, their bio-weapons, which fired sharp-fanged beetles and vicious worm-like organisms, having no effect on the Pelican's hard armor. The Carnifex lunged forward as the aliens swamped the drone with superior numbers, stabbing its massive, swordlike limbs into the drone's armored chassis.

Chardossk growled, "Then why aren't we barging in their with a massive force, ready to gun down those a******s?!"

the the red dart-like projectile that had been fired at the carnifex, now deeply embedded in it's body, exploded, a massive blast of flames coming out of the wound as the Drone activated all it's lasers, flailing them around in a tri-axis 360 degree range all around it, slicing the hordes that came ar it as it used 4 of it's tendrils to kick off of the ground, into the air, it's engines blasting to life, huge whitish flames bursting from two vents on the upper flanks of it's hexagonal, armoured form, incinerating whatever attempted to catch it as it launched itself out of the hanger after the Pelican, it's tendrils acting as cover fire for both it and the space craft. it had been considerably damaged, but there was still the chance that it would live to see another day. a slim, sleek craft considerably larger than the Pelican drifted towards it, magnetic anchors launching themselves, attaching to the armour as the craft towed it away at high speed, just in time to avoid what was soon to occur...

"Target coordinates acquired" came the voice of the Border Defense Control Unit's AI as it scanned information from the Investigator, Assassins and the Border Control's monitoring systems.
"Target mass and dimensions acquired. Activating PPSC now" came the voice, as, a few miles away from the control room, a missile-silo-like opening appeared in the ground, a large cannon emerging from within, a siren going off within as it charged, a ring of bluish purple particles collecting around the tip of the barrel...

the Investigator zoomed in on the surface Vardia as flash was seen, the Planetary Defense Artilliary opening fire on the craft, a single massive whitish purple beam collided with the craft, soon stopping, only dust hinting towards the ship ever existing, the ship and the creatures that were on board completely annihilated...

"Have you noticed any parasitic like behaviour in these creatures?" asked the Investigator as it clung from the cieling in the pelican, it's single wide, green eye having an innocently curious aire to it...

Crowley leaned against the console with a sigh of relief, then said, exhaustion obvious in his voice, "No. All they did was eat whatever was organic on the ship. If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were harvesting it for later, like squirrels storing nuts for the winter or something." He arched a brow. "Why do you ask? Is there some sort of parasite around here I should be worrying about?" Based on what he knew from UNSC training, the term "parasite" didn't exactly give the Lieutenant a warm, fuzzy feeling...

"Previous experience with parasitic organisms have left us wary of potential problems caused by them. that's one of the reasons we're being taken to an isolated location. to ensure we don't have any surviving creatures on board" said the Investigator...

Crowley paused for a long while, then finally asked darkly, "Did this parasite go by the name of The Flood?" Personally, he was glad the other Marines were in the back of the dropship, where they couldn't hear the conversation. They were spooked enough as it is.

"Indeed. we've only come across them once, but their adaptability was such that it was immediately put a priority on our list of things to be prepared for. Vardia's recently sent an agent to speak with the Sangheili military for blueprints on an effective detection and cleansing system, with hopes of using it to further our ability to combat the parasites should they appear again. currently, the main way we use to detect unwanted lifeforms entering Vardian territory is through in depth scans of all ships entering Vardian airspace, along with any and all cargo on board, sometimes extending the scan to ventilation systems if we sense there is a risk of it being present there. though the flood haven't made an appearance yet, we've managed to identify and prevent about 100 other potentially dangerous illnesses and kept them off of Vardian streets. though they didn't pose nearly as great a threat as the flood, they were still proven to be harmful through scientific analysis" said the Drone...
